Women's T20 WC: India lose to England by 11 runs in all-important top of the table clash

India failed to make it three wins in a row as they were defeated by England by 11 runs in what was a top-of-the-table clash at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

Choosing to bat first, England saw batters Danni Wyatt (0), Alice Capsey (3), and Sophie Dunkley (10) get dismissed respectively, inside the powerplay courtesy of a brilliant bowling spell by Renuka Thakur who took her maiden fifer against England to restrict them to 151 in the first innings.

Chasing which, India never seemed to gain proper momentum in the 2nd innings which saw them struggle with 65 runs at the halfway stage of the innings. Smriti Mandhana's 52-run knock and Richa Ghosh's unbeaten 47 runs went in vain as the Women in Blue fell short by 11 runs in the end.
