Anyone who loves watching cricket, especially the ones who rue that the game is not what it used to be and the players are not as great as they used to be back in the day, is likely to have spent time on YouTube going through old match videos.

And if you are someone who watches old match video, you are likely to have come across a YouTube channel called Robelinda2. Run by an Australian, the channel hosted numerous videos of match going as far back as the 1980s but not anymore.

Rob Moody, the man who runs the channel posted on X on November 5 that YouTube has removed his account after receiving copyright complaints.

Cricket fans across the world were not happy and took to X to express their dismay and anger.

While some wrote that it was a say day for all cricket fans, others said it highlighted how cricket is run these days. Several fans also thanked him for his efforts and for making pandemic days sufferable.

Sports presenter Alan Wilkins tweeted 'Rob, so sorry to hear this, but in saying that, I hope all is well with you. Thank You for so many memorable moments watching cricket from years gone by! Treasured memories.'

'This is very sad for cricket fans around the world. Rob has arguably done more to organically spread love and appreciation of the game’s history through video than anyone. And much would have been lost without his incredible archive,' sports journalist Melinda Farrell tweeted.
