While the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is capable of handling everyday tasks and moderate multitasking with ease, it feels like a safe, if not entirely innovative, choice.&nbsp;
However, the choice of storage on this smartphone is my primary gripe. The Vivo V50 utilises UFS 2.2 storage, which, for a device priced around ₹35,000, is not up to the mark.
In practical terms, this translates into occasional micro-stutters and a general sense that the phone isn&rsquo;t as responsive as one might expect in its price bracket.&nbsp;
While the device manages regular app launches and basic tasks adequately, the experience during more intensive operations is marred by these performance hiccups.
Running on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15, the Vivo V50 delivers a user interface that is feature-rich. However, it is not without its frustrations. The software comes pre-loaded with a fair amount of bloatware &ndash; apps and features that many users will likely find unnecessary and may need to uninstall to streamline the experience.&nbsp;
Also, while many modern smartphones now feature refined haptic feedback systems, the V50 disappoints in this department. Rather than offering the tactile precision that one might expect from a premium device, the V50 relies on a basic vibration motor. The resulting haptics feel noticeably underwhelming.
Despite these software issues, Vivo&rsquo;s commitment to three years of major Android updates and four years of security patches is a welcome assurance.&nbsp;
Cameras

The S25 sticks to a familiar design, featuring a 6.2-inch display, triple rear cameras, and a premium glass-and-aluminum build. It remains one of the most compact flagship Android phones, standing out in a market where devices like the Pixel 9 keep getting bigger.&nbsp;
The bezels are slightly smaller, but only by a fraction of a millimeter&mdash;nothing you&rsquo;d actually notice. It&rsquo;s still a well-built phone that lets Samsung&rsquo;s excellent display shine, but at this point, high-end smartphones are starting to look eerily similar.&nbsp;
Speaking of the display, the S25 sticks with the FHD AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate from the S24, along with the 2,600 nits peak brightness. It&rsquo;s bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly smooth when scrolling.

Google&rsquo;s Gemini has replaced Bixby as the default assistant when holding the power button&mdash;a welcome upgrade&mdash;but oddly, Bixby is still hanging around. It can tweak phone settings, but having two assistants feels redundant. Why not just let Gemini handle everything?
And honestly, Gemini is impressive. It can pull details from your screen and take action without extra taps. Need to book a meeting? Just ask, and it&rsquo;ll add the event straight from an email. Planning a trip? It can gather flight details, suggest hotels, and even draft a message to your travel buddies&mdash;all with a simple command. Whether it's summarizing a long article or pulling directions from a photo of a billboard, Gemini feels like a true AI assistant, not just a voice-activated search tool.
The other big AI upgrade is Now Brief, a lock screen or home screen widget that compiles info from various apps into a quick, AI-generated digest. It can include sleep scores, news, photos, and commute times, but the depth of insights depends on your notes, events, and connected devices.

Realme has been lightning-quick with its P-series updates. Less than a year since its inception, we are already on the third generation model.
But, this Realme P3 Pro is actually impressive for the price. It starts at ₹23,999 for the base 8GB+128GB variant, but you can get it for ₹21,999 with launch offers.
<h3>Realme P3 Pro Design, Display &amp; Audio</h3>
In fact, value for money hasn't been Realme&rsquo;s forte of late, but the P3 Pro completely changes that.
You can actually call it the Realme 14 Pro+ Lite, if that makes sense.&nbsp;
Okay, so the moment I unboxed the P3 Pro, it was obvious that it shares almost every design cue with the Realme 14 Pro+. From the dimensions to the button layout and even the subtle curves on the front and rear, both devices look like twins.&nbsp;
This is pretty awesome, since you are essentially getting the quality in-hand feel of the 14 Pro+, but at a more affordable price point. The P3 Pro is probably the best built smartphone in its segment despite being made of plastic.
Obviously, the camera island is different, because there isn&rsquo;t much emphasis on cameras on this thing, but we&rsquo;ll talk about that later.
So, the 14 Pro+ launched with a silly party trick, where putting it in icy water changed its rear pattern. Well, the P3 Pro also has a bespoke trick of its own.
This Nebular Glow colourway absorbs UV light and glows at night with this trippy texture. Realme says it mimics ultraviolet light interacting with oxygen atoms in space.
I'm not sure about the space part, but yeah, it looks super psychedelic.
If this is too much for you then worry not, because subtler colour options are on offer as well.&nbsp;
The P3 Pro is quite durable too: it features Gorilla Glass 7i protection on its display and offers up to an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.&nbsp;
Let&rsquo;s move onto the display now, which is quite great as well. By the way, this is also the same display as the Realme 14 Pro+.&nbsp;
So, you get a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel which is quad micro-curved. You also get symmetrical bezels which is quite a big deal on an affordable smartphone like this one.&nbsp;

