The Australian Government said on Thursday (December 12, 2024) that it will tax large digital platforms and search engines unless they agree to share revenue with Australian news media organizations.
The tax would apply from Jan. 1 to tech companies that earn more than 250 million Australian dollars ($160 million) a year in revenue from Australia, Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones and Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said. They include Meta, Google, Alphabet and ByteDance.
The tax would be offset through money paid to Australian media organisations. The size of the tax is not clear.
"The real objective...is not to raise revenue &mdash; we hope not to raise any revenue. The real objective is to incentivise agreement-making between platforms and news media businesses in Australia,&rdquo; Mr Jones told reporters.
The move comes after Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, announced that it would not renew three-year deals to pay Australian news publishers for their content.
A previous Government introduced 2021 laws called the New Media Bargaining Code (NMBC) that forced tech giants to strike revenue-sharing deals with Australian media companies or face fines of 10% of their Australian revenue.
Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday (December 12).

The Nothing Phone 2a sticks to its signature semi-transparent back and those awesome Glyph lights. They look amazing, but the plastic back does pick up dust and scratches quite easily. &nbsp;
As for the camera design, the Redmi plays it safe with a squircle module that&rsquo;s clean and simple, while the Nothing Phone 2a goes all in with a pill-shaped horizontal module, which is definitely a quirkier choice. Both phones have symmetrical bezels, but the Redmi offers slimmer bezels and a curved display, giving it a more premium look compared to the flat screen of the Phone 2a.&nbsp;
Now, when it comes to comfort, both phones are pretty lightweight at 190 grams, but the Redmi offers more rounded edges, which make it way more comfortable to hold for long periods.
The Nothing Phone 2a, with its blockier design, doesn&rsquo;t feel uncomfortable, but it&rsquo;s not as smooth in the hand as the Redmi. In terms of durability, the Redmi Note 14 Pro takes the crown with its IP68 water resistance, while the Nothing Phone 2a is rated IP54, which means it&rsquo;s splash-proof but not quite as durable in harsher conditions.&nbsp;

The Phone 2a, though, opts for a flat display that&rsquo;s easier to grip during gaming, offering more convenience than the Redmi&rsquo;s curved edges. &nbsp;&nbsp;
Both phones feature 120Hz dynamic refresh rates, and they adjust seamlessly depending on usage, plus both have reliable in-display fingerprint scanners, though the positioning feels a little low for comfort. The Nothing Phone 2a also stands out in terms of haptics&mdash;its subtle, satisfying feedback is just better than what you get on the Redmi. &nbsp;
As for the audio, while they both feature dual stereo speakers that get loud enough, I find the Nothing Phone 2a delivers a richer sound with better bass, even at full volume. It just offers a more enjoyable listening experience overall.&nbsp;

The Redmi Note 14 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, while the Nothing Phone 2a uses the Dimensity 7200 Pro. Now these chips aren&rsquo;t direct upgrades, so you&rsquo;re not going to get massive performance gains with the Redmi. &nbsp;

In Antutu, the Phone 2a pulled ahead with 7.36 lakh, while the Note 14 Pro scored 6.53 lakh. In our CPU throttling tests, the Phone 2a held up better, dropping to 92% of its max performance, while the Redmi dropped to 88%. Both phones did well overall though, so throttling isn&rsquo;t a major issue.&nbsp;
For gaming, the Nothing Phone 2a supports 90FPS gameplay in BGMI, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro can be played on extreme graphics. With performance mode enabled on the Redmi, I still saw a solid 60FPS in BGMI, so it&rsquo;s holding its own in terms of gaming performance.
In daily use, both phones handle multitasking with ease. I also had 25-30 apps open at once, and they handled the shuffle without any problems. Both devices offer up to 12GB RAM variants, but storage is limited to UFS 2.2. This is mostly standard for the price range, but it&rsquo;s worth noting that brands like Poco are stepping up with faster UFS 4.0 storage on models like the Poco X6 Pro.&nbsp;

In terms of image quality, the Redmi Note 14 Pro delivers vibrant, contrast-heavy shots with a warm tone, while the Nothing Phone 2a leans towards more natural colors. For dynamic range, the Nothing Phone 2a falls short, often struggling with highlights and shadows.&nbsp;
For zoom, the Redmi Note 14 Pro does better at 2x, preserving more detail when zoomed in. Portrait shots also come out sharper on the Redmi, with better edge detection and more consistent background blur.&nbsp;
When it comes to ultra-wide shots, the Nothing Phone 2a sometimes adds a blue tint to the sky, and shadows often get crushed. The Redmi does a better job at retaining details.&nbsp;
Neither phone includes a telephoto lens, so long-range shots aren&rsquo;t their strong suit. However, in low light, the Nothing Phone 2a pulls ahead with better detail retention, while the Redmi struggles to keep up.&nbsp;
In video, both phones can shoot 4K at 30fps but neither really stands out in a big way, but the Nothing Phone 2a does have the edge when it comes to color reproduction.&nbsp;
For selfies, the Redmi has a 20MP camera, while Nothing comes with a 32MP sensor. The Nothing phone definitely pulls ahead here, capturing more detail and offering a better portrait mode for more polished shots. &nbsp;
Overall, both phones have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to cameras, but I prefer the Redmi Note 14 Pro.&nbsp;

The Phone 2a&rsquo;s 5,000 mAh battery still gets you through a full day, with around 30% left on heavy days and 50% on lighter days. It supports 45W charging too, but you&rsquo;ll need to buy the charger separately to take advantage of that speed.&nbsp;

