Cops to Bombay HC: Raj Kundra was arrested as he started destroying evidence

The Bombay High Court on Saturday adjourned a hearing on a plea filed by actor Shilpa Shetty's businessman husband Raj Kundra alleging that his arrest in the porn films case was illegal as he was not served legal notices as per law.

Responding to Kundra's allegations, the Mumbai police told the HC that 51 pornographic films were seized along with material from personal laptops, cellphones and storage devices.

The police added that they couldn't be a mute spectator while the accused were destroying evidence and hence arrested them to prevent the same.

Kundra, along with his associate Ryan Thorpe who was arrested by Mumbai Police has sought interim bail pending the hearing of his plea seeking quashing of the case.
