Lok Sabha session ends before schedule, Speaker says productivity only 22%

Soon after it met for the day, the Lok Sabha on Wednesday was adjourned ahead of schedule. The Monsoon Session was scheduled to go on till 13th August

Speaker Om Birla said the "productivity" of the Monsoon Session was only 22 per cent owing to the opposition protests in the House which has been facing disruptions ever since it began on July 19.

The parliament proceedings have been hit over the last few weeks due to protests over the Pegasus snooping row, farm laws and other issues.

For the first time since the Monsoon Session began, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday witnessed a proper debate on a bill when the House took up the Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill, 2021, which seeks to restore states’ power to make their own OBC lists.