It&rsquo;s that time of year again: a brand-new flagship chipset, and two hot new phones vying for your attention.
On one side, we have the iQOO 13, and on the other, the Realme GT 7 Pro. If you want to experience the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, these two are your best bets.&nbsp;
More importantly, both these phones are priced under ₹60,000, in fact, the iQOO can be purchased for as low as ₹51,999 with launch offers.
So, should you buy one of these, or maybe wait for something else? Let&rsquo;s find out!
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Design
Both the iQOO 13 and Realme GT 7 Pro have a nice glass sandwich design with an aluminium frame.
However, I find the Realme GT 7 Pro to have a more premium feel. It feels weightier in hand and features a matte frame that resists fingerprints better than the glossy finish on the iQOO 13.
The back of the iQOO 13 is undeniably cool with its matte ivory Legend colour and subtle BMW M-inspired strips. You&rsquo;d also notice this LED RGB ring around the camera island, which is fully customisable and adds some character to this phone.&nbsp;
Although this LED ring surrounds a downgraded camera system, which I&rsquo;ll talk about in a while.
Anyway, I still prefer the Realme&rsquo;s brushed metal texture on this grey colour: it just looks more upscale. Although the Realme&rsquo;s matte back does show fingerprints, its overall design edges out the iQOO for me.
Both smartphones are also decently robust with an IP69 rating and credible glass protections for their displays.
Both smartphones also feature quick ultrasonic fingerprint readers. I&rsquo;m glad that ultrasonic scanners are finally going mainstream 5 long years after their original debut in the Galaxy S10 series.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Performance, Benchmarks &amp; Software
Okay, since performance without breaking the bank is the main mantra of these two phones, let&rsquo;s have a look at their benchmark scores.&nbsp;

The iQOO 13 takes the lead with higher scores in AnTuTu and Geekbench. However, it scored surprisingly low in the Wildlife Extreme stress test, which is likely due to optimisation issues.&nbsp;
Although in practical terms, performance gains since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are hard to notice. At this point, a new flagship chip is mostly about boasting your high score on Antutu, because even a two year old 8 Gen 2 can play demanding games with ease. &nbsp;
And, when it comes to all the AI features, they still rely on an internet connection. So, it leaves me wondering, what are these powerful NPUs actually doing?
Anyway, in everyday use, both phones perform superbly. They handle heavy games without breaking a sweat, even during extended sessions. Both manage heat pretty well, although the iQOO 13 remained slightly cooler after a 30 minute BGMI session.&nbsp;
Both models also offer frame rate interpolation. The Realme can boost frame rates up to 120fps, while the iQOO has a dedicated Q2 chip that enhances gaming up to 144fps and optimises power efficiency. Do note that only a few games support frame rate interpolation.
Despite having the same chipset and 16GB of RAM, the iQOO 13 feels faster and smoother thanks to better software optimisation. Apps open swiftly on it and multitasking is seamless as well.&nbsp;
Realme, on the other hand, has cleaner software with fewer preinstalled apps. It doesn&rsquo;t bombard you with spammy notifications like the iQOO&rsquo;s V-App Store.&nbsp;
Both phones include the Glance lock screen, which feels out of place on premium devices.
You can disable all of these things on both phones, but cleaning up the iQOO will definitely require more time.
The iQOO 13 fights back with a longer software update cycle of 4+5 years compared to Realme&rsquo;s 3+4 years.&nbsp;
As mentioned before, AI features are present on both phones as long as you are connected to the internet. Realme&rsquo;s AI suite is more organised and user-friendly. It offers more features, though it still doesn&rsquo;t match the comprehensiveness of Samsung&rsquo;s AI tools.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Cameras
After performance, now let's tackle the second most important question about these phones: are their cameras any good?
In my recent full review of the GT 7 Pro, I found its cameras to be pretty good, but not quite flagship grade.&nbsp;
So, given how good the iQOO 12&rsquo;s cameras were, can we take the liberty of assuming that iQOO 13 has a great camera system too. Sadly, not quite.
The camera sensors have changed on the iQOO 13, and they are a bit of a downgrade, especially that telephoto lens which now has an inferior sensor and no periscope system.

The main camera is pretty equally matched on both phones in terms of detail, but realme can be a little inconsistent. For example, in this challenging shot, Realme struggled a bit with dynamic range, and in this second shot, it added a greenish tone to the ambience which wasn't there.
Night mode definitely goes into iQOO&rsquo;s favour because of its better detail and focus, but its tendency to make the night sky blue can be annoying for some.
Both phones take detailed videos but suffer from EIS jitter. iQOO however, performs much better in tricky scenarios.
Telephoto cameras are where things get interesting, because the downgrade on the iQOO 13 versus iQOO 12 is pretty hard to ignore. In fact, in portrait shots it sometimes struggled to focus on the person, which is quite surprising for a Vivo phone.&nbsp;
The iQOO 13 definitely processes light flares better than the GT 7 Pro, but none of the phones were particularly consistent with skin tones.&nbsp;
Also, since there&rsquo;s no periscope on the iQOO 13, its long range zoom is limited to just 30x.&nbsp;
Telephoto footage from both smartphones is not particularly stable, but it is detailed with good dynamic range.
When it comes to ultrawide, the iQOO has a clear advantage with its higher resolution camera. It takes better photos in the day as well as low light. Plus it can also shoot good videos at 4K 60fps, whereas the Realme is capped at 1080p 30fps.&nbsp;
Coming to selfies, the Realme has a 16MP front sensor while the iQOO has a 32MP sensor. I am not particularly fond of any of these cameras, because Realme oversharpened and brightness up every photo, whereas the iQOO does not get the skin tones right.
All things considered, the iQOO 13 still has the better camera system of these two phones. But sadly, the punch above its price magic of the iQOO 12 is just gone. So if a camera phone in this price range is what you want, try grabbing an iQOO 12 while you still can.&nbsp;
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Display
Display is one criteria where these two smartphones are pretty different to be honest.&nbsp;
At a glance, both displays are high-end: Realme shines with peak brightness, while iQOO offers a higher refresh rate.&nbsp;
However, the GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s display has peculiar colour reproduction. It just shows bluish tones across all profiles. iQOO&rsquo;s display, on the other hand, stays fairly neutral.
Realme's cooler tones is not an issue in isolation, but its tendency to exaggerate blues becomes obvious when compared to the iQOO.
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Battery Life &amp; Charging
Finally, there&rsquo;s battery life and charging. Charging is industry-leading with both phones supporting 120W wired charging and coming with a bundled adapter. But wireless charging is sadly missing on both phones.
Anyway, with or without wireless charging, battery life is pretty amazing on both smartphones. Realme&rsquo;s 5,800mAh and iQOO&rsquo;s 6,000mAh cells will easily give you 9+ hours of screen time with mixed use.
Even with an hour of gaming and about 3-4 hours of watching videos, the screen time hovered around the 7 hour mark on both, which is pretty brilliant.&nbsp;
iQOO 13 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Verdict
Ultimately, if you want a high-end gaming phone that plays high end titles without dropping frames or heating up, both of these are fantastic options.&nbsp;
However, there is always just one winner, and in this case, it's the iQOO 13. It offers long software support and slightly better cameras than the Realme, but more importantly, it is cheaper by ₹5,000.&nbsp;
Although, knowing Realme, do keep an eye on the GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s price during the New Year sale season.&nbsp;

