Novak Djokovic confirms his participation at 2023 Australian Open

Former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who was deported from Australia in January, confirmed his 3-year visa ban has been overturned.

Djokovic's unvaccinated status saw his visa being revoked earlier this year after he failed to provide sufficient documents to back his reasons for his non-vaccination. His deportation meant he wasn't allowed to enter Australia till 2025.

But the 21-time Grand Slam Champion confirmed that his 3-year ban had been lifted by the Australian authorities, paving way for his participation at the year-opening Grand Slam in 2023.

Djokovic, who has won the Australian Open a record 9 times, is currently in Turin for the ATP Tour Finals, said he's very happy after learning a visa would be granted to him despite his unvaccinated status.

There was double delight in store for the 35-year-old Serb as his straight-sets victory over Russia's Andrey Rublev secured him a place in the semi-finals of the season-ending ATP Finals.
