Realme is back in the flagship game with the new GT 7 Pro. This is the most premium Realme smartphone to launch in India, starting at ₹59,999 for the base 12GB+256GB variant.
It is also the first Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone in India. So, is this also the best premium Android smartphone? Let's find out!
Realme GT 7 Pro Performance
Since this is the first smartphone with the &nbsp;Snapdragon 8 Elite, let&rsquo;s talk about its raw performance.&nbsp;
I began with AnTuTu, where I was hoping to see that 3 million mark.
But, the GT 7 Pro scored 2.62 million, which is still approximately 24% better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's peak of 2.1 million.
It surprisingly scored a bit less with the performance-focused GT mode enabled. Also, enabling GT mode did reduce the battery life, without adding much to the performance, so I suggest keeping it disabled.&nbsp;
For GPU performance, the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme benchmark resulted in a peak score of 5893, which is lesser than the Dimensity 9400&rsquo;s best score. However, the stability rating of the GT 7 Pro was quite impressive.&nbsp;
In a 30-minute BGMI gaming session at 90fps with &lsquo;Smooth&rsquo; graphics, the phone showed no frame drops or overheating. It also ran smoothly at 40fps with &lsquo;Ultra HDR&rsquo; graphics.&nbsp;
You also get frame rate interpolation which artificially boosts the game frame rate to up to 120fps and it works quite well.
Interestingly, while this phone did get quite hot during benchmark tests, it maintained respectable temperatures while gaming. So, thermal throttling shouldn't be much of an issue here.
Realme GT 7 Pro Design
Now, moving on to the design, the GT 7 Pro sports a fresh, bold look that I really like. The squarish camera island with its extended border, and subtle copper accent gives a distinctive look to this smartphone.
Then, this Galaxy Grey colourway of our review unit has a brushed metal texture and a matt finish which looks great. But, if you love bold and vibrant colours, the available Mars Orange option could be perfect for you.&nbsp;
The premium feel of the metal frame and glass back gives this smartphone a top-notch in-hand experience.&nbsp;
Realme GT 7 Pro Battery &amp; Charging
This smartphone has a nice weighty feel to it, partly due to its high quality construction, and partly due to its big 5800mAh battery.&nbsp;
This is a silicon carbide battery with higher energy density than lithium ones, allowing for either a smaller battery with the same capacity or a larger capacity in the same size.
Therefore, the Realme GT 7 Pro packs stays decently slim at 8.55mm despite packing a big battery.
However, the Chinese unit of this smartphone has a 6,500mAh battery. Realme claims that they downsized the battery on the India unit due to regulatory issues, but still a difference of 700mAh is quite significant.&nbsp;
Still, 5800mAh is quite big by any standard so, a 9-hour+ screen time with mixed use can easily be achieved on this smartphone.&nbsp;
Plus, you still get that quick 120W fast charger in the box. It can fully charge this battery from 0-100 in around half an hour.
However, wireless charging is notably absent here, and it's an essential flagship feature that Realme shouldn't have skipped.
Realme GT 7 Pro Display &amp; Utility
Good looks and big battery aside, the GT 7 Pro also gets the added durability with an IP69 rating and Gorilla Glass 7i protection for its display.
Then, it gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner which worked quite well in my experience.
Talking of the display, it's a Samsung-made 6.78-inch LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 120% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and delivers an astonishing peak brightness of 6500 nits when viewing HDR content.
But, in practical use, its 2000 nits brightness in high brightness mode still ensures it remains brilliantly visible, even in direct sunlight.
In case you haven&rsquo;t already noticed, this display is not fully flat: it is micro curved on all 4 edges. This is a trend that we&rsquo;re gonna see on a lot of Chinese flagship phones this year, and frankly, I&rsquo;m not a big fan of it.&nbsp;
You see, traditional curved displays, despite being less practical, offer a premium look. On the other hand, fully flat displays prioritise practicality. These micro curves seem like an unnecessary addition which doesn't add much aesthetic or practical value to a smartphone.&nbsp;
Realme GT 7 Pro Software &amp; AI
Coming to software, you get Realme UI 6 here, which, like always, is quite feature rich and works really well on this phone thanks to 16GB of RAM on my test unit. Bloatware has thankfully been kept in check on this phone, but the Glance lock screen still remains.&nbsp;
Realme has enhanced this phone&rsquo;s software with a powerful AI suite, particularly for photo editing. There's also a new Samsung-like draw-to-image AI generator, but it's limited to 10 generations per day.
However, most of these AI features will not work without an internet connection.&nbsp;
I mean, what's the point of boasting about the latest and greatest chipset with powerful neural processors if everything is being processed online?
Anyway, the GT 7 Pro will get 3 OS updates and 4 security updates. Qulacomm is officially supporting the Snapdragon 8 Elite for 8 years, so Realme really needs to work on its update policy in this competitive market.
Realme GT 7 Pro Cameras
Finally, lets talk about those cameras. The GT 7 Pro packs 3 lenses at the back: a 50MP main, a 50MP 3x telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide.&nbsp;