After nearly six months with the Realme GT 6, it&rsquo;s clear that this phone is a bit of a mixed bag. While there&rsquo;s no denying it&rsquo;s a powerhouse, like any long-term relationship, its quirks begin to stand out over time.&nbsp;
Though the device excels in many areas, it does have its flaws, which we&rsquo;ll break down in this review.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Design&nbsp;</h3>
The GT 6 still feels premium, with its smooth matte silver finish and glossy stripe across the back. That stripe, however, is a total smudge magnet, picking up fingerprints and smears. While the phone does come with a case, the glossy stripe and camera module remain exposed, so it doesn&rsquo;t do much to improve the situation. &nbsp;&nbsp;
At 8.6mm thick, it&rsquo;s not the slimmest phone out there, but the curved edges make it feel comfortable in hand. The camera bump has some heft, and while functional, it lacks any unique flair. Phones like the Realme 13 Pro+ still manage to look sleeker despite being lower in the lineup.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Display and Audio&nbsp;</h3>
This 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED panel is undoubtedly one of the highlights. Colors are vibrant, HDR content pops, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes every interaction buttery smooth. The bezels are razor-thin, and the chin is barely there, giving you an edge-to-edge experience.&nbsp;
Realme claims a peak brightness of 6000 nits, which, let&rsquo;s be real, is more about marketing than practical use. In actual use, it&rsquo;s capped at 1600 nits in High Brightness Mode, which is still plenty bright for outdoor usage.&nbsp;
The optical fingerprint scanner is also fast and reliable, and the stereo speakers are great for bingeing content or casual gaming.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Performance&nbsp;</h3>
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset powering the Realme GT 6 is as fast as it was on day one. From demanding games to multitasking with dozens of apps, the phone consistently delivers a smooth and responsive experience. Playing graphics-intensive games like Call of Duty at 120 fps continues to feel satisfying, with no stutters or frame drops.&nbsp;
However, one long-term observation is its thermal management. While the GT 6 performs well in short bursts, extended gaming sessions often lead to noticeable heat buildup, making the phone somewhat uncomfortable to hold. Over time, this hasn&rsquo;t worsened but hasn&rsquo;t improved either. Realme's updates have helped slightly with optimization, but the heat generation remains an issue. &nbsp;
Interestingly, while it scores over 14 lakh on AnTuTu, it falls slightly behind its more affordable sibling, the GT 6T, which is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Software and AI Features&nbsp;</h3>
On the software front, our review unit is still running Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14. While Realme has announced the early access rollout of Realme UI 6.0, powered by the Android 15 beta in India, we&rsquo;ve yet to receive it on our device despite repeated attempts to check for updates.&nbsp;
As it stands, Realme UI 5.0 delivers a smooth and feature-packed experience, but it&rsquo;s not perfect. Bloatware remains an issue, and the relentless app market notifications can be downright annoying. Thankfully, a significant amount of the pre-installed apps can be uninstalled, though it does take some effort.&nbsp;
On the bright side, features like the AI Eraser in the Photos app are genuinely useful, even if they rely on an internet connection to work.&nbsp;
Realme&rsquo;s commitment to software updates isn't too bad either&mdash;three years of major OS updates and an additional year of security patches. This means if you buy the device today, you&rsquo;re set to receive updates up to Android 17 untill 2027 and security support until 2028.&nbsp;
<h3>Realme GT 6: Camera&nbsp;</h3>
Using the cameras over a longer period has reinforced my initial impressions. The 50MP Sony LYT-808 main sensor pulls its weight in most scenarios. Photos come out sharp and detailed, with natural colors and solid dynamic range. Low light performance is commendable, though extreme contrast can trip it up.&nbsp;
The 50MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom is a welcome addition, but the lack of OIS is noticeable. Indoor portraits often struggle with blur, and edge detection can be hit or miss. Outdoors, though, it shines with accurate skin tones and pleasing bokeh effects.&nbsp;
The 8MP ultrawide is fine for casual shots but doesn&rsquo;t bring anything groundbreaking. On the video front, the GT 6 impresses with 4K 60fps recording from the main and telephoto lenses, offering detailed and stable footage.&nbsp;

The 5,500mAh battery consistently delivers, comfortably lasting a full day with mixed use &nbsp;and consistently delivering over 8 hours of screen-on time&nbsp;
What&rsquo;s spoiled me, though, is the 120W fast charging. Going from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes has been a lifesaver, especially on busy days. The charger&rsquo;s included in the box, which feels like a rare treat these days.&nbsp;

Overall, the Realme GT 6 remains a capable performer. Priced at ₹40,999 on Flipkart at the time of making this video, it offers a solid combination of performance, display quality, and fast charging . For those who prioritize speed, display quality, and fast charging, it&rsquo;s an easy recommendation. &nbsp;

