Delhi Capitals 148-9 after 19 Overs, need 24 more runs to win in 6 balls.

Mohammed Shami [3.0-0-27-0] is back into the attack and gets the wicket of Powell and Khaleel on consecutive deliveries and virtually ends Delhi's hope. Mustafizur Rahman, left handed bat, comes to the crease and survives the hattrick ball.

Mustafizur suvives the last ball as Jayant Yadav drops a sitter at fine leg.

Delhi  145-9 after 18 Overs, need 27 more runs to win in 18 balls

Lockie Ferguson bowls his last over of the match and concedes eight runs.

Delhi 142-7, need 30 more runs in 18 balls.

Rashid Khan [3.0-0-22-0] is back into the attack and concedes eight runs before trapping Shardul Thakur in front of wicket. 

Delhi Capitals in deep trouble, 134-7 after 16 Overs

Hardik Pandya brings Ferguson into the attack and the Kiwi bowler removed the Delhi Capitals off the first delivery as Pant looks to hoick the ball. 

Axar Patel arrives at the crease and blocks the yorker while drives the 3rd ball through mid-off for FOUR. Ferguson follows up with a short delivery and Axar pulls it over mid-wicket for FOUR. A back of length delivery down the leg side and Axar manages only a thin edge to keeper, GONE. WHAT AN OVER, WICKET, FOURS, WICKETS AGAIN.

Shardul comes at the crease and hits the last ball of the over towards extra cover for no run.

Delhi Capitals 126-6 after 15 Overs

Hardik Pandya brings Rahul Tewatia into the attack and Pant smashes the first ball towards point boundary for FOUR. Pant collects a single off the second ball.

Powell powers the third ball for SIX and nearly gets runout in search of a single off the the 5th delivery. Pant collects a single to end the over.

Delhi Capitals: 118-4 after 14 Overs, need 54 more runs to win in 36 balls

Rashid Khan [2.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack and concedes only five singles.

Delhi Capitals 105-4 after 13 Overs, need 67 more runs to win in 42 balls

Vijay Shankar, right-arm medium, comes into the attack and Pant guides the first ball between short third man and backward point for FOUR. 

Pant guides the second ball over short fine leg for FOUR while misses the third in search of big hit. A promising looking Lalit Yadav gets runout and the 61-run stand ends.

Rovman Powell, right handed bat, comes to the crease and he nearly gets runout as Pant calls for yet another risky single. Powerll cuts the first ball he faced through backward point for FOUR. 

DC: 100-4 after 12 Overs

Hardik Pandya brings himself back into the attack and concedes seven runs.

Delhi Capitals 86-3 after 11 Overs

Lalit is continuing from where he left in the previous match as he slog sweeps Rashid Khan for a flat SIX just over deep mid-wicket fielder.

Despite getting hit for a boundary early in the over, Rashid concedes only eight runs in the over.

Delhi 79-3 after 10 Overs

Varun Aaron, right-arm fast, comes into the attack and concedes eight runs, including a boundary to Pant. 

DC: 71-3 after 9 Overs, need 101 more runs in 66 balls to win 

Pandya brings in Shami to get more wickets in the powerplay. But last match hero Lalit Yadav finds two boundaries in the over before somehow surviving the quick bumper off the last delivery. 

Delhi 43-3 after 6 Overs

Lockie Ferguson, right-arm fast, comes into the attack and gets the wicket of Prithvi Shaw, who tries to pull the short delivery but gets beaten by the pace and manages only a top edge. Shankar completes the catch deep square leg.

Prithvi Shaw arrives at the crease after the Shaw's departure and taps the first ball he faced towards third man for a single. 

Ferguson removes Mandeep Singh too as the batter gets beaten by the pace like Shaw. Delhi lose three wickets in the powerplay and now they are in a desperate need of a big stand. Lalit Yadav and Rishabh Pant are at the crease at the end of 5 Overs. Delhi 34-3

Mandeep accelerates as Hardik Pandya bowls his second over. Mandeep hits the back of length delivery over short third man for FOUR. Mandeep smashes the last ball for FOUR as Delhi getting the required momentum after a dry spell.

Delhi 32-1 after 4 Overs

Gujarat Titans not allowing Delhi batters to score in the powerplay as they concede only 14 runs in 2.4 overs. Mandeep Singh break the shackles and hits Shami's 5th ball of his 2nd over over covers for FOUR followed by a single towards deep third man. 

Delhi 20-1 after 3 Overs

Prithvi Shaw and Seifert are at the crease. Prithvi Shaw is on strike. Shami opens the attack.

Mustafizur Rahman [3.0-0-20-1] bowls the last over and concedes only four runs and takes two wickets as Gujarat post 171-6.

Shardul Thakur bowls the penaltimate over and concedes 12 runs as Tewatia smashes the last ball for SIX. 