I really like how images from all sensors remain colour matched with true to life colours. I also found the photos taken by the main camera to be quite impressive with a good amount of detail and dynamic range. Nightime photos are fine but not quite flagship grade because of muted shadows.&nbsp;
Videos from the main sensor are not very impressive since the 4K 60fps footage is not stable enough, while 4K 30fps clips have a lot of noise. You can shoot 8K 24fps footage from this camera too, but I won&rsquo;t recommend it.&nbsp;
The 50MP telephoto camera takes great portraits with nice bokeh drop off and accurate edge detection. But portraits come great only if there is ample light.&nbsp;
This sensor does not work in low light, which is typically a mid-range phone behaviour, and it should be fixed via an update. It also occasionally struggles with focusing on the subject. &nbsp;&nbsp;
The ultrawide is pretty good by 8MP sensor standards, as long as you give it enough light.
The 16MP front camera does a fine job by producing accurate skin tones and good dynamic range.&nbsp;

And there you have it, the Realme GT 7 Pro. It strikes a fine balance between performance, display quality, battery life, and design, making it an excellent choice for those who want a powerful phone without breaking the bank.&nbsp;
But, if you&rsquo;re specifically looking for a camera phone, you may need to look elsewhere as its cameras, while solid, don't quite reach flagship levels.

I&rsquo;ve been using the new Oppo Find X8 Pro for about a week now, and let me tell you, this thing is a genuine spec monster.&nbsp;
The list of hardware it packs is long enough to send shivers down the spine of any competition.&nbsp;
But there are three things that really stood out to me&mdash;cameras, performance, and battery.&nbsp;
Look, the race to build the ultimate smartphone camera is fiercer than ever, but honestly, the Find X8 Pro feels like it&rsquo;s already claimed the crown.&nbsp;
This phone packs four 50MP cameras on the back. And if that&rsquo;s not crazy enough, two of them are telephoto lenses offering 3x and 6x optical zoom.&nbsp;
The main camera is a 1/1.4" Sony LYT 808 sensor and the ultrawide camera boasts a 120-degree field of view.&nbsp;
This ultrawide lens is the only one without OIS, but it makes up for it with autofocus, making it versatile for both landscape and macro photography.&nbsp;
This time, they&rsquo;ve introduced the new Hasselblad Master Camera System, which they claim takes photography to an entirely new level&mdash;and honestly, I agree.&nbsp;