Realme is back in the flagship game with the new GT 7 Pro. This is the most premium Realme smartphone to launch in India, starting at ₹59,999 for the base 12GB+256GB variant.
It is also the first Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone in India. So, is this also the best premium Android smartphone? Let's find out!
Realme GT 7 Pro Performance
Since this is the first smartphone with the &nbsp;Snapdragon 8 Elite, let&rsquo;s talk about its raw performance.&nbsp;
I began with AnTuTu, where I was hoping to see that 3 million mark.
But, the GT 7 Pro scored 2.62 million, which is still approximately 24% better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's peak of 2.1 million.
It surprisingly scored a bit less with the performance-focused GT mode enabled. Also, enabling GT mode did reduce the battery life, without adding much to the performance, so I suggest keeping it disabled.&nbsp;
For GPU performance, the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme benchmark resulted in a peak score of 5893, which is lesser than the Dimensity 9400&rsquo;s best score. However, the stability rating of the GT 7 Pro was quite impressive.&nbsp;
In a 30-minute BGMI gaming session at 90fps with &lsquo;Smooth&rsquo; graphics, the phone showed no frame drops or overheating. It also ran smoothly at 40fps with &lsquo;Ultra HDR&rsquo; graphics.&nbsp;
You also get frame rate interpolation which artificially boosts the game frame rate to up to 120fps and it works quite well.
Interestingly, while this phone did get quite hot during benchmark tests, it maintained respectable temperatures while gaming. So, thermal throttling shouldn't be much of an issue here.
Realme GT 7 Pro Design
Now, moving on to the design, the GT 7 Pro sports a fresh, bold look that I really like. The squarish camera island with its extended border, and subtle copper accent gives a distinctive look to this smartphone.
Then, this Galaxy Grey colourway of our review unit has a brushed metal texture and a matt finish which looks great. But, if you love bold and vibrant colours, the available Mars Orange option could be perfect for you.&nbsp;
The premium feel of the metal frame and glass back gives this smartphone a top-notch in-hand experience.&nbsp;
Realme GT 7 Pro Battery &amp; Charging
This smartphone has a nice weighty feel to it, partly due to its high quality construction, and partly due to its big 5800mAh battery.&nbsp;
This is a silicon carbide battery with higher energy density than lithium ones, allowing for either a smaller battery with the same capacity or a larger capacity in the same size.
Therefore, the Realme GT 7 Pro packs stays decently slim at 8.55mm despite packing a big battery.
However, the Chinese unit of this smartphone has a 6,500mAh battery. Realme claims that they downsized the battery on the India unit due to regulatory issues, but still a difference of 700mAh is quite significant.&nbsp;
Still, 5800mAh is quite big by any standard so, a 9-hour+ screen time with mixed use can easily be achieved on this smartphone.&nbsp;
Plus, you still get that quick 120W fast charger in the box. It can fully charge this battery from 0-100 in around half an hour.
However, wireless charging is notably absent here, and it's an essential flagship feature that Realme shouldn't have skipped.
Realme GT 7 Pro Display &amp; Utility
Good looks and big battery aside, the GT 7 Pro also gets the added durability with an IP69 rating and Gorilla Glass 7i protection for its display.
Then, it gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner which worked quite well in my experience.
Talking of the display, it's a Samsung-made 6.78-inch LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 120% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and delivers an astonishing peak brightness of 6500 nits when viewing HDR content.
But, in practical use, its 2000 nits brightness in high brightness mode still ensures it remains brilliantly visible, even in direct sunlight.
In case you haven&rsquo;t already noticed, this display is not fully flat: it is micro curved on all 4 edges. This is a trend that we&rsquo;re gonna see on a lot of Chinese flagship phones this year, and frankly, I&rsquo;m not a big fan of it.&nbsp;
You see, traditional curved displays, despite being less practical, offer a premium look. On the other hand, fully flat displays prioritise practicality. These micro curves seem like an unnecessary addition which doesn't add much aesthetic or practical value to a smartphone.&nbsp;
Realme GT 7 Pro Software &amp; AI
Coming to software, you get Realme UI 6 here, which, like always, is quite feature rich and works really well on this phone thanks to 16GB of RAM on my test unit. Bloatware has thankfully been kept in check on this phone, but the Glance lock screen still remains.&nbsp;
Realme has enhanced this phone&rsquo;s software with a powerful AI suite, particularly for photo editing. There's also a new Samsung-like draw-to-image AI generator, but it's limited to 10 generations per day.
However, most of these AI features will not work without an internet connection.&nbsp;
I mean, what's the point of boasting about the latest and greatest chipset with powerful neural processors if everything is being processed online?
Anyway, the GT 7 Pro will get 3 OS updates and 4 security updates. Qulacomm is officially supporting the Snapdragon 8 Elite for 8 years, so Realme really needs to work on its update policy in this competitive market.
Realme GT 7 Pro Cameras
Finally, lets talk about those cameras. The GT 7 Pro packs 3 lenses at the back: a 50MP main, a 50MP 3x telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide.&nbsp;

I really like how images from all sensors remain colour matched with true to life colours. I also found the photos taken by the main camera to be quite impressive with a good amount of detail and dynamic range. Nightime photos are fine but not quite flagship grade because of muted shadows.&nbsp;
Videos from the main sensor are not very impressive since the 4K 60fps footage is not stable enough, while 4K 30fps clips have a lot of noise. You can shoot 8K 24fps footage from this camera too, but I won&rsquo;t recommend it.&nbsp;
The 50MP telephoto camera takes great portraits with nice bokeh drop off and accurate edge detection. But portraits come great only if there is ample light.&nbsp;
This sensor does not work in low light, which is typically a mid-range phone behaviour, and it should be fixed via an update. It also occasionally struggles with focusing on the subject. &nbsp;&nbsp;
The ultrawide is pretty good by 8MP sensor standards, as long as you give it enough light.
The 16MP front camera does a fine job by producing accurate skin tones and good dynamic range.&nbsp;

