      Social media platforms are turning out to be the space for SOS calls amid the grim Covid-19 situation in the country. The space is also losing a bit of its glitz and glamour with celebrities bidding adieu to it. Here's a list of celebrities who have either taken a break from social media or have decided to quit it amid the Covid crisis.

      Aamir Khan

      Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan decided to quit social media in March 2021. The actor made the announcement a day after his 56th birthday and said that his fans will get updates about his life and films on the official social media handle of Aamir Khan Productions. Aamir also revealed that he decided to 'drop the pretense' considering he wasn’t that active as much anyway. The 'Laal Singh Chaddha' actor revealed that he is quitting social media to focus on his work.

      Fatima Sana Shaikh
      Weeks after Aamir Khan announced his departure from social media, his 'Dangal' co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh followed suit and took a break from social media. The 'Ajeeb Daastaans' actress did not share her reason.

      Amit Sadh
      'Breathe' actor Amit Sadh had announced that he is temporarily going off social media. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Sadh said that posts, videos and the silly things on social media will not heal or entertain anyone amid the increasing Covid-19 cases.

      Esha Gupta
      Actress Esha Gupta also bid goodbye to her after the dangerous Covid wave struck. However, she informed that her accounts will remain active and will be managed by her team so that necessary help to fight Covid can be offered.

      'Loveyatri' actress Warina Hussain recently announced her exit from social media. She quoted Aamir Khan as she shared a post on Instagram, assuring her fans that her team will keep everyone updated about her upcoming films.

      Sushant Singh
      Actor Sushant Singh has also taken a break from social media. Sharing a post, the 'Savdhaan India' actor revealed that he wanted to ‘reboot’ himself.