The results are fantastic, with excellent dynamic range, balanced exposure, and accurate colours. That large sensor on the main camera also shines in low-light conditions, capturing beautiful shots often without even needing night mode.
But it's the telephoto shots that are truly noteworthy, delivering exceptional detail at 3x and 6x zoom . But Oppo is also offering something called AI Telescope Zoom that kicks in at 10x zoom and beyond.
It leverages the full 50MP telephoto camera to restore lost detail using AI. At 60x, when the data is limited, it uses advanced AI models to enhance the image. Just look at the details on the pigeon&rsquo;s wings &ndash; that&rsquo;s pretty insane!
Another advantage of having powerful telephoto lenses like these is that you get amazing portraits.
The phone automatically uses the 3x lens for portraits, but you can also switch to the 6x lens or even the main camera. By the way, all four lenses can shoot 4K video at 60fps in Dolby Vision, offering better dynamic range across the board.
There&rsquo;s also a 32MP camera up front, and it does a decent job with selfies&mdash;nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done.
The Find X8 Pro introduces a new hardware button, similar to the iPhone 16's Camera Control Button. It&rsquo;s pressure-sensitive and lets you take photos and zoom in and out of shots. I actually found it more intuitive than the one on the iPhone 16, but I never really felt the need to use it much.
On the whole, the Find X8 Pro is a fantastic package, and I have to say, it&rsquo;s easily one of the best camera phones available right now.
Anyway, enough about cameras, because the other big highlight is the new Dimensity 9400 flagship chipset.&nbsp;
The Find X8 Pro is the first phone in India to feature this processor, so of course, I had to run some benchmarks.&nbsp;
And to make things more interesting, I compared it with the extremely powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite on the Realme GT 7 Pro, which also happens to be the first phone in India to run on that processor.
In AnTuTu, the Find X8 Pro scored an impressive 2.31 million, but it was still a bit lower than the Realme GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s 2.62 million.
However, the Find X8 Pro offers better GPU performance, with a higher peak score of 6,465 in the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme benchmark. The GT 7 Pro, though, had a better stability rating of 71.7%.
Now, while this phone did get a bit hot during benchmark tests, it maintained respectable temperatures while gaming, and I managed to get stable frame rates without any jitter.
With 16GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage on tap, day-to-day performance was consistently smooth, whether I was multitasking or running demanding apps.
The other big upgrade for the Find X8 Pro is its larger battery capacity, made possible by Oppo's shift to silicon-carbon batteries from traditional lithium ones.&nbsp;
This new battery technology allows for significantly larger capacity without increasing the physical size, giving the phone better endurance while maintaining a sleek form factor.
And that's why, the Find X8 Pro packs a massive 5,910mAh battery while staying decently slim at just 8.24mm. It easily lasted more than a day on a single charge, so battery anxiety wasn&rsquo;t an issue.&nbsp;
That said, I wasn&rsquo;t all that impressed with the charging speeds.
It supports 80W fast charging with a charger included in the box, and you also get 50W wireless charging, but in my testing, it took 30 minutes to charge from 1 to 50 percent. While that&rsquo;s fine, I think Oppo should have included at least a 100W charger to top up the bigger battery a bit faster.
Elsewhere, the Find X8 Pro is every bit a flagship device.&nbsp;
It features a stunning 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an incredible 4,500 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest displays on the market.
The phone also boasts an IP69 rating for top-tier dust and water resistance, excellent stereo speakers that deliver immersive audio, and the latest ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, which brings refreshed visuals and some genuinely useful AI features.
But like I said at the very start&mdash;cameras, performance, and battery&mdash;these are the three pillars that make the Oppo Find X8 Pro a top contender in its price range.&nbsp;

Not only is it the first phone with ColorOS 15, but it&rsquo;s also the first flagship in India to feature the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.
It packs a hefty 5,910mAh battery, so it weighs in at well over 200 grams, but the weight is well-distributed, and it stays slim at just 8.24mm.
Design-wise, it keeps the round camera module from the X7 series, but OPPO finally nailed the look by centering the Hasselblad logo, ditching the asymmetry of the X7 Ultra that drove me crazy.
Unfortunately, OPPO isn&rsquo;t launching a vegan leather version this time around, but we&rsquo;ve got the black color in a soft matte finish. It may not be as eye-catching as the Find X7 Ultra, but it&rsquo;s still very premium and is even rated for IP69 dust and water resistance.
On the back, you've got four camera lenses, including dual-periscope lenses for serious photography. Up front, there&rsquo;s a stunning 6.78-inch 120 Hz display with slightly curved edges and ultra-thin bezels.
And oh, on the side, there&rsquo;s a new Quick Button for instant camera control&mdash;just like on the latest iPhone 16 series and I do love me an alert slider.