I&rsquo;ve been using the new Oppo Find X8 Pro for about a week now, and let me tell you, this thing is a genuine spec monster.&nbsp;
The list of hardware it packs is long enough to send shivers down the spine of any competition.&nbsp;
But there are three things that really stood out to me&mdash;cameras, performance, and battery.&nbsp;
Look, the race to build the ultimate smartphone camera is fiercer than ever, but honestly, the Find X8 Pro feels like it&rsquo;s already claimed the crown.&nbsp;
This phone packs four 50MP cameras on the back. And if that&rsquo;s not crazy enough, two of them are telephoto lenses offering 3x and 6x optical zoom.&nbsp;
The main camera is a 1/1.4" Sony LYT 808 sensor and the ultrawide camera boasts a 120-degree field of view.&nbsp;
This ultrawide lens is the only one without OIS, but it makes up for it with autofocus, making it versatile for both landscape and macro photography.&nbsp;
This time, they&rsquo;ve introduced the new Hasselblad Master Camera System, which they claim takes photography to an entirely new level&mdash;and honestly, I agree.&nbsp;

The results are fantastic, with excellent dynamic range, balanced exposure, and accurate colours. That large sensor on the main camera also shines in low-light conditions, capturing beautiful shots often without even needing night mode.
But it's the telephoto shots that are truly noteworthy, delivering exceptional detail at 3x and 6x zoom . But Oppo is also offering something called AI Telescope Zoom that kicks in at 10x zoom and beyond.
It leverages the full 50MP telephoto camera to restore lost detail using AI. At 60x, when the data is limited, it uses advanced AI models to enhance the image. Just look at the details on the pigeon&rsquo;s wings &ndash; that&rsquo;s pretty insane!
Another advantage of having powerful telephoto lenses like these is that you get amazing portraits.
The phone automatically uses the 3x lens for portraits, but you can also switch to the 6x lens or even the main camera. By the way, all four lenses can shoot 4K video at 60fps in Dolby Vision, offering better dynamic range across the board.
There&rsquo;s also a 32MP camera up front, and it does a decent job with selfies&mdash;nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done.
The Find X8 Pro introduces a new hardware button, similar to the iPhone 16's Camera Control Button. It&rsquo;s pressure-sensitive and lets you take photos and zoom in and out of shots. I actually found it more intuitive than the one on the iPhone 16, but I never really felt the need to use it much.
On the whole, the Find X8 Pro is a fantastic package, and I have to say, it&rsquo;s easily one of the best camera phones available right now.
Anyway, enough about cameras, because the other big highlight is the new Dimensity 9400 flagship chipset.&nbsp;
The Find X8 Pro is the first phone in India to feature this processor, so of course, I had to run some benchmarks.&nbsp;
And to make things more interesting, I compared it with the extremely powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite on the Realme GT 7 Pro, which also happens to be the first phone in India to run on that processor.
In AnTuTu, the Find X8 Pro scored an impressive 2.31 million, but it was still a bit lower than the Realme GT 7 Pro&rsquo;s 2.62 million.
However, the Find X8 Pro offers better GPU performance, with a higher peak score of 6,465 in the 3DMark Wildlife Extreme benchmark. The GT 7 Pro, though, had a better stability rating of 71.7%.
Now, while this phone did get a bit hot during benchmark tests, it maintained respectable temperatures while gaming, and I managed to get stable frame rates without any jitter.
With 16GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage on tap, day-to-day performance was consistently smooth, whether I was multitasking or running demanding apps.
The other big upgrade for the Find X8 Pro is its larger battery capacity, made possible by Oppo's shift to silicon-carbon batteries from traditional lithium ones.&nbsp;
This new battery technology allows for significantly larger capacity without increasing the physical size, giving the phone better endurance while maintaining a sleek form factor.
And that's why, the Find X8 Pro packs a massive 5,910mAh battery while staying decently slim at just 8.24mm. It easily lasted more than a day on a single charge, so battery anxiety wasn&rsquo;t an issue.&nbsp;
That said, I wasn&rsquo;t all that impressed with the charging speeds.
It supports 80W fast charging with a charger included in the box, and you also get 50W wireless charging, but in my testing, it took 30 minutes to charge from 1 to 50 percent. While that&rsquo;s fine, I think Oppo should have included at least a 100W charger to top up the bigger battery a bit faster.
Elsewhere, the Find X8 Pro is every bit a flagship device.&nbsp;
It features a stunning 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an incredible 4,500 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest displays on the market.
The phone also boasts an IP69 rating for top-tier dust and water resistance, excellent stereo speakers that deliver immersive audio, and the latest ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, which brings refreshed visuals and some genuinely useful AI features.
But like I said at the very start&mdash;cameras, performance, and battery&mdash;these are the three pillars that make the Oppo Find X8 Pro a top contender in its price range.&nbsp;

The bad boy right here in my hand is the new OPPO Find X8 Pro, launching in India on November 21st!
Not only is it the first phone with ColorOS 15, but it&rsquo;s also the first flagship in India to feature the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.
It packs a hefty 5,910mAh battery, so it weighs in at well over 200 grams, but the weight is well-distributed, and it stays slim at just 8.24mm.
Design-wise, it keeps the round camera module from the X7 series, but OPPO finally nailed the look by centering the Hasselblad logo, ditching the asymmetry of the X7 Ultra that drove me crazy.
Unfortunately, OPPO isn&rsquo;t launching a vegan leather version this time around, but we&rsquo;ve got the black color in a soft matte finish. It may not be as eye-catching as the Find X7 Ultra, but it&rsquo;s still very premium and is even rated for IP69 dust and water resistance.
On the back, you've got four camera lenses, including dual-periscope lenses for serious photography. Up front, there&rsquo;s a stunning 6.78-inch 120 Hz display with slightly curved edges and ultra-thin bezels.
And oh, on the side, there&rsquo;s a new Quick Button for instant camera control&mdash;just like on the latest iPhone 16 series and I do love me an alert slider.

