Virat Kohli comes into the attack and starts his spell with a DOT ball. Kinchit Shah hits the second ball towards deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs follows by a single towards long-on.

Hong Kong 65-2 after the end of 10 overs

With nothing to lose, Hong Kong batters are finding boundaries at regular intervals. Babar Hayat makes the most of the powerplay as he smashes three Fours and two sixes for his 29 runs in 17 overs. 

In the last over of the powerplay, Babar sends Arshdeep for a leatherhunt and smashes three fours before giving the strike to the captain Nizakat. Haroon Arshad bowls the last over.

A wide full toss and Surya slices it towards the point boundary for a SIX. SKY completes his 22-ball fifty as he produces an amazing shot, hitting the ball outside off towards the extra cover boundary for a SIX. 

Surya continues his power-hitting after completing his fifty. He smashes 3rd consecutive six, straight down the ground for a SIX. 

A short delivery, SKY tries to guide it over the keeper but misses completely. Another short delivery, and this time towards leg side, Surya deposits it into the fine leg stands for a six. A couple of runs for Surya to end the over. '

Ehsan Khan continues and Kohli collects a couple of runs off the first ball. He completes his fifty. HE IS BACK. He takes a single off the next ball. Surya gives Kohli the strike next ball with a single.

Kohli drags the 4th ball and deposits the ball into the stands. He advances down the wicket off the next and hits towards deep extra cover for a couple of runs.

Ayush Shukla comes into the attack and Surya smashes the first ball over extra cover for FOUR. 

Surya steers the next ball through short third-man for another four. He tries to guide the next ball towards fine-leg but misses it completely, WIDE CALLED. But the replay shows it should have been plumb

Ayush comes up with a short delivery and SKY misses it completely. He just moves all the momentum in India's favour. Surya wrists the 4th ball towards mid-wicket for a SIX.

Ehsan Khan comes back into the attack and Kohli tries to play a cheeky shot but misses it completely. He collects a single off the next ball. 

He concedes only 4 runs.

Aizaz Khan returns into the attack and Kohli greets him with a GIGANTIC six towards deep cow corner and taps the next towards third man for a single.

Suryakumar upper-cuts the third ball over the short third man for FOUR. He just hits the next ball over the wicket-keeper for a SIX.

Surya advances down the ground and smashes the 5th ball towards deep extra cover for a single as he fails to find the boundary. 

Kohli keeps the strikes as he hit the short delivery towards mid-wicket for a single off the last delivery.

Ayush Shukla, who conceded only seven runs in his first two overs, comes in the attack.

He concedes only 3 runs off the first 4 balls but Surya hits the 5th ball towards the deep fine leg and Hong Kong gifts him FOUR runs thanks to a miss-field. 

Despite that boundary Ayush conceded only seven runs in the over.

Yasim Murtaza continues and Kohli collects a couple of runs off the first delivery. He gives the strike to Surya by taking a single. 

Surya unleashes himself from the first ball as he sweeps the third ball in front of square for FOUR. And when the fielder is moved to front of square on leg side, he sweeps it towards deep backward square leg for another four.

Murtaza leaks 13 runs in the over.

Mohammad Ghazanfar bowls the 13th over. Kohli breaks the shackles at last and slog-sweeps the 4th ball towards the mid-wicket region for a SIX. 

Rahul tries to replicate the same but manages only an edge to keeper, GONE. End of sluggish innings. He departs for 39-ball 36.

Kl Rahul and Virat Kohli are not able to find the boundaries. However, they are changing the strikes continuously. 

In the last two overs, Hong Kongs have conceded only 14 runs with 10 coming in the 11th over itself. 

Left-arm spinner Yasim Murtaza, who bowls the 12th over, uses his variations with great effect and concedes only five runs.

After a lull of 25 balls, Rahul plays first aggressive shot. In the 9th over, he wallopes the 3rd ball of Aizaz's over towards mid-wicket for a six. 

Rahul pushes the next ball down the ground for a single. While Kohli taps the 5th ball towards the cover-point region for a quick single.

Aizaz concedes nine runs in the over.

With Hong Kong bowlers using the cutters for good effect, Indian batters are not able to up the ante. 

Virat and Rahul collect only five singles in the 6th Over. They manage to score only eight runs, without any boundary, in the next.

After Haroon's 22-run over, Ehsan Khan stems the run flow in the 4th over as he concedes only 5. 

Ayush Shukla bowls the next and gets the prized wicket of Rohit before conceding a boundary straight down the ground. Rohit tried to muscle the 5th ball towards mid-wicket but the ball doesn't come on the ball. He top-edges the ball to long-on and Aizaz Khan completes the catch. 

Kohli arrives at the crease and chips the last ball down the ground for a single.

After collecting only a run in the second over, Rohit starts the third over with a big hit. He smashes the first ball straight down the ground for a SIX. 

Haroon Arshad loses his line & length and bowls a NO ball. The free-hit ball is also a NO ball.  Rahul makes full use of the second free hit and smashes it toward deep square leg for a six. This might gives Rahul the much-needed momentum.

Rahul nudges the 5th ball towards deep square leg for a single.  Rohit drives the last ball through covers for FOUR.

India vice-captain KL Rahul couldn't wish for an easier opposition to get his rhythm back as a buoyant India get ready to steamroll minnows Hong Kong in their second and final group league game of the Asia Cup.

Rahul, whose first T20I in 2022 was against Pakistan the other night, would want to come out all guns blazing and may take this opportunity to try an alternate batting approach at the onset, compared to what has been his style at the IPL.

Amid all the talks around Rishabh Pant's exclusion from the India line-up, Jadeja stated that he doesn't know why the wicket keeper-batter was left out of the Playing XI during the Pakistan clash and termed the question, 'out of the syllabus'.
