Twitter shows J&K in China during broadcast, then fixes location tag

Twitter was at the centre of a storm on Sunday after it showed J&K as a part of China during a live broadcast. The social media giant has now reportedly fixed the 'technical issue' with its location tag after netizens called it out.

The lapse was spotted by author and national security analyst, Nitin Gokhale, as he went live from the Hall of Fame in Leh, a memorial for soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the country.

The lapse from Twitter comes as users of Xiaomi phones in India complained that the device didn’t display weather reports for places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Several users have also called for a possible ban of the micro-blogging platform in the country.