There&rsquo;s a new contender in the market, vying for the spotlight in the thin-and-light all-purpose laptop arena: the Asus Zenbook S 16. When it comes to ultraportable laptops, the MacBook Air has long been the benchmark for slimness, portability, and performance. But with the ZenBook S 16, featuring the new Ryzen AI processor, Asus claims it&rsquo;s as thin and light as the MacBook Air, but with a much larger 16-inch OLED screen. &nbsp;
That&rsquo;s a bold claim, but in this review, we&rsquo;ll take a closer look at the Asus Zenbook S 16 to find out if it truly delivers on its promises.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16: Design</h3>
The Zenbook S 16 weighs only 1.5 kilograms. So it is a 16-inch laptop that&rsquo;s as light and slim as a 15-inch MacBook Air. &nbsp;That alone is a massive win in my book, especially considering it&rsquo;s packing a powerful processor and a large battery, but more on that later. &nbsp;
Now Asus has managed to fit a lot into a surprisingly compact frame. The Ceraluminum finish gives it a premium look and feel which this Zumaia Gray colour that my unit came in, really brings out. Think of a smooth, ceramic-like texture with a geometric design that combines the durability of aluminum. It&rsquo;s a design that feels both futuristic and professional. &nbsp;
Moving on, the port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and an SD card slot, which is great for content creators who need to offload photos or videos directly.
The screen, however, is where this laptop really shines. &nbsp;
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Display and Audio</h3>
The Zenbook S 16 sports a 3K OLED HDR NanoEdge display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It&rsquo;s bright, vibrant, and incredibly detailed. Whether you&rsquo;re working on creative tasks or watching media, the colors pop, and the high refresh rate makes everything feel fluid. &nbsp;
The OLED&rsquo;s low blue light certification also helps reduce eye strain, which is a big deal if, like me, you spend a lot of time staring at a screen. Also, I was equally impressed by the speakers.
The ZenBook S 16 is equipped with an impressive six-speaker system powered by Harmon. And when combined with that OLED display, the audio experience is nothing short of immersive. The bass is surprisingly deep for a laptop, and the overall sound is rich and clear. &nbsp;
Whether you're watching movies, listening to music, or attending a video call, the speakers definitely elevate the experience.
With the Dolby Atmos certification, and it&rsquo;s safe to say the viewing experience here is top-notch, setting it apart from many other thin-and-light laptops.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Keyboard and Trackpad</h3>
For someone who types as much as I do, the keyboard experience is crucial. Typing on the Zenbook S 16 is comfortable and the keys on the ZenBook S 16 have a decent amount of travel. &nbsp;
The trackpad is also notably large and smooth though I did find it a little less responsive towards the edges. Now this did bug me a bit since the trackpad is significantly large for my hands to almost intuitively go for the edges while working. &nbsp;
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Performance and Storage</h3>
What really sets the ZenBook S 16 apart is its performance. Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, this laptop packs a serious punch&mdash;at least on paper.
We ran a few benchmarks, including Geekbench and Cinebench, and the results were incredibly impressive. It even proved to be strong competition against Intel&rsquo;s 14th Gen i9 processors.
With these specs, you wouldn&rsquo;t expect any issues with general usage, and true to form, it handled everything with ease. The laptop effortlessly kept up with my habit of running hundreds of tabs and apps simultaneously. Even with apps running in the background, performance remained smooth and fast&mdash;no slowdowns or lag. The fan hardly ever kicked in, and the laptop stayed cool, even after long sessions.
On top of that, it comes with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD&mdash;more than enough for what this laptop is designed to handle. &nbsp;
Gaming is where the Radeon 890 M integrated GPU comes into play. For casual games, the performance is impressive. I also ran shooters like Valorant without any issues, but for more demanding AAA titles, like Assassin&rsquo;s Creed Valhalla, you might notice some drops in frame rate. &nbsp;
Now since this isn&rsquo;t really a gaming laptop, we couldn&rsquo;t run benchmarks for performance like Unigine Superposition. The integrated GPU on this laptop is not powerful enough with only 290MB of VRAM, and around 16GB of shared memory. &nbsp;
Still, for an all-purpose notebook, the Asus Zenbook 16 definitely impresses with its gaming experience.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Battery and Charging</h3>
Moving on to the battery life, the ZenBook S 16 is decent, offering about 9 to 10 hours of use on a full charge. It won&rsquo;t match the MacBook Air&rsquo;s 15 plus hours, but for most people, it&rsquo;s more than enough to get through a day of productivity work.
Also considering the performance you&rsquo;re getting with the Ryzen AI chip, that&rsquo;s a pretty solid battery life.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;AI Features</h3>
Now, lets circle back to that Ryzen AI processor powering this. AMD has positioned this as an AI-powered chip, capable of running on-device AI applications. While this is exciting, the use cases for AI are still quite limited on the Zenbook S 16, that includes Microsoft&rsquo;s Copilot Plus features.
Having said that, Asus has included a couple of AI apps like StoryCube for managing your media, and Amuse for AI-generated images. An interesting addition for better organisation.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Other features</h3>
If you&rsquo;re into creative work, the Zenbook S 16 also comes with an included stylus which I think is a really nice touch. It&rsquo;s fine for note-taking or digital art, though I wouldn&rsquo;t rely on it for intensive drawing work. The camera is also decent &ndash; a 1080p webcam that supports Windows Hello. Video calls don&rsquo;t get too grainy on this one.
<h3>Asus Zenbook S 16:&nbsp;Verdict</h3>
So, after spending time with the ZenBook S 16, I can say it&rsquo;s a compelling option in the premium price segment. At a price of Rs 1,49,990, almost at par with the 15-inch MacBook Air, it&rsquo;s a 16-inch Windows laptop that combines power, portability, and a stunning touchscreen OLED display in a sleek, premium design.
While the performance is at par for general browsing and light gaming, the battery life is not the best in class. That said, for professionals and creatives who value style, functionality, and a touchscreen display that immediately ramps up the cool factor by degrees, the ZenBook S 16 is an outstanding choice. Whether for work, entertainment, or a bit of both, it&rsquo;s a well-rounded all-purpose laptop.

