Contactless e-ticketing in Delhi buses from November: reports

Contactless e-ticketing services may soon be a possibility in all Delhi buses come November, a Hindustan Times report stated citing Delhi transport minister Kailash Gahlot.

The news comes after the transport department completed the second phase of its contactless ticket project.

In the second phase, a mobile app called 'Chartr' was trialled and received a good response. A system that enables users without smartphones to buy tickets and daily along with monthly passes is also in the pipeline, the report added.

The app will enable users to see all stops of the bus, its expected time of arrival and select a free pink ticket for female passengers. The time of arrival will get updated in real time.