How much does it score on AnTuTu? Does it stay cool under pressure? How does it handle gaming and is it significantly better than the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3?&nbsp;
To start, let&rsquo;s break down what makes this chipset special. It&rsquo;s called the Snapdragon 8 Elite because it now incorporates eight Orion cores, with two clocked at a blazing 4.32 GHz and six at 3.53 GHz.&nbsp;
This upgrade pushes the clock speeds well beyond what we saw in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and even Apple's latest A18 Pro chip in their new iPhones.
Plus, Realme has upgraded the GPU and introduced a new AI engine with the Snapdragon 8 Elite on the GT 7 Pro.&nbsp;
On paper, this makes it one of the most powerful setups out there. But let&rsquo;s see how it actually performs in benchmarks.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 7 Pro AnTutu Score</h3>
We started with the AnTuTu test, where I was hoping it would hit that 3 million mark as per reports.&nbsp;
It came close, scoring 2.62 million with the GT mode disabled, and surprisingly, a lower 2.58 million with the GT mode enabled.&nbsp;
This still marks a 20-24% leap over last year&rsquo;s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which hit a peak of around 2.1 million on the iQOO 12.
<h3>Realme GT 7 Pro Geekbench Score</h3>
On the Geekbench CPU test, the Snapdragon 8 Elite flexes its power, achieving 2932 points in single-core and a whopping 9043 in multi-core tests. For GPU performance, it stands strong with an impressive 16807 on the OpenCL score.
To check its sustained performance, I ran a CPU throttling test on the Realme GT 7 Pro.&nbsp;
Over a 15-minute, 20-thread test, the phone throttled down to about 74%.&nbsp;

With the CPU benchmarks done, let&rsquo;s dive into the GPU performance and see how the new upgrades stack up.&nbsp;
In Geekbench, the scores show clear improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in both OpenCL and Vulkan tests, which is promising.
<h3>Realme GT 7 Pro 3DMark Score</h3>
But for a real GPU workout, I turned to 3DMark's Wildlife Extreme benchmark, which runs for 20 minutes to test sustained graphics power.&nbsp;
Here, the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored an impressive 5893&mdash;a noticeable upgrade over the 8 Gen 3. The GT 7 Pro achieved a stability rating of 71.7% in this test.
During these tests, temperatures did spike, reaching the 45-degree Celsius mark. While this wasn&rsquo;t uncomfortable, I believe the GT 7 Pro can stay cooler with better software optimisations in the final production version.&nbsp;
These improvements could enhance the overall user experience and maintain optimal performance.
<h3>Realme GT 7 Pro BGMI Test</h3>
The Snapdragon 8 Elite shows promise as a solid upgrade, but the real test is in gaming. I put it to the test with BGMI, everyone's favourite.
In a 30-minute session at 90fps and &lsquo;Smooth&rsquo; graphics settings, the phone performed flawlessly&mdash;no frame drops or overheating.&nbsp;
Additionally, BGMI also runs smoothly at 40fps with &lsquo;Ultra HDR&rsquo; graphics.&nbsp;
Overall, for gaming, the Realme GT 7 Pro delivers.&nbsp;
Outside of gaming and benchmarks, the phone also feels exceptionally smooth in everyday use.&nbsp;

