India sees lowest daily spike in Covid cases in 45 days, active cases drop by a lakh

The declining trend in new covid-19 cases continues. In the last 24 hours, 1.73 lakh fresh infections were reported, the lowest daily spike in 45 days

Active caseload further declined to little over 22 lakhs and active cases fell by 1,14,428. India also logged 3,617 deaths in the last 24 hours taking total Covid fatalities to over 3.22 lakh.

The union health ministry data showed on Saturday, the recovery rate has increased to 90.80%. The weekly positive rate currently stands at 9.84% while the daily rate is at 8.36%. The positivity rate stayed less than 10% for 5 consecutive days.

A total of 20.8 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far, according to the govt.