Adding to the multimedia experience are dual stereo speakers. They&rsquo;re quite loud and offer decent bass, but the top end can sound harsh at high volumes. I suggest capping it at around 70% for the best audio balance.

Let&rsquo;s now talk about this phone&rsquo;s performance. This phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, which, as you&rsquo;ve guessed it, is also used on the Realme 14 Pro+. It is not a very powerful chip for the 14 Pro+, but it&rsquo;s quite great for the P3 Pro&rsquo;s segment.&nbsp;
It managed to score 8.3 lakh points on Antutu. Its CPU&rsquo;s stability performance is also pretty impressive when put under stress.
The 7s Gen 3 is perfectly capable of playing BGMI at 90fps. But best of all, we noticed no frame drops or overheating during our 30 minute gaming session. You can also bypass charging to keep temperatures in check while gaming.
On the software front, there is Realme UI 6 built on top of Android 15. Typical of most Realme phones, there are loads of pre-installed apps here, and those infamous hot apps &amp; games folders too.&nbsp;
However, as a whole, the UI is pretty smooth to navigate by segment standards, which is aided by UFS 3.1 storage.&nbsp;
The haptics on this device are also quite impressive for the price, which make typing and scrolling quite enjoyable.
Realme UI 6 has some pretty useful AI features as well, especially for photo editing and writing in the notes app.&nbsp;

Alright, it&rsquo;s time to shift focus on the camera system, which in fact is the only major area where the P3 Pro differs from the Realme 14 Pro+.
It does not get ultrawide and telephoto sensors: the three cutouts you see in the camera island include a flash, a 50MP primary sensor, plus a fairly pointless 2MP depth sensor.
The good news is that the primary sensor is the same IMX896 with OIS as seen on the Realme 14 Pro+. There&rsquo;s HyperImage+ post processing too.

I was thoroughly impressed by this camera&rsquo;s detail retention and dynamic range across multiple scenarios. Design and Build
The OnePlus 13 looks familiar yet modern. It is flatter compared to the OnePlus 12, but it keeps slight curves along the front and back. These gentle curves help with grip, making the device more comfortable to hold.&nbsp;
It is not as large as some oversized flagships, so it fits in hand relatively well.
The back panel carries the distinct OnePlus look, but the camera island is no longer merged with the phone&rsquo;s frame. While this change might remove some uniqueness from the design, it still manages to appear sleek.&nbsp;

The primary camera is 50MP and is carried over from the OnePlus 12. It captures sharp photos with boosted contrast and that slightly warm tone we expect from Hasselblad.&nbsp;
The dynamic range is mostly strong, so bright skies and darker areas in the same shot appear well-exposed. In low-light situations, the sensor handles highlights effectively, preserving detail without excessive noise.
Videos are quite stable with good dynamic range, however, the phone does struggle with autofocus in tricky situations.
OnePlus has introduced a new ultrawide camera, also at 50MP. It captures a broad scene with minimal distortion at the edges. Colours stay consistent with the main camera, which is a challenge some phones fail to achieve.&nbsp;
Even at night or in dim interiors, the ultrawide remains usable, though you might spot a bit more grain. This sensor can also take some pretty decent macro photos.
This 50MP telephoto lens replaces the older 64MP telephoto from the OnePlus 12. It still provides a 3x optical zoom. Portrait shots look detailed, and the edge detection is usually accurate.

