IPL 2022, KKR vs PBKS HIGHLIGHTS: Andre Russell powers Kolkata to a big win

Russell smashes two sixes in the 15th over to seal the game for Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets.

In a desperate attempt of a wicket, Mayank Agarwal brings in Arshdeep Singh into the attack. Arshdeep tries to unsettle with cutters but Sam Billings defends the first two before giving the strike to Russell, who smashes slaps the full toss straight down the ground for FOUR. And completes his FIFTY. 

KKR: 128-4 after 14 Overs, need 10 more runs in 36 balls

Andre Russell sends Oden Smith to leather hunt as he smashes three sixes and a FOUR in the over. Before third umpire calls the last ball NO BALL. Sam Billings plays the free hit and smashes a good length delivery straight down the ground for SIX. 

KKR on driver seat as Odean Smith leaks 30 runs in the over.

KKR: 109-4 after 14 Overs

After the strategic break, Russell looks tentative against Brar but the Caribbean muscles the 2nd ball for a GIGANTIC SIX. He tries to go for another biggie next ball but manages only a bottom towards square leg for a couple of runs.

Brar follows up with a flighted delivery but Russell deposits it into the stands for SIX.

KKR: 73-4 after 10 overs, need 65 more runs in 60 balls.

At first strategic break, Kolkata shed their early advantage as Chahar pile up the pressure with two wickets in same over.

KKR: 56-4 after 9 over, need 82 more runs to win 66 balls

Harpreet Brar, Left arm orthodox, comes into the attack and concedes only three singles.

KKR: 54-4 after 8 Overs

Rahul Chahar, right-arm leg break, comes into the attack after the powerplay and gets the prized wicket of Shreyas Iyer, who gets perished in search of big hit as he tries to play a slog sweep but manages only an top edge. Rabada completes the catch. 

Punjab Kings storm back into the match as Chahar scalps Nitish Rana after Iyer's wicket. DOUBLE WICKET MAIDEN.

KKR: 51-4, need 87 more runs in 78 balls

Harpreet Brar takes stunner as Venkatesh Iyer smoked the good length delivery outside off. Brar completes the catch on second attempt. Sam Billings replaces Venkatesh at the middle and starts with a boundary.

KKR: 42-2 after 5 Overs 

Shreyas Iyer leads the Kolkata's chase with three boundaries in 7 balls he faced so far. 

KKR: 33-1 after 4 Overs

Kagiso Rabada, right-arm fast, comes into the attack and concedes six runs before taking the wicket of Rahane off the last delivery. Rahane gets an outside edge to the short third man and Odean Smith completes the catch.

Ajinkya Rahane crosses 4000-run mark in Indian Premier League after he hit second boundary in the first over.

After a late flourish from Rabada and Smith, Punjab loses their last two wickets very quickly. Rabada goes back to pavallion in a search of big hit while Arsdeep Singh gets runout the next ball.

Punjab Kings: 137-all out with 10 balls to spare

Rabada using the long handle as he smashes the first ball of Mavi's over straight down the ground for FOUR while manages to get an outside edge off the next between wicketkeeper and flying slip for FOUR.

Odean Smith is on the strike after Rabada collects a single. Odean Smith stries to send the 4th ball out of the park but fails to put bat on ball. A slow bumper outside off, called WIDE. A swing and miss from Odean Smith. Odean Smith wallopes the last ball for SIX.

Punjab 137-8 after 18 Overs

Kagiso Rabada break the shackles as he smashes Two boundaries and a SIX off the first three balls. 

Southee follows with a chest height bumper, NO BALL CALLED. Rabada drills the yorker to mid-on for a single. Southee comes back brilliantly with TWO DOT balls to end the over.

Umesh Yadav gets two wickets in his last over and reduces Punjab to 102-8 and ends the over wicket with DOUBLE WICKET MAIDEN. 

Southee put on more miseries on Punjab Kings as he gets the wicket of Shahrukh Khan off the first ball. Odean Smith comes at the crease and collects five runs to  end the over.

Punjab 97-6 after 13 Overs.

Harpreet Brar smashes the last ball of 12th over for SIX after failing to score any in first five deliveries. 

Sunil Narine beats Bawa with a ripper and cleans up the youngster, another failure for the Under-19 stars. Harpreet Brar comes at the crease and collects a single before Shahrukh defends the last two deliveries.

Liam Livingstone tries to accelerate the run rate as Shreyas brings Umesh Yadav in the strike. Livingstone goes for a big hit over long-off off the last delivery but fails to clear Tim Southee. Second wicket for Umesh

Kolkata Knight Riders taking wickets at regular intervals as Punjab trying to go big. Dhawan is the latest casualty for Punjab after Southee finds the outside edge. 

Punjab 65-3 after 7 Overs

Tim Southee bowls the second over of the match and concedes only one run in first five deliveries. Rajapaksa smashes the last ball over extra cover for FOUR.

Punjab 7-1 after 2 Overs 

Umesh Yadav continues his superb run with the new ball and gets the wicket of Mayank Agarwal off the last delivery of first over. 

Kolkata Knight Riders win the toss and elects to bowl 

Kagiso Rabada gets his debut cap ahead of toss. 

In the two matches played so far ar Wankhede Stadium, team batting second won both the matches. Dew is going to a major concern for the captains.

Batting at the Wankhede, where the track is relatively fresh, has not been easy as seen in the two games played at the venue so far.

It may be early days in the two-month long IPL but the toss is already playing a significant role in the game's outcome with dew coming into picture in the second half of the game.

Umesh has picked 49 wickets in the powerplay at an economy rate of 7.60. He is only being Bhuvneshwar Kumarv (51), Sandeep Sharma (52) and Zaheer Khan (52).
