Apple, Google remove PUBG Mobile from their app stores

Apple and Google have removed PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite from their respective app stores within two days of their ban in the country.

Both the apps can no longer be found on Play Store or App Store but they continue to remain operational for those who already have it downloaded.

The popular battle royale game had over 175 million users in India alone, with over 50 million of them battling it out daily.

To recall, PUBG Mobile is among 118 additional Chinese apps banned by the Indian government for engaging in activities "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order".
