India on Tuesday reported a sharp drop in new coronavirus cases with the health ministry data showing over 61,000 new infections in the last 24 hours. The country had recorded over 74,000 new Covid cases just a day earlier. Total Covid case tally is now nearing 67 lakh. 884 deaths in the last 24 hours have taken the fatalities count to 1,03,569. The country now has over 9 lakh active cases and more than 56.6 lakh people have recovered with close to 76,000 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, health ministry data stated.
