Did Delhi government inflate oxygen need at the peak of the Covid second wave?

It did, says a panel set up by the Supreme Court for Oxygen audit after the crisis in April-May led to thousands of deaths.

The oxygen audit team has informed the top court that the Kejriwal government exaggerated the oxygen requirement in Delhi by more than four times during the April 25-May 10 peak period of the second Covid-19 wave, The Times of India has reported. The panel has reported told the court that supply of excess oxygen to the Capital could have affected supply to 12 high caseload states.

The panel has said that there was a gross discrepancy. The actual oxygen consumption claimed by the Delhi government was about four times higher than the calculated consumption as per the formula based on bed capacity, the report said.