Verdict
The Oppo Reno 13 Pro excels in camera performance, particularly with its telephoto lens and selfie capabilities. Its sleek design and comfortable form factor are also positive attributes.
However, the performance is not quite flagship-level, and the software includes some bloatware.

Can the new Poco X7 Pro and X7 match or exceed their predecessors to become the best value phones in the ₹20,000-30,000 price range?

We've got the new Poco X7 series in the house and there's a lot to talk about here.
The X7 Pro succeeds last year&rsquo;s Poco X6 Pro, which was quite a powerhouse in the ₹20,00-30,000 range. So, can the X7 Pro, with its new Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip, recreate the magic?&nbsp;
And what about the standard X7, does it also hold its ground?
Design
Let&rsquo;s start with the design because, honestly, it&rsquo;s interesting to say the least. Usually, phones in the same series have at least some family resemblance, right? But not here! These two phones couldn&rsquo;t be more different, whether you&rsquo;re looking at them from the front or the back.
Take the standard X7, for instance. It closely resembles the recently launched Redmi Note 14 Pro. That&rsquo;s because it&rsquo;s essentially the same phone, just dressed in Poco&rsquo;s branding and &nbsp;a different colour scheme.
The X7 Pro, on the other hand, sports a different design language. It is much flatter compared to the X7. Both models feature a vegan leather back with loud yellow-black colour combinations, which is either a love or hate situation for users. You can opt for subtler colours if you like.
If you overlook this big Poco logo, the cheaper X7 actually looks and feels the more premium of the two phones. Its curved front and rear feel great in hand, while the centrally placed camera island looks far better than the Pro&rsquo;s pill-shaped module.
Additionally, the standard X7 has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for its display, whereas the Pro gets the inferior Gorilla Glass 7i - go figure!
There&rsquo;s more: the standard X7 includes an extra 2MP macro sensor, which is missing on the Pro model. So, aesthetically, the X7 Pro surprisingly feels less impressive compared to its more affordable sibling.
Thankfully, both phones come with an IP69 rating, which is great to have. The standard model also features an IR blaster and a reliable optical fingerprint reader on both models.
Display
Moving on, the X7 boasts a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the Pro version has a slightly larger 6.73-inch flat panel, which is better suited for gaming. Both panels are Widevine L1 certified and support HDR 10+, ensuring a great viewing experience.
However, the X7 has a warmer tint to its display. Both panels are bright enough for outdoor use, with the Pro model reaching an HBM brightness of 1400 nits and the standard X7 at 1200 nits.
Performance &amp; Software
So, since the standard X7 is essentially a rebranded Redmi Note 14 Pro, it is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip. It&rsquo;s an efficient mid-range chip, scoring over 600,000 on AnTuTu. But despite the "Ultra" in its name, this chip isn&rsquo;t designed for heavy tasks.
The real star, however, is the brand new Dimensity 8400 Ultra in the Poco X7 Pro. Like its predecessor, it aims to offer flagship-grade performance in the sub-₹30,000 segment. The Antutu and Geekbench scores place it between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3 in terms of raw performance, which is fantastic for the price. Please watch the video for benchmark scores.
It glides through BGMI at 60fps in testing without much issue. There was support for 90fps on BGMI at launch, Poco claims it will be added soon.? Heating was non-existent during gaming, although it's worth noting that it was extremely cold in Delhi at the time of my testing.
Anyway, the X7 Pro is generally a snappy phone to use thanks to its UFS 4.0 storage, which means apps load quickly. The standard X7, however, has UFS 2.2 storage and a lower mid-range chip, which results in micro stutters across the UI from time to time.
The software experience on both models is a mixed bag. The X7 Pro runs the latest HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, while the X7 uses the older Android 14-based HyperOS 1.
Both phones come loaded with a ton of preinstalled apps, which makes the app drawer feel quite crowded. On top of that, system app notifications and the Glance lock screen add to the clutter, making the software experience feel less streamlined.
Poco has also added AI features in the Notes and Gallery apps on the X7 Pro. They have potential but could use a little more fine-tuning to deliver their best experience.
Cameras
Now let&rsquo;s shed some light on the camera capabilities. Both phones feature the same Sony LYT-600 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Interestingly, the standard X7 includes an additional 2MP macro sensor, but it&rsquo;s irrelevant in everyday use.