The Australian Government said on Thursday (December 12, 2024) that it will tax large digital platforms and search engines unless they agree to share revenue with Australian news media organizations.
The tax would apply from Jan. 1 to tech companies that earn more than 250 million Australian dollars ($160 million) a year in revenue from Australia, Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones and Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said. They include Meta, Google, Alphabet and ByteDance.
The tax would be offset through money paid to Australian media organisations. The size of the tax is not clear.
"The real objective...is not to raise revenue &mdash; we hope not to raise any revenue. The real objective is to incentivise agreement-making between platforms and news media businesses in Australia,&rdquo; Mr Jones told reporters.
The move comes after Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, announced that it would not renew three-year deals to pay Australian news publishers for their content.
A previous Government introduced 2021 laws called the New Media Bargaining Code (NMBC) that forced tech giants to strike revenue-sharing deals with Australian media companies or face fines of 10% of their Australian revenue.
Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday (December 12).

The Nothing Phone 2a sticks to its signature semi-transparent back and those awesome Glyph lights. They look amazing, but the plastic back does pick up dust and scratches quite easily. &nbsp;
As for the camera design, the Redmi plays it safe with a squircle module that&rsquo;s clean and simple, while the Nothing Phone 2a goes all in with a pill-shaped horizontal module, which is definitely a quirkier choice. Both phones have symmetrical bezels, but the Redmi offers slimmer bezels and a curved display, giving it a more premium look compared to the flat screen of the Phone 2a.&nbsp;
Now, when it comes to comfort, both phones are pretty lightweight at 190 grams, but the Redmi offers more rounded edges, which make it way more comfortable to hold for long periods.

Both phones feature 120Hz dynamic refresh rates, and they adjust seamlessly depending on usage, plus both have reliable in-display fingerprint scanners, though the positioning feels a little low for comfort. The Nothing Phone 2a also stands out in terms of haptics&mdash;its subtle, satisfying feedback is just better than what you get on the Redmi. &nbsp;

In Antutu, the Phone 2a pulled ahead with 7.36 lakh, while the Note 14 Pro scored 6.53 lakh. In our CPU throttling tests, the Phone 2a held up better, dropping to 92% of its max performance, while the Redmi dropped to 88%. Both phones did well overall though, so throttling isn&rsquo;t a major issue.&nbsp;
For gaming, the Nothing Phone 2a supports 90FPS gameplay in BGMI, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro can be played on extreme graphics. With performance mode enabled on the Redmi, I still saw a solid 60FPS in BGMI, so it&rsquo;s holding its own in terms of gaming performance.
In daily use, both phones handle multitasking with ease. I also had 25-30 apps open at once, and they handled the shuffle without any problems. Both devices offer up to 12GB RAM variants, but storage is limited to UFS 2.2. This is mostly standard for the price range, but it&rsquo;s worth noting that brands like Poco are stepping up with faster UFS 4.0 storage on models like the Poco X6 Pro.&nbsp;

In terms of image quality, the Redmi Note 14 Pro delivers vibrant, contrast-heavy shots with a warm tone, while the Nothing Phone 2a leans towards more natural colors. For dynamic range, the Nothing Phone 2a falls short, often struggling with highlights and shadows.&nbsp;
For zoom, the Redmi Note 14 Pro does better at 2x, preserving more detail when zoomed in. Portrait shots also come out sharper on the Redmi, with better edge detection and more consistent background blur.&nbsp;
When it comes to ultra-wide shots, the Nothing Phone 2a sometimes adds a blue tint to the sky, and shadows often get crushed. The Redmi does a better job at retaining details.&nbsp;
Neither phone includes a telephoto lens, so long-range shots aren&rsquo;t their strong suit. However, in low light, the Nothing Phone 2a pulls ahead with better detail retention, while the Redmi struggles to keep up.&nbsp;
In video, both phones can shoot 4K at 30fps but neither really stands out in a big way, but the Nothing Phone 2a does have the edge when it comes to color reproduction.&nbsp;
For selfies, the Redmi has a 20MP camera, while Nothing comes with a 32MP sensor. The Nothing phone definitely pulls ahead here, capturing more detail and offering a better portrait mode for more polished shots. &nbsp;
Overall, both phones have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to cameras, but I prefer the Redmi Note 14 Pro.&nbsp;

