Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Friday that his country will raise international arrivals caps to allow more Australians to return home.
Morrison told reporters that this will be done in a staged manner from September 27 after the state governments agreed to the rise in hotel quarantine caps.
New South Wales will welcome an extra 500 arrivals by Monday, while Queensland and Western Australia will take on another 200 per week. The overall cap on arrivals will increase from 4000 to 6000.
