India Covid update: 34,403 new Covid cases, 12.5 % higher than Thursday

India reported 34,403 fresh cases of Covid on Friday, taking the cumulative total of the cases in the country to over 3.33 crore, as per the health ministry. The new cases recorded are 12.5 per cent lower compared to Thursday.

The death toll due to the viral disease shot up to over 4.44 lakh.

At 3,39,056, active cases constitute 1.02% of total cases, while the national Covid recovery rate stands at 97.65%.

The daily positivity rate, which has been less than 3 per cent for the last 18 days, now stands at 2.25 per cent while the weekly positivity rate has been less than 3 per cent for the last 84 days.

Further, over 77.24 crore vaccine doses have been administered since the nationwide vaccination drive began earlier this year.