It&rsquo;s that time of year again: a brand-new flagship chipset, and two hot new phones vying for your attention.
On one side, we have the iQOO 13, and on the other, the Realme GT 7 Pro. If you want to experience the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, these two are your best bets.&nbsp;
More importantly, both these phones are priced under ₹60,000, in fact, the iQOO can be purchased for as low as ₹51,999 with launch offers.
So, should you buy one of these, or maybe wait for something else? Let&rsquo;s find out!
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Design
Both the iQOO 13 and Realme GT 7 Pro have a nice glass sandwich design with an aluminium frame.
However, I find the Realme GT 7 Pro to have a more premium feel. It feels weightier in hand and features a matte frame that resists fingerprints better than the glossy finish on the iQOO 13.
The back of the iQOO 13 is undeniably cool with its matte ivory Legend colour and subtle BMW M-inspired strips. You&rsquo;d also notice this LED RGB ring around the camera island, which is fully customisable and adds some character to this phone.&nbsp;
Although this LED ring surrounds a downgraded camera system, which I&rsquo;ll talk about in a while.
Anyway, I still prefer the Realme&rsquo;s brushed metal texture on this grey colour: it just looks more upscale. Although the Realme&rsquo;s matte back does show fingerprints, its overall design edges out the iQOO for me.
Both smartphones are also decently robust with an IP69 rating and credible glass protections for their displays.
Both smartphones also feature quick ultrasonic fingerprint readers. I&rsquo;m glad that ultrasonic scanners are finally going mainstream 5 long years after their original debut in the Galaxy S10 series.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Performance, Benchmarks &amp; Software
Okay, since performance without breaking the bank is the main mantra of these two phones, let&rsquo;s have a look at their benchmark scores.&nbsp;

The iQOO 13 takes the lead with higher scores in AnTuTu and Geekbench. However, it scored surprisingly low in the Wildlife Extreme stress test, which is likely due to optimisation issues.&nbsp;
Although in practical terms, performance gains since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are hard to notice. At this point, a new flagship chip is mostly about boasting your high score on Antutu, because even a two year old 8 Gen 2 can play demanding games with ease. &nbsp;
And, when it comes to all the AI features, they still rely on an internet connection. So, it leaves me wondering, what are these powerful NPUs actually doing?
Anyway, in everyday use, both phones perform superbly. They handle heavy games without breaking a sweat, even during extended sessions. Both manage heat pretty well, although the iQOO 13 remained slightly cooler after a 30 minute BGMI session.&nbsp;
Both models also offer frame rate interpolation. The Realme can boost frame rates up to 120fps, while the iQOO has a dedicated Q2 chip that enhances gaming up to 144fps and optimises power efficiency. Do note that only a few games support frame rate interpolation.
Despite having the same chipset and 16GB of RAM, the iQOO 13 feels faster and smoother thanks to better software optimisation. Apps open swiftly on it and multitasking is seamless as well.&nbsp;
Realme, on the other hand, has cleaner software with fewer preinstalled apps. It doesn&rsquo;t bombard you with spammy notifications like the iQOO&rsquo;s V-App Store.&nbsp;
Both phones include the Glance lock screen, which feels out of place on premium devices.
You can disable all of these things on both phones, but cleaning up the iQOO will definitely require more time.
The iQOO 13 fights back with a longer software update cycle of 4+5 years compared to Realme&rsquo;s 3+4 years.&nbsp;
As mentioned before, AI features are present on both phones as long as you are connected to the internet. Realme&rsquo;s AI suite is more organised and user-friendly. It offers more features, though it still doesn&rsquo;t match the comprehensiveness of Samsung&rsquo;s AI tools.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Cameras
After performance, now let's tackle the second most important question about these phones: are their cameras any good?
In my recent full review of the GT 7 Pro, I found its cameras to be pretty good, but not quite flagship grade.&nbsp;
So, given how good the iQOO 12&rsquo;s cameras were, can we take the liberty of assuming that iQOO 13 has a great camera system too. Sadly, not quite.
The camera sensors have changed on the iQOO 13, and they are a bit of a downgrade, especially that telephoto lens which now has an inferior sensor and no periscope system.

