Mumbai: new speed limit for highways, flyovers

In a bid to prevent accidents and to deal with the rising numbers of vehicles in the city, the Mumbai traffic police have revised speed limits for vehicles on 11 major flyovers, bridges and roads. While the speed limit on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link continues to be 80 km/h but drivers will have to reduce speeds to 35 and 40 km/h on the bends. The speed limits on the Western Express Higway and the Eastern Express Highway have been reduced to 70 km/h from the current 80 km/h, while it has been increased from 60 to 65 km/h on the Marine Drive
