Roger Federer: The best there was, the best there is, the best there ever will be

If playing tennis is an art, then Roger Federer is the Picasso of it.

The world saw him become the first man on the planet to get to 20 grand slam titles but his well-wishers won't get another opportunity to see the Swiss Maestro try and add another to the list.

As Federer takes the court for his final match of a stunning professional career at the Laver Cup in London, the former world number 1 clarified that he would only play doubles at his swansong on Friday.

The 41-year-old insisted that he has no intention of walking away from a sport he has graced for so long. 'I just wanted to let the fans know I won't be a ghost,' said Federer.

Federer announced his retirement last week via social media and said that it was something he understood he needed to do after running into setbacks this July during his rehabilitation from what was his third surgery on his right knee in about 18 months.

But no matter what, You may take Federer out of the professional court but no one can take tennis out of the Swiss Maestro.
