According to the findings, inhaling a pleasant odour could be enough to reduce the urge to smoke, at least temporarily, and could be used as a part of a smoking cessation plan. The research was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology. While smoking rates are declining, the rate of relapses still remain high.
