US Covid-19 tally approaches 6-million mark

As the Covid-19 tally nears the 6 million mark in the US, the Midwest States of the nation have registered an increase in the number of positive cases, according to a Reuters tally.

Though nationally the positive cases and fatalities are declining but emerging hotspots have been noted in the Midwest.

While Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota have all reported a surge in the single-day count, Montana and Idaho are witnessing an increase in the number of hospitalized Covid patients.

Most of the Midwest states reported the resurgence after schools and universities reopened for in-person classes.

The US which is the worst-affected nation by the pandemic has 59,97,163 confirmed cases along with 1,83,068 deaths.