Despite having the same primary sensor, both phones produce very different photos, likely due to different ISPs in the chipsets. The X7&rsquo;s photos have a softer look and slightly muted colors, while the Pro&rsquo;s images are sharper but can occasionally feel a bit over-processed.
Videos from the main sensor are suitable for casual social uploads, though they don&rsquo;t pack a lot of fine detail.
The 8MP ultrawide performs well on both devices, though the color profiles vary between the two.
As for selfies, the 20MP front camera also shows some differences. The X7 takes the lead here, as the X7 Pro sometimes struggles to properly expose the subject&rsquo;s face.
Battery &amp; Charging
Finally, when it comes to battery and charging, the Poco X7 Pro impresses with its massive 6550mAh battery thanks to cutting-edge Silicon Carbon technology. This allows it to stay impressively slim and light.
A screen time of around 9 hours with mixed to heavy use is easily achievable on this phone. Plus, with 90W fast charging support, recharging doesn&rsquo;t take much time either.
The standard Poco X7 has a comparatively smaller but still impressive 5500mAh battery. It supports 45W fast charging, which is quite adequate for its segment.
Verdict
Ultimately, neither of these two phones are great camera phones, nor do they offer amazing software. However, the Poco X7 Pro is quite a deal and it is totally worth it to stretch your budget a bit over the standard X7. &nbsp;
The Pro offers a much more powerful chip, UFS 4.0 storage, and a significantly bigger battery compared to the standard X7.
The standard X7 offers great value at a lower price point. It also looks and feels more premium than the Pro model, but that&rsquo;s about it.
So, if you&rsquo;re after flagship-grade performance for mid-range money, the X7 Pro is the way to go.&nbsp;

At ₹59,900, this is still a premium phone, but it&rsquo;s also the most approachable way to get into the iOS ecosystem with Apple&rsquo;s latest hardware.
It&rsquo;s a phone that makes some interesting choices: it gets a 48MP main camera but loses the second lens, it has the latest A18 chip but lacks a high-refresh-rate display, and it adopts wireless charging but ditches MagSafe. &nbsp;
It&rsquo;s a mix of upgrades and trade offs, and whether or not it works for you depends on how much you care about what&rsquo;s missing. Let's break it down further!
<h3>&nbsp;Design &amp; Build: A Familiar Look</h3>
The iPhone 16e&rsquo;s flat-sided design is instantly familiar&mdash;it follows the same design language Apple has stuck to since the iPhone 12. The back glass, however, gets a sophisticated textured matte finish, which not only looks more refined but also makes the phone feel more premium in hand.&nbsp;
Unlike most modern iPhones, there&rsquo;s no prominent camera bump here&mdash;just a single lens sitting flush with the back. I&rsquo;ve been testing the white variant, and while there&rsquo;s also a black option, that&rsquo;s it for colour choices&mdash;at least for now.
The iPhone 16e&rsquo;s display feels like d&eacute;j&agrave; vu&mdash;it&rsquo;s essentially the same 6.1-inch screen as the one on the iPhone 14. It keeps the old-school notch at the top, housing the selfie camera and Face ID sensors.
The notch itself isn&rsquo;t particularly intrusive, but after using Dynamic Island on other iPhones, I found myself missing its handy background activity updates, like timers or live delivery tracking. &nbsp;