The main camera is pretty equally matched on both phones in terms of detail, but realme can be a little inconsistent. For example, in this challenging shot, Realme struggled a bit with dynamic range, and in this second shot, it added a greenish tone to the ambience which wasn't there.
Night mode definitely goes into iQOO&rsquo;s favour because of its better detail and focus, but its tendency to make the night sky blue can be annoying for some.
Both phones take detailed videos but suffer from EIS jitter. iQOO however, performs much better in tricky scenarios.
Telephoto cameras are where things get interesting, because the downgrade on the iQOO 13 versus iQOO 12 is pretty hard to ignore. In fact, in portrait shots it sometimes struggled to focus on the person, which is quite surprising for a Vivo phone.&nbsp;
The iQOO 13 definitely processes light flares better than the GT 7 Pro, but none of the phones were particularly consistent with skin tones.&nbsp;
Also, since there&rsquo;s no periscope on the iQOO 13, its long range zoom is limited to just 30x.&nbsp;
Telephoto footage from both smartphones is not particularly stable, but it is detailed with good dynamic range.
When it comes to ultrawide, the iQOO has a clear advantage with its higher resolution camera. It takes better photos in the day as well as low light. Plus it can also shoot good videos at 4K 60fps, whereas the Realme is capped at 1080p 30fps.&nbsp;
Coming to selfies, the Realme has a 16MP front sensor while the iQOO has a 32MP sensor. I am not particularly fond of any of these cameras, because Realme oversharpened and brightness up every photo, whereas the iQOO does not get the skin tones right.
All things considered, the iQOO 13 still has the better camera system of these two phones. But sadly, the punch above its price magic of the iQOO 12 is just gone. So if a camera phone in this price range is what you want, try grabbing an iQOO 12 while you still can.&nbsp;

Display is one criteria where these two smartphones are pretty different to be honest.&nbsp;
At a glance, both displays are high-end: Realme shines with peak brightness, while iQOO offers a higher refresh rate.&nbsp;
However, the GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s display has peculiar colour reproduction. It just shows bluish tones across all profiles. iQOO&rsquo;s display, on the other hand, stays fairly neutral.
Realme's cooler tones is not an issue in isolation, but its tendency to exaggerate blues becomes obvious when compared to the iQOO.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Battery Life &amp; Charging
Finally, there&rsquo;s battery life and charging. Charging is industry-leading with both phones supporting 120W wired charging and coming with a bundled adapter. But wireless charging is sadly missing on both phones.
Anyway, with or without wireless charging, battery life is pretty amazing on both smartphones. Realme&rsquo;s 5,800mAh and iQOO&rsquo;s 6,000mAh cells will easily give you 9+ hours of screen time with mixed use.
Even with an hour of gaming and about 3-4 hours of watching videos, the screen time hovered around the 7 hour mark on both, which is pretty brilliant.&nbsp;
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Verdict
Ultimately, if you want a high-end gaming phone that plays high end titles without dropping frames or heating up, both of these are fantastic options.&nbsp;
However, there is always just one winner, and in this case, it's the iQOO 13. It offers long software support and slightly better cameras than the Realme, but more importantly, it is cheaper by ₹5,000.&nbsp;
Although, knowing Realme, do keep an eye on the GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s price during the New Year sale season.&nbsp;

