CES 2023: Nvidia to launch GeForce Now cloud gaming service for in-car use

Nvidia has announced that its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, will be available in select Hyundai, BYD, and Polestar electric vehicles. This marks the first time that the service, which features over 1,000 titles from various game stores and free-to-play games, will be available beyond phones, TVs, and computers.

The move towards offering in-car gaming comes as automakers seek to find new sources of revenue through software-defined vehicles. However, no details have been provided on the timeline or models of vehicles that will offer the service.

Nvidia claims that passengers can keep boredom at bay thanks to cloud technology and mobile internet. Drivers and front-seat passengers may play games when parked or charging, while those in the backseat of vehicles with rear entertainment can play at any time while driving.

According to Nvidia, when self-driving technology becomes more common, the interior will play a far greater role in distinguishing brand identities. It says that when purchasing a vehicle, consumers in future will place a greater emphasis on amenities like digital assistants, stunning graphic displays, and streaming multimedia.