Vivo&rsquo;s X-series has been a staple in the premium smartphone market for some time now, and the Vivo X200 Pro is no exception. With its aggressive pricing, solid specs, and a camera setup that&rsquo;s been turning heads, it&rsquo;s clear that Vivo&rsquo;s top-tier device is here to play.&nbsp;
The X200 Pro is a direct successor to the X100 Pro, which made waves with its impressive telephoto lens and solid overall performance. But does the X200 Pro raise the bar even higher, or is it just a minor evolution?&nbsp;

For those concerned about the size, this isn&rsquo;t the most compact phone out there, but it&rsquo;s surprisingly comfortable to hold, especially when compared to rivals like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which feel bulkier in the hand.
Vivo offers two colours: Titanium Grey and Cosmos Black. Both are sleek and premium, but the Titanium Grey model truly stands out, with a sophisticated brushed metal finish that feels solid yet smooth to the touch.&nbsp;
The back of the device sports a large circular camera housing, with Zeiss branding, making it instantly recognisable as part of Vivo&rsquo;s high-end range. But in terms of ergonomics, there are issues. The massive camera island protrudes quite a bit, which comes in the way of your fingers while holding it. Also, a camera island this large is bound to be smudged all the time.
The front of the X200 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with slim bezels, and the punch-hole selfie camera is barely noticeable. The frame is made of brushed metal, adding a sense of sturdiness, and the back panel is made from glass fibre, which not only looks elegant but is also smudge-resistant.
IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance further elevate the design, ensuring that the X200 Pro is built to withstand the elements.

When it comes to the Vivo X200 Pro, the camera setup is undoubtedly its standout feature. Vivo has made significant upgrades over the X100 Pro, and it&rsquo;s clear that the X200 Pro&rsquo;s camera system is aimed at capturing the attention of photography enthusiasts.&nbsp;
At the heart of this system is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT818 sensor with a fast f/1.57 aperture, PDAF, and OIS. This is paired with a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF and OIS, a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The primary camera&rsquo;s spec sheet may initially seem like a downgrade from the X100 Pro, as it features a smaller 1/1.28-inch sensor compared to the X100 Pro&rsquo;s 1-inch sensor. However, in real-world usage, the results are still excellent. Daylight photos come out crisp and detailed, with dynamic range. But, the colours tend to be saturated, even in &lsquo;Zeiss Natural&rsquo; mode.
The telephoto lens, however, is where this phone truly shines. The 200-megapixel sensor is capable of capturing incredible detail, even at 3.7x magnification, making it an excellent choice for portraits and zoom shots.&nbsp;
The 50MP ultrawide camera, while good, falls just short of the primary and telephoto sensors in terms of detail and colour reproduction. It's serviceable for wide-angle shots, but it doesn&rsquo;t quite deliver the same level of quality.&nbsp;
On the other hand, low-light performance is impressive. The X200 Pro handles low-light scenarios exceptionally well, with minimal noise and accurate colour rendering. Even in near-dark conditions, the detail levels are impressive, and the phone has little trouble maintaining colour accuracy.
Macro photography is another area where the X200 Pro excels. The detail captured in macro shots is unbelievable, showing that Vivo has really worked on fine-tuning the sensor for close-up shots.&nbsp;
The 32-megapixel front camera is decent but doesn&rsquo;t stand out. While it performs well during the day, at night, the skin tones tend to appear unnaturally softened, even with beauty modes turned off. It&rsquo;s not a dealbreaker, but it's a bit of a miss given the otherwise excellent camera system.
Video performance is equally impressive. The X200 Pro supports 4K 60fps HDR recording, along with 4K HDR Cinematic Portrait mode and 120fps slow-motion video. Whether you&rsquo;re recording a concert or a fast-moving subject, the X200 Pro&rsquo;s cameras will handle it with ease, capturing vibrant and stable footage.

This is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, making it more than capable of handling everything from day-to-day tasks to demanding apps and games. It also offers a seamless experience in regular usage and handles high-end games like BGMI with ease.
The phone runs Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15. Vivo has cleaned up the interface, making it more minimalistic and quicker than previous iterations. App launches are faster, and the animations feel smoother.&nbsp;
There are a good number of customisation options, including the ability to tweak the icon styles, shapes, and sizes.&nbsp;
The UI also brings some useful AI features like AI Note Assist, AI Screen Translation, and Circle to Search. These work as expected, though they still require some refinement in terms of performance and polish.

When it comes to battery life, the Vivo X200 Pro certainly doesn&rsquo;t disappoint. It&rsquo;s packed with a 6,000mAh battery that easily lasts through a full day of heavy usage.&nbsp;
The large battery, combined with Vivo&rsquo;s efficient power management, ensures that the X200 Pro can keep up with your daily demands, offering a screen time of around 9-9.5 hours with mixed to heavy use.
Charging is another area where the X200 Pro is pretty good. It supports 90W FlashCharge, which can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in under an hour. However, it is 10W less powerful compared to the X100 Pro&rsquo;s charging speed.
There&rsquo;s also 30W wireless charging for added convenience.&nbsp;
Vivo X200 Pro Review
As a whole, the Vivo X200 Pro is quite hard to beat, especially at a starting price of ₹94,999. It is Vivo&rsquo;s best flagship to date, and it&rsquo;s clear the company is serious about competing in the premium segment.&nbsp;
Unless Samsung does something incredible with its upcoming S25 Ultra, the Vivo X200 Pro is the flagship phone to consider going forward into 2025, especially for its fantastic rear camera system.