But&hellip; it&rsquo;s still 60Hz.
That&rsquo;s a little frustrating in 2025, considering how even mid-range Android phones now offer at least 90Hz or 120Hz. The animations and scrolling still feel smooth thanks to iOS optimizations, but once you&rsquo;ve experienced high refresh rates, going back feels like a step down.
<h3>The A18 Chip Delivers (Of Course)</h3>
The A18 chip inside the iPhone 16e is Apple&rsquo;s latest and greatest, only slightly dialed down from the one inside the standard iPhone 16. It&rsquo;s fast, efficient, and overkill for most people.
Gaming? Runs flawlessly. Even demanding titles like Genshin Impact play smoothly. Multitasking? No hiccups. Everyday tasks? Effortless.
You&rsquo;re getting flagship-level performance in Apple&rsquo;s most affordable new iPhone, which is pretty impressive. This also means it&rsquo;ll stay fast for years, easily handling software updates for a long time.
And speaking of longevity, this is the first iPhone with Apple&rsquo;s new C1 modem&mdash;a big deal, considering Apple has been relying on Qualcomm for years. While real-world testing showed small improvements in call quality and network reliability, this shift is more about Apple controlling its own silicon ecosystem.
<h3>Battery Life: Small Upgrades, Big Gains</h3>
Apple claims the iPhone 16e has the best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone&mdash;and after using it, I believe them. I consistently hit 7 hours of screen time on busy days, which is better than the iPhone 15 and even some Pro models from the past.
The new C1 modem seems to be more power-efficient, helping extend battery life during streaming, calls, and everyday use.
Charging, though? That&rsquo;s where things get weird.
Yes, the iPhone 16e has 20W wired charging and USB-C, but Apple removed MagSafe. That&rsquo;s right&mdash;no MagSafe wireless charging, which feels like a strange omission.
Sure, it still supports standard wireless charging, but losing MagSafe at this price is disappointing, especially since it was a major selling point for accessories and charging docks.
<h3>More Megapixels, But Less Cameras</h3>
The biggest change on the iPhone 16e is the 48MP main camera. It&rsquo;s a significant upgrade from previous budget iPhones, capturing sharper photos, better low-light shots, and crisp 2x zoom images.

The Vivo T4x is here, and I&rsquo;ve got to say&mdash;it&rsquo;s packing some serious heat! From a massive battery to a sleek design and solid performance, this phone is trying to shake up the sub-15K segment.
I&rsquo;ve been using it for over a week now, and I&rsquo;m ready to tell you if it&rsquo;s actually worth your money.
<h3>Battery Beast!</h3>
Let&rsquo;s start with the biggest highlight&mdash;the battery. Vivo has gone all out with a 6500mAh battery, and that&rsquo;s HUGE. But a big battery usually means longer charging times, right? Well, not really.
The T4x comes with 44W Flash Charge, and yes, you get the adapter inside the box! It takes about 40 minutes to go from 1% to 50%, which is pretty solid.
As for battery life, it easily lasts around a day and a half with normal usage. Even if you push it hard with gaming, social media, and video streaming, it still holds up with more than seven hours of screen-on time. No battery anxiety here!
<h3>Design</h3>
The unit I have is in Pronto Purple, but if that&rsquo;s not your style, there&rsquo;s also Marine Blue. The phone looks premium, and despite the massive battery, it&rsquo;s surprisingly slim at 8.09mm. It does weigh 204 grams, but the weight is well distributed, so it never felt uncomfortable in my hand.
The back has a nice matte finish, while the camera island gets a glossy touch. I like this contrast&mdash;it gives the phone a premium feel. That said, I do wish the camera module was a bit smaller for a more refined look.
But the real showstopper is the dynamic light feature. It flashes different colours for notifications, calls, and even while charging. It&rsquo;s not just a gimmick&mdash;it&rsquo;s actually useful, and it looks cool too.
Durability is also a big plus here. The T4x has an IP64 rating, so it&rsquo;s resistant to dust and water. Even if your hands are wet, the touch response stays smooth. The phone has also&nbsp;passed a military-grade shock resistance test, so it should survive a few accidental drops without an issue.
<h3>Display with Loud Speakers</h3>
The Vivo T4x features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the experience is great. Scrolling is smooth, animations look clean, and colors pop nicely. With 1050 nits of peak brightness, outdoor visibility is no problem.
And if you love watching content, you&rsquo;re in for a treat. The dual stereo speakers on this phone get insanely loud&mdash;they can boost volume by up to 400%. It&rsquo;s perfect for music, videos, or even gaming without headphones.
<h3>Performance</h3>
Under the hood, the T4x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300&mdash;the same chipset found in the CMF Phone 1. What makes this exciting is that this chip is usually reserved for phones in the 20K price range, so seeing it here is a big win.
In my testing, the phone handled everything smoothly, and the 8GB of RAM in my unit made multitasking a breeze. BGMI runs at 60fps with no frame drops, and day-to-day performance feels snappy.
Benchmarks back it up too, with an Antutu score of 690,000. Plus, the CPU throttling test showed no major heating or performance drops.
You get 128GB and 256GB storage options, and I&rsquo;d strongly recommend going for the 256GB variant because there&rsquo;s no expandable storage here.&nbsp;

