Ex-Navy officer beaten for sharing Uddhav Thackeray cartoon

Shiv Sena workers allegedly beat up a retired Navy officer for sharing a cartoon mocking Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The video shows six goons barge inside a residential property, drag veteran Madan Sharma out by the collar and slap him in the face multiple times. The victim has filed an FIR in the matter at the Samta Nagar Police Station in Kandivali. Six people have been arrested in the case. They were however later released on bail.

The victim's daughter alleged that after the incident, police came to their house to take Sharma with them. Madan Sharma, speaking to ANI, said every individual has the freedom to express and Whatsapp is a medium to share information. He demanded that Govt should take measures to identify the source of a message.

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar accused the chief minister of running a dictatorship in the state. Also reacting to the incident, former CM Devendra Fadnavis asked CM Thackeray to stop the 'gundaraj'.