Gujarat 167-4 after 19 Overs

In a search of big hit in the death over, Gill goes for a biggie off the first ball of Khaleel's final over but fails to clear deep mid-wicket fielder, GONE. Shubman Gill c Axar b Khaleel Ahmed 84(46) [4s-6 6s-4]

Rahul Tewatia arrives at the crease and collects a single towards deep fine leg. David Miller guides the back of length delivery towards third man for FOUR. Tewatia smashes the 5th ball for FOUR before Khaleel completes his full quota of overs with a DOT ball.

Gujarat 155-4 after 18 Overs

Shubman Gill is 16 runs away from his first IPL century.

Mustafizur Rahman bowls the 17th over and concedes nine runs in doubles and singles.

Gujarat 145-7 after 17 Overs

Kuldeep again starts with a loose delivery and Gill pounces on it, smashing the full delivery straight down the ground for SIX. 

Miller too joins the party and hits the 4th ball towards backward point for FOUR. Kuldeep ends the over with two DOT deliveries.

Gujarat 120-3 after 15 Overs

Khaleel Ahmed [2.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack and Shubman Gill greets him with two back-to-back boundaries off the first two deliveries. 

Khaleel gets the prized wicket of Hardik Pandya off the last delivery as the Gujarat captain tries to smash down the ground but failed to clear long-on. Rovman Powell completes the catch on second attempt.

Gujarat: 109-3 after 14 Overs

In a desperate attempt to break Pandya-Gill stand, Rishabh Pant brings Kuldeep Yadav back into the attack but the chinnaman bowler starts with a half tracker. Gill hits it towards fine leg boundary for FOUR.

Kuldeep comes back strongly and concedes only five runs in remaining five deliveries. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill reaches his fifty-run mark.

Gujarat: 98-2 after 13 overs

After the rebuilding phase, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya are accelerating the run scoring and collects 14 runs, including a two FOURS and two doubles, from Shardul Thakur's 3rd over.

Pant brings Khaleel Ahmed back into the attack and Hardik Pandya pulls the second ball of the over towards deep mid-wicket for FOUR.

Khaleel comes back brilliantly and beats Pandya on two occasions. Pandya collects a double and single to end the over.

At first strategic break, Gujarat Titans' innings is moving at snail pace. They are scoring at the rate of 6.44 rpo despite having Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya at the crease.

Kuldeep Yadav continues his superb run in the ongoing Indian Premier League as the chinnaman bowler castles Shankar first ball. Hardik Pandya arrives at the crease next and edges the second ball he faced between first slip and keeper for FOUR. 

Gujarat 51-2 after 7 Overs

At the end of powerplay, Gujarat Titans lost only wicket and scored 

Shubman Gill trying to accelerate as he smashes Axar Patel's 2nd ball for SIX in front of square leg while collects a single off the next. Shankar hits the 4th ball down the ground for a couple of runs. 

Axar ends the over with two DOT BALLS.

A fresh pitch will be used today and it is on the corner of the square, making one boundary side big. The turf looks almost same as the one used in the last game. Lot of grass and it looks firm.

With a strong top-order batting, besides a well-balanced bowling unit, the Capitals have all the tools required to embark on a winning run early on in the competition, so they certainly start as favourites against Titans.

Besides, the fact that DC managed to overcome the Mumbai challenge without a few key players, including flamboyant Australian all-rounder David Warner and Mitchell Marsh and South African duo of Ngidi and Anrich Nortje, only adds to their confidence and makes the win more praiseworthy.

The win against LSG first up is definitely a huge confidence booster, but in Delhi Capitals, Titans face a more seasoned opponents, who have established themselves as one of the top sides in recent years, with their swashbuckling batter-keeper Rishabh Pant as the leader on the field and Australian legend Ricky Ponting guiding them from behind the scene.

Injury-plagued DC will gain strength further in both bowling and batting, with the likely inclusion of Lungi Ngidi, Mustafizur Rahman and Sarfaraz Khan, who have completed their three-day quarantine.

The trio's return will bolster the Delhi outfit against an opponent that gave enough indications of its ability to not just compete with the best but also pull off the result it desires. In their five-wicket defeat, K L Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants came to know what the Titans are capable of.

So irrespective of the four-wicket victory over five-time champions Mumbai Indians in their tournament opener, DC know it too well that they just cannot afford to take the foot off the pedal.

The winners of their season openers, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals will face each other in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League on Saturday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

While Gujarat came out on top in the clash of the new teams vs Lucknow Super Giants, it will be an uphill task from here on for the Hadik Pandya-led side. In the presence of Mohammad Shami, Rashid khan and Lockie Fergusson, the debut team has a potent bowling line-up, but they lack power in their batting department which almost cost them their first match against Lucknow Super Giants.
