Hathras case: upper caste villagers demand 'justice for accused'

Hundreds of people from the dominating Thakur community staged a protest in support of accused in the Hathras rape case, several news reports said.

They demanded justice for four men accused of gang-raping the 19-year-old girl from Hathras. The protest took place outside the victim's village in Hathras district on Sunday.

The demand came days after the postmortem report said the girl, who belongs to the Scheduled Castes, was not raped.

The dominant caste group demanded an unbiased probe into the matter by SIT formed by the state government.
