'$1000 for each info to Chinese intel': police on arrested journalist

The Delhi Police said on Sunday that Global Times contributor Rajeev Sharma was passing sensitive information about India's border strategy and Army deployment to Chinese intelligence and classified defence documents have been seized from him. In a press conference, the police said the Chinese intelligence had contacted Sharma, who is a freelance journalist, in 2016 and he was arrested after inputs were provided by the central intelligence agencies. In one-and-a-half years, the police said Sharma received ₹40 lakh from the Chinese intelligence, and the money was passed to him by the arrested Chinese woman and her Nepalese associate through shell companies. The police said Sharma was paid $1,000 for each information.