The Poco M7 Pro has just launched in India and I&rsquo;ve been using it for about a week now. For a phone priced under Rs 15,000 Rupees, it offers a decent set of specs. What&rsquo;s even more interesting is how closely these specs align with the recently launched Redmi Note 14 5G. That&rsquo;s no surprise considering both Redmi and POCO are sub-brands of Xiaomi.
In this review we dive into what sets the POCO M7 Pro apart, and who should actually consider buying this phone.
<h3>Poco M7 Pro 5G: Design</h3>
Let&rsquo;s start by taking a quick look at the design. The Poco M7 Pro comes in three colors: olive green, grey, and this lovely lavender shade I have here. It&rsquo;s great to see such a nice range of colors in this price segment.
The build is mostly plastic on the back and sides, but I appreciate how resistant it is to fingerprints. Plus, the dual-tone finish with those wavy patterns on the right side adds a unique touch! The design does remind me a lot of the Redmi Note 14 Pro.
One good feature here is the IP64 certification. While it&rsquo;s not the highest water and dust resistance rating, it&rsquo;s definitely a nice bonus for this price range, where such features aren&rsquo;t exactly common.
Another big plus is the front display, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5&mdash;always a welcome addition for durability.
Overall, I found the design pretty appealing, especially for an affordable phone like this. However, once you hold it, you can definitely tell it&rsquo;s a budget device.
That said, it&rsquo;s not bad at all in terms of ergonomics. The phone weighs 190 grams and has a slim profile under 8mm thick, making it comfortable to hold. The rounded corners also help with grip, and you get some handy essentials like a dual SIM slot with microSD card support and an IR blaster.
Poco M7 Pro 5G: Audio
For those who prefer wired audio, you&rsquo;ll be happy to know it still has a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are even stereo speakers. While the sound quality didn&rsquo;t exactly blow me away, at least it&rsquo;s stereo! And if you like your audio loud, there&rsquo;s a &ldquo;volume mode enhancer&rdquo; that cranks it up to 300%. It&rsquo;s not for everyone, but hey, the option is there.

Poco&rsquo;s gone with a Full HD+ gOLED panel, and it&rsquo;s hard not to be impressed by the sheer specs: 2100 nits of peak brightness, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. Outdoors, the brightness is very solid, making the screen easy to read even under direct sunlight.&nbsp; The refresh rate is also genuinely smooth, making everyday tasks like scrolling or swiping through apps feel snappy, and the stable viewing angles ensure no noticeable color shift even when you tilt the phone. Streaming fans will be happy to know that HDR10+ support elevates the experience with deeper contrasts and richer visuals. However, while the blacks are indeed rich, it can&rsquo;t fully replicate the finesse of higher-end AMOLED panels&mdash;it&rsquo;s good for the price, but you&rsquo;ll notice the difference side-by-side with premium devices.
There&rsquo;s an in-display fingerprint scanner here that works super fast, and feels reliable every time.
<h3>Poco M7 Pro 5G: Battery &amp; Charging</h3>
The POCO M7 Pro &nbsp;also does well in the battery department with its 5,110 mAh battery, easily lasting through a day of regular use. I consistently saw the phone lasting for 1-2 days with ease, with a screen-on time of about 6-7 hours. The 45W charger included in the box charges the phone to 50% in around 35 minutes, which is a handy feature for quick top-ups.

Under the hood, the Poco M7 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset. For everyday use&mdash;like casual browsing, social media scrolling, streaming, and messaging&mdash;it gets the job done. It even handles games like BGMI quite well, running smoothly without any noticeable lags.
However, this isn&rsquo;t a performance powerhouse. Multitasking and demanding gaming sessions reveal its limitations, with the CPU Throttle test showing signs of struggle under heavy loads. Then there&rsquo;s the memory and storage standards&mdash;LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. While they&rsquo;re functional, they&rsquo;re also quite outdated by today&rsquo;s standards. USB 2.0 further adds to the &ldquo;old school&rdquo; vibe, and in 2024, this feels like a noticeable miss, especially as faster options become the norm in this price range.
<h3>Poco M7 Pro 5G: Software and Connectivity</h3>
Let&rsquo;s talk software, which has its strengths but doesn&rsquo;t shy away from a few issues. The Poco M7 Pro ships with Xiaomi's HyperOS based on Android 14, and it&rsquo;s smooth and functional overall. Xiaomi is offering two years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which feels fair for this price range, but honestly, it would&rsquo;ve been great to see one more year of OS upgrades.
On the downside, there&rsquo;s the usual suspect: bloatware. It&rsquo;s not overwhelming, but it&rsquo;s still there, and while you can uninstall most of the unnecessary apps, it takes time and effort.&nbsp;
Xiaomi also promises future updates will bring AI features like AI Eraser and AI Sky Replacement, which could be fun to use. For now, though, these are promises we&rsquo;ll have to wait and see fulfilled.
Connectivity options like Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and support for 7 5G bands ensure you&rsquo;re covered on the basics, even if there&rsquo;s nothing groundbreaking here.

Camera wise, The POCO M7 Pro features a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor, and for selfies, you're looking at a 20MP front camera. In general, the camera system does well in favourable lighting conditions&mdash;particularly in daylight. The primary camera does a solid job of capturing fine details, offering decent dynamic range, and delivering fairly accurate colours.
However, there are a couple of issues to consider. The portrait mode struggles with edge detection, so don&rsquo;t expect perfect bokeh effects. As for the &nbsp;selfie camera, &nbsp; it&rsquo;s very much in the average range. In short, the camera system here is not a game-changer, but if you're using it for casual photography in good lighting, it&rsquo;s more than enough.
<h3>Poco M7 Pro 5G: Verdict</h3>
The POCO M7 Pro really gives off Redmi Note 14 5G vibes, but at a more affordable price. The base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage starts at Rs 14,999 excluding discounts, while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant costs Rs 16,999. So, if you&rsquo;re looking to get a good deal, this one makes sense&mdash;you&rsquo;re getting pretty much the same experience but for less money.
That said, the competition in this price range is pretty fierce, with brands like Realme and iQOO offering solid alternatives. The M7 Pro has to compete with some strong contenders, for sure. But if you&rsquo;re someone who wants an affordable 5G phone with a &nbsp;nice design, solid everyday performance and long battery backup, this is definitely a phone worth considering.