The primary rear camera takes decent outdoor shots, but when it comes to human subjects, it tends to soften and brighten skin tones a bit too much. Sometimes, the photos even look like oil paintings.
Portrait mode does a good job with objects, but edge detection isn&rsquo;t the best. And in 2x mode, there&rsquo;s an odd issue where the camera randomly removes fine details, like hair on the hand.
Surprisingly, the Vivo T4x 5G holds its own in low-light photography. Shots come out with a good amount of detail, and the noise is kept in check.&nbsp;
The selfie camera performs well too, producing natural-looking photos with good portrait mode effects. Video recording goes up to 4K at 30fps with stabilization, which is a welcome feature at this price point.&nbsp;

How much does it score on AnTuTu? Does it stay cool under pressure? How does it handle gaming and is it significantly better than the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3?&nbsp;
To start with, let&rsquo;s break down what makes this chipset special. It&rsquo;s called the Snapdragon 8 Elite because it now incorporates eight Orion cores, with two clocked at a blazing 4.32 GHz and six at 3.53 GHz.&nbsp;
This upgrade pushes the clock speeds well beyond what we saw in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and even Apple's latest A18 Pro chip in their new iPhones.
Plus, Realme has upgraded the GPU and introduced a new AI engine with the Snapdragon 8 Elite on the GT 7 Pro.&nbsp;
On paper, this makes it one of the most powerful setups out there. But let&rsquo;s see how it actually performs in benchmarks.&nbsp;

We started with the AnTuTu test, where I was hoping it would hit that 3 million mark as per reports.&nbsp;

This still marks a 20-24% leap over last year&rsquo;s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which hit a peak of around 2.1 million on the iQOO 12.

On the Geekbench CPU test, the Snapdragon 8 Elite flexes its power, achieving 2932 points in single-core and a whopping 9043 in multi-core tests. For GPU performance, it stands strong with an impressive 16807 on the OpenCL score.
To check its sustained performance, I ran a CPU throttling test on the Realme GT 7 Pro.&nbsp;
Over a 15-minute, 20-thread test, the phone throttled down to about 74%.&nbsp;

In Geekbench, the scores show clear improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in both OpenCL and Vulkan tests, which is promising.

