Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday attacked the government asking why no data has been maintained on healthcare staff who were affected by Covid-19 or died from it.
Rahul said it is an insult to corona warriors of the country. The Congress leader's jibe comes after Minister of State for Health Ashwini Choubey informed the Rajya Sabha this week that health is a state subject and so data is not maintained by the Centre.
Referring to PM's campaigns honouring 'corona warriors', Gandhi tweeted, safety and respect of healthcare workers is more important than beating plates or lighting lamps.
According to the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package Insurance Scheme for healthcare workers fighting Covid-19, as many as 155 healthcare staff, including 64 doctors, have died due to the infection.
