Surgeons still use this Nazi book of anatomy, but why?

A book used by some doctors around the world is also a piece of literature they would not display on their bookshelves. Called Pernkopf's Atlas of Anatomy, the book set has perhaps the best example of anatomical drawings in the world, with graphic details of skin, muscles, bones, tendons, nerves and organs displayed in the form of complex hand-drawn illustrations. Incidentally, the book's findings are a result of studies done by a Nazi doctor names Eduard Pernkopf, on bodies of hundreds of people killed by the Nazis. While the book is not in publication anymore, second-hand versions of the atlas are available online at exorbitant rates, and are found in libraries for historical purposes, but many doctors still debate the ethical use of the book today.