But for a real GPU workout, I turned to 3DMark's Wildlife Extreme benchmark, which runs for 20 minutes to test sustained graphics power.&nbsp;
Here, the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored an impressive 5893&mdash;a noticeable upgrade over the 8 Gen 3. The GT 7 Pro achieved a stability rating of 71.7% in this test.
During these tests, temperatures did spike, reaching the 45-degree Celsius mark. While this wasn&rsquo;t uncomfortable, I believe the GT 7 Pro can stay cooler with better software optimisations in the final production version.&nbsp;
These improvements could enhance the overall user experience and maintain optimal performance.
<h3>Realme GT 7 Pro BGMI Test</h3>
The Snapdragon 8 Elite shows promise as a solid upgrade, but the real test is in gaming. I put it to the test with BGMI, everyone's favourite.
In a 30-minute session at 90fps and &lsquo;Smooth&rsquo; graphics settings, the phone performed flawlessly&mdash;no frame drops or overheating.&nbsp;
Additionally, BGMI also runs smoothly at 40fps with &lsquo;Ultra HDR&rsquo; graphics.&nbsp;
Overall, for gaming, the Realme GT 7 Pro delivers.&nbsp;
Outside of gaming and benchmarks, the phone also feels exceptionally smooth in everyday use.&nbsp;

The Poco M7 features a mix of matte and glossy finishes, blending subtlety with style. The Ocean Blue variant reviewed here has a premium feel, resembling the more expensive Realme Narzo 70 Pro from 2024.The glossy section of the back panel attracts fingerprints easily, accumulating smudges over time.&nbsp;
A big shift from its predecessor is the circular camera module, replacing the older rectangular design. There are four cutouts, one for the LED flash. The sides have a matte-finish plastic frame, with the power button and volume buttons on the right. The SIM tray on the left supports dual SIMs and microSD expansion. Up top, there&rsquo;s a headphone jack, while the bottom houses a loudspeaker, microphone, and USB-C port.
Up front, there&rsquo;s a 6.88-inch display with noticeable bezels and a teardrop notch for the selfie camera. There&rsquo;s no Gorilla Glass protection, and Poco hasn&rsquo;t confirmed if there&rsquo;s any alternative.
At 205g and 8.22mm thick, the Poco M7 is on the larger side but stays manageable for those with bigger hands. With a case, it might feel a bit chunkier. The build feels solid, with no flex or creaks, and there&rsquo;s also an IP52 rating for basic dust and water resistance.

Another solid upgrade is the in-display fingerprint sensor, replacing the side-mounted one from the Poco M6, and it&rsquo;s been working reliably in testing.

The Poco M7 packs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 under the hood, with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage (plus microSD expansion if you need extra space). We tested the 8GB/128GB variant.
For a budget phone, performance is actually decent but the display routinely dips to 60Hz in apps, making the phone feel laggier than it really is. When it sticks to 90Hz or 120Hz, it&rsquo;s smooth, but that doesn&rsquo;t happen as often as it should.&nbsp;
The low-power chip means the phone barely gets warm, even while gaming. The skin temperature stays cool, and while gaming performance isn&rsquo;t its strong suit, it holds up well for everyday scrolling and streaming.
In terms of software, the Poco M7 runs Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box, bringing plenty of customization. The built-in theme store lets you switch up wallpapers, fonts, and themes to match your vibe.
There&rsquo;s a fair bit of bloatware, which isn&rsquo;t great, and you will have to spend some time uninstalling the apps you don't want. Poco&rsquo;s offering 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches, which is reasonable for the price.

Indoors and low-light shots have considerable noise, which you can counter only to an extent with night mode at the expense of stability.
As for selfies, they also lack clarity and skin tones might not look accurate. Overall, the POCO M7 photography capabilities are decent, nothing extraordinary, as expected from an entry-level smartphone. The phone can shoot videos at 1080p 30fps, but there&rsquo;s no stabilization, so handheld footage can get pretty shaky. Keeping the phone steady is a must for smoother shots

The Poco M7 comes packed with a 5160mAh battery, delivering solid all-day endurance, even with a mix of scrolling, streaming, gaming, and snapping photos. In testing, it easily lasted until the evening with battery left to spare.