This 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED panel is undoubtedly one of the highlights. Colors are vibrant, HDR content pops, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes every interaction buttery smooth. The bezels are razor-thin, and the chin is barely there, giving you an edge-to-edge experience.&nbsp;
Realme claims a peak brightness of 6000 nits, which, let&rsquo;s be real, is more about marketing than practical use. In actual use, it&rsquo;s capped at 1600 nits in High Brightness Mode, which is still plenty bright for outdoor usage.&nbsp;
The optical fingerprint scanner is also fast and reliable, and the stereo speakers are great for bingeing content or casual gaming.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Performance&nbsp;</h3>
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset powering the Realme GT 6 is as fast as it was on day one. From demanding games to multitasking with dozens of apps, the phone consistently delivers a smooth and responsive experience. Playing graphics-intensive games like Call of Duty at 120 fps continues to feel satisfying, with no stutters or frame drops.&nbsp;
However, one long-term observation is its thermal management. While the GT 6 performs well in short bursts, extended gaming sessions often lead to noticeable heat buildup, making the phone somewhat uncomfortable to hold. Over time, this hasn&rsquo;t worsened but hasn&rsquo;t improved either. Realme's updates have helped slightly with optimization, but the heat generation remains an issue. &nbsp;
Interestingly, while it scores over 14 lakh on AnTuTu, it falls slightly behind its more affordable sibling, the GT 6T, which is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Software and AI Features&nbsp;</h3>
On the software front, our review unit is still running Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14. While Realme has announced the early access rollout of Realme UI 6.0, powered by the Android 15 beta in India, we&rsquo;ve yet to receive it on our device despite repeated attempts to check for updates.&nbsp;
As it stands, Realme UI 5.0 delivers a smooth and feature-packed experience, but it&rsquo;s not perfect. Bloatware remains an issue, and the relentless app market notifications can be downright annoying. Thankfully, a significant amount of the pre-installed apps can be uninstalled, though it does take some effort.&nbsp;
On the bright side, features like the AI Eraser in the Photos app are genuinely useful, even if they rely on an internet connection to work.&nbsp;
Realme&rsquo;s commitment to software updates isn't too bad either&mdash;three years of major OS updates and an additional year of security patches. This means if you buy the device today, you&rsquo;re set to receive updates up to Android 17 untill 2027 and security support until 2028.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Camera&nbsp;</h3>
Using the cameras over a longer period has reinforced my initial impressions. The 50MP Sony LYT-808 main sensor pulls its weight in most scenarios. Photos come out sharp and detailed, with natural colors and solid dynamic range. Low light performance is commendable, though extreme contrast can trip it up.&nbsp;
The 50MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom is a welcome addition, but the lack of OIS is noticeable. Indoor portraits often struggle with blur, and edge detection can be hit or miss. Outdoors, though, it shines with accurate skin tones and pleasing bokeh effects.&nbsp;
The 8MP ultrawide is fine for casual shots but doesn&rsquo;t bring anything groundbreaking. On the video front, the GT 6 impresses with 4K 60fps recording from the main and telephoto lenses, offering detailed and stable footage.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Battery and Charging &nbsp;</h3>
The 5,500mAh battery consistently delivers, comfortably lasting a full day with mixed use &nbsp;and consistently delivering over 8 hours of screen-on time&nbsp;
What&rsquo;s spoiled me, though, is the 120W fast charging. Going from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes has been a lifesaver, especially on busy days. The charger&rsquo;s included in the box, which feels like a rare treat these days.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Price and Verdict&nbsp;</h3>
Overall, the Realme GT 6 remains a capable performer. Priced at ₹40,999 on Flipkart at the time of making this video, it offers a solid combination of performance, display quality, and fast charging . For those who prioritize speed, display quality, and fast charging, it&rsquo;s an easy recommendation. &nbsp;
That said, the competition in this price range is fierce. The Poco F6 offers comparable power, and the Realme GT 6T provides much of the same experience for less money. Still, for those who want a reliable all-rounder with flagship touches, the GT 6 holds its ground.&nbsp;
