Couple in Odisha fed 500 street dogs to celebrate their wedding

To celebrate their wedding, Bhubaneswar-based couple Eureka Apta and Joanna Wang did something extraordinary!

The duo, who tied the knot on the 25th of September, organised a special meal for 500 street dogs in the city in collaboration with a local animal rescue organisation called Animal Welfare Trust Ekamra.

After a simple temple wedding, pilot-turned filmmaker Mr. Apta and Dentist Ms Wang wanted to make it a grand feast for the dogs, an inspiration that came from their visit to an animal shelter. The drive was also conducted in memory of Apta's late mother and Wang's grandfather.

Their story struck a chord with many on social media! The 'wedding-with-a-difference' they hope will inspire others and build awareness on the needs of specially-abled dogs and the curse of illegal breeding.
