Reflecting on his performance, Murray acknowledged the possibility of not returning to the Australian Open. "It's a definite possibility that will be the last time I play here,” he commented following his defeat. Murray also expressed disappointment with his performance, noting the lack of energy and engagement with the audience, which usually characterizes his matches.

"Not much went right from the beginning. Usually, I would always engage the crowd and get them going and bring some energy into the match. It was really just a flat performance,” Murray remarked.
