Can CSK overcome Covid-19 blues to paint UAE in yellow?

One team which always starts as the favourites&nbsp;to win the&nbsp;IPL, Chennai Super Kings, have found themselves in unfamiliar territory this season. Their 2020 campaign was hit by&nbsp;coronavirus&nbsp;which saw 13 members of their contingent, including 2 players in Deepak&nbsp;Chahar and&nbsp;Ruturaj Gaikwad,&nbsp;test positive for Covid-19 while in the UAE. This forced the entire squad to remain in extended isolation which pushed back their training schedule. Moreover, even before the start of the tournament, CSK&nbsp;suffered 2 casualties in Suresh&nbsp;Raina&nbsp;and Harbhajan Singh, who pulled out of the cash-rich league due to personal reasons. Where Bhajji's experience may have come in handy on the turning tracks in the UAE, Raina&nbsp;has been the backbone of CSK&nbsp;over the years.&nbsp;
Keeping all that aside, most Indian cricket fans eagerly await for CSK&nbsp;to take the field, as it would give them a chance to see Thala&nbsp;Dhoni&nbsp;back in action. Fresh from his international retirement, watching MSD&nbsp;play again will&nbsp;without doubt be the highlight of this season. Under him, the Super Kings have clinched 3 titles and are the only team in the competition to have a 100% record of making it to the playoffs. In the 10 editions they have played in, CSK&nbsp;has reached the final 8 times.&nbsp;
With Piyush&nbsp;Chawla, Karn&nbsp;Sharma, Ravindra&nbsp;Jadeja,&nbsp;Imran Tahir and&nbsp;Mitchell Santner&nbsp;in their ranks, CSK&nbsp;probably has the best spin bowling department in the tournament. While Deepak&nbsp;Chahar&nbsp;spent his initial days in quarantine, Dwayne Bravo and Josh Hazlewood&nbsp;are busy with CPL and national duty respectively and will join in late. England's Sam Curran who may turn out to be their x-factor this season will also arrive later. Only&nbsp;Shardul Thakur and KM Asif&nbsp;have trained with&nbsp;the squad since the first practice session.
But Daddy's army has time and again showed their ability to bounce and their fans would hope that&nbsp;CSK&nbsp;overcomes their blues and paint the&nbsp;UAE&nbsp;yellow.

Can Mumbai Indians go the distance for the 5th time?

One IPL side which has made it a habit of starting off slow but peaking&nbsp;just at the right moment in the tournament is the Mumbai&nbsp;Indians. A&nbsp;solid nucleus of players has made sure that Mumbai&nbsp;reached the playoffs in 8 of the last 10 editions, winning 4 of them.
They may be the most successful&nbsp;IPL&nbsp;franchise, but things weren't the same to start with. Despite putting forward a brilliant show each year, MI failed to get their hands on the silverware in the first 5 editions.&nbsp;Their fortunes turned around when Rohit&nbsp;Sharma&nbsp;took over as the skipper. They were crowned the champions in his very first season in charge and once Mumbai&nbsp;got the taste of success, they were hungry for more.&nbsp;
MI won the IPL&nbsp;every alternate year after that and are the defending champions. Apart from their captain, all-rounders&nbsp;form their core group. Pandya&nbsp;brothers and Kieron&nbsp;Pollard have single-handedly&nbsp;decimated oppositions on several occasions. India's premier fast bowler Jasprit&nbsp;Bumrah&nbsp;will once again spearhead the pace attack and&nbsp;Mumbai&nbsp;has further strengthened it by roping in Trent Boult&nbsp;and&nbsp;Nathan Coulter-Nile. Though they will miss the services of IPL's&nbsp;highest wicket-taker Lasith&nbsp;Malinga who has opted out of this edition.
But the 4-time champions look a little weak when it comes to their&nbsp;spinners. Given the turning tracks in UAE, just&nbsp;Jayant Yadav and&nbsp;Rahul Chahar as front-line&nbsp;spinners may be an issue. Though&nbsp;Anukul Roy and Krunal Pandya&nbsp;are good 6th bowling options to have but the team can't completely depend on them.&nbsp;
Never the less, Mumbai&nbsp;have proved their critics wrong many times and they look too good of a side to not go a long way in IPL 2020.
