Quinton de Kock smashes two back-to-back boundaries and looking to end the game in a hurry. de Kock edges the last ball to short third man as the South African batter tries to hit third boundary in a row.

In a desperate search of a wicket, Rishabh Pant brings Shardul Thakur in the attack. 

de Kock collects seven runs, including a boundary and a couple of runs, in the over.

Rishabh Pant brings his strike bowler after spinners choked the run flow. But Nortje's nightmarish run in the match continues as he starts with a head high beamer, de Kock somehow put bat on ball, which sails over the boundary line for a SIX.

de Kock drills the FREE HIT towards deep extra cover for a single. Nortje concedes 14 runs in his second over of the match. He leaked 19 in his first.

Lucknow 104-2 after 14 Overs, need 46 more runs to win in 36 balls. 

Lalit Yadav continues and doesn't allow Lewis to score any runs. Lewis tries to hit Lalit out of the park and manages only a top edge. Kuldeep Yadav takes the skier.

Deepak Hooda comes at the crease and cuts the second ball he faced towards deep backward point for a couple of runs. Another couple of runs for Deepak Hooda to end the over.

Kuldeep Yadav continues and concedes only one run off the first three deliveries before de Kock smashes the 4th ball over extra cover for FOUR. With a glorious shot, de Kock reaches his fifty-run mark.

Kuldeep Yadav provides Delhi their much-needed breakthrough in the 10th over of Lucknow's innings. Rahul gets perished in a search of big hit as the LSG skipper tried to up the ante.

Andrew Tye continues and Sarfaraz hits the first ball towards backward point for a single.

At Last Pant breaks the shackles as he smashes the next two balls straight down the ground for a FOUR and a SIX. Pant ends the over with another powerfull hit down the ground for SIX.

The spinners have stemmed the run-flow after the flury from Prithvi Shaw. Pant and Powell are not able to maneuver the strike. Gowtham concedes only three singles in his third over.

Sarfaraz comes at the crease after collects a couple of runs towards deep extra cover while reverse sweeps the last ball of the over towards third man for FOUR.

KL Rahul brings Bishnoi against the two overseas players and the leggie does the job for Lucknow. Bishnoi gets Warner's wicket for the third time in IPL history. Warner's return to Delhi camp ends not as expected.

Gowtham is back in the attack and Shaw dances down the track off the first delivery for a biggie down the ground. Shaw goes inside out off the next delivery for FOUR.

Gowtham goes around the wicket and Shaw tries to cut the ball outside off but manages only a thin edge. A fiery innings comes to an end. Shaw hits nine Fours and two Sixes in his 61-run innings.

Krunal Pandya comes into the attack and Shaw collects a single off the first delivery. Warner gives the strike back to Shaw next ball. Shaw goes inside out off the 4th delivery and collects a couple of runs, completing his fifty. Warner has scored only 4 runs in 57-run stand.

Rahul uses his fifth bowler inside the powerplay and this time Andrew Tye comes into the attack. Shaw chips the second ball down the ground for a couple of runs while whacks the 4th ball over backward point for FOUR.

After Avesh Khan's expensive first over, Rahul brings Leggie Ravi Bishnoi in the attack and Shaw fails to score off the first two deliveries. 

But Shaw finds a way to hit a boundary as he cuts the ball outside off for FOUR.

"Anrich Nortje has been going incredibly well over the last couple of weeks, since he's arrived here in India. And he has passed his fitness test to be available for selection," said Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson on the eve of the game.

KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, the two enormously gifted cricketers, earmarked as future India captains will be showcasing their tactical acumen when newcomers Lucknow Super Giants square off with Delhi Capitals in an IPL match on Thursday.

Rahul and Pant, both match-winners in their own rights even with the bat, will like to seize the initiative in these early rounds.

IPL is a great platform where a good exhibition of meticulous homework, informed decision making with a dash of punt at critical junctures will hold any leader in good stead.

India will be playing a lot of cricket in next few years and with national captain Rohit Sharma's workload management is paramount, Rahul and Pant will both like to make a strong case for themselves going into the future.
