AI can tell if you're lonely just by listening to your voice

In another one win for artificial intelligence, a study has found new proof suggesting AI is capable of predicting levels of loneliness in people.

The research by UC San Diego reveals that speech analysis AI can detect levels of loneliness in older adults by just listening to them.

For the assessment published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, the team gathered 80 older adults and interviewed them for 90 minutes. The recordings were then analysed by IBM's natural language system that didn't just assess loneliness levels but was even able to find nuances between how men and women talk about loneliness differently.

Turns out, AI had a 94% accuracy in predicting the way the speaker was feeling.
