National Security Advisor Ajit Doval walked out a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as Pakistan’s representative Mooed Yusuf presented a new map of Pakistan which shows Jammu and Kashmir as a part of the country. The Indian side led by Doval at the SCO national security advisors' meeting boycotted the move and left the meeting in protest. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan ‘deliberately projected a fictitious map which it has been propagating’ ‘which was in disregard of the advisory on it by host nation Russia and in violation of the norms’. The MEA said after consulting the host nation, the India side left the meeting in protest. Pakistan NSA Yusuf however claimed that Islamabad had responded in writing to India's objections. Yusuf claimed that Russia 'backed' Pakistan's stance and none of the countries participating in the conference objected to it.
