Monday's announcement comes amidst seat-sharing talks between the two parties, both part of INDIA bloc, for the upcoming general elections. While AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has been reportedly seeking to seal seat arrangements for key states like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Goa, and Gujarat, Congress is believed to be focussing on Delhi and Punjab for the moment, where AAP is in power.
However, several reports indicated that both parties' Punjab unit are vehemently opposed to a potential tie-up, given their fierce rivalry in the state.
The other bone of contention between AAP and Congress is how many seats both of them are willing to concede. Several media reports suggested that the AAP is offering 3 Lok Sabha seats from Delhi to the Congress. In return, Arvind Kejriwal is eyeing 1 Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, 3 in Haryana, and 1 in Goa, reported India Today citing sources.
Earlier, PTI news agency had reported citing sources that the AAP wants to contest the Lok Sabha polls in Gujarat Haryana, and Goa.&nbsp;
During the 2019 general elections, Congress won 8 out of the 13 seats it contested in Punjab, whereas AAP managed to secure only one seat.
In Delhi, on the other hand, both Congress and AAP drew blank, while BJP won handsomely in all of the 8 seats.

Senior AAP leader Atishi posted a video of the alleged incident on Twitter, and wrote, &ldquo;Shocking misbehaviour by this policeman with Manish in Rouse Avenue Court. Delhi Police should suspend him immediately.&rdquo; Slamming the police, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, &ldquo;Does the police have the right to misbehave with Manish Sisodia like this? Has the police been instructed to do this?&rdquo; Reacting to it, the Delhi Police termed the matter as &ldquo;propaganda&rdquo; and said it is &ldquo;against the law&rdquo; for an accused in judicial custody to issue statements to the media.
&ldquo;The matter of policeman misbehaving with Manish Sisodia in Rouse Avenue Court is a propaganda. The policeman was holding Sisodia due to security reasons. It is against the law for an accused in judicial custody to issue statements to the media,&rdquo; the Delhi Police tweeted.

Alleging "total violation of Constitutional provisions" by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in illegal appointment of private individuals as government nominees on the Board of Anil Ambani-owned DISCOMs BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited) and BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited), Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Friday asked for the removal of these nominees and replace them with Senior Government Officers, as had been the practice in the past. These nominees include AAP Spokesperson Jasmine Shah, Naveen ND Gupta (son of AAP MP, ND Gupta), Umesh Tyagi and JS Deswal.
According to the Raj Niwas statement, their nomination to the Boards of the DISCOMs was patently illegal since the due process of law was not followed and their appointment was void ab initio. The LG has taken these decisions on the basis of an inquiry report submitted by the Delhi Power Department and the Chief Secretary in light of a complaint dated September 26, 2022.
These compromised nominees provided undue financial benefits running into thousands of crores to Ambani's DISCOMs, at the cost of the state exchequer and Delhi government-run undertakings (DTL, IPGCL and PPCL). LG has asked for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to be informed about this and action be taken. It has been brought out in the report that, these private individuals were illegally appointed surreptitiously by the AAP government as 'government nominees' on the Board of BRPL and BYPL in 2019, despite written objections on file by the then LG, Najeeb Jung on November 1, 2016 and LG, Anil Baijal on August 11, 2017.

The Capital's AAP govt had earlier this week exempted electric vehicles from road tax on October 11. The chief minister had in August announced the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2020, promising to waive road tax and registration fee and to provide an incentive of up to Rs 1.5 lakh for new cars. The govt has been incentivising&nbsp;electric vehicles to curb pollution in the city.

The CBI has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy scam case on April 16, officials said on Friday. &nbsp;Kejriwal has been asked to be present at the agency headquarters at 11 AM to answer queries of the investigating team, they said. &nbsp;
The central probe agency has already arrested former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the case. &nbsp;It is alleged that the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 to grant licences to liquor traders favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge strongly refuted by the AAP. The policy was later scrapped.
