Reports said the man played cymbals and piano and recited the Hanuman Chalisa while the procedure was underway. A patient is kept conscious during certain brain surgeries to track how they are responding to the stimulus.
Doctors said that the surgery was completed successfully and the 28-year-old man had &ldquo;full control of his motor functions,&rdquo; as per NDTV. Such surgeries, called awake craniotomies, have become increasingly popular.
Such surgeries are preferred when the tumour is &ldquo;close to regions of the brain that control language, cognition, sensation, and body movement,&rdquo; as per the University of California. Brain mapping helps &ldquo;protect the patient&rsquo;s language, sensory, and motor abilities.&rdquo;

Dr Shaurya, who is a psychiatrist, in his post on October 18 said that one of his colleagues is quite asocial and never attends any non-academic events or parties.
Dr Shaurya further said in his post that during a seminar his colleague initiated a game of tic-tac-toe with him. It was only later, that he realised that his friend was collecting samples for adult ADHD. Moreover, Dr Shaurya also shared a picture of a game of tic-tac-toe played on AIIMS prescription paper.&nbsp;

Information regarding the blaze was received at around 11.54 am, following which six fire tenders were rushed to the spot, they said.

The doctors said the child's father had bought him a pair of slippers which had an inbuilt whistle.

Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi removed a whistle which had got stuck in the airways of a 4-year-old child after he accidentally aspirated it, through endoscopy. "Shahin, a native of Nuh distrist in Haryana, was brought to the Mother and Child Block of the hospital Sunday morning," Dr Prabudh Goel, Additional Professor, Department of Paediatric Surgery said.
He said the child's father had bought him a pair of slippers which had an inbuilt whistle. The whistle got dislodged and Shahin put it inside his mouth and it landed in his airways, Goel added. "The child was coughing when he was brought to the emergency ward. He was also in respiratory distress because the airways were compromised... the child was also making a whistling sound while breathing," the doctor said.
The left main bronchas was okay, the left lung was being aerated and that is the reason the child survived. Additionally, there was movement of air into and out of the right lung through the whistle. The parents told us that it took them about one-and-half hours to reach the hospital.

The operation was done in 90 seconds, according to the doctors. The 28-year-old mother, who has suffered three miscarriages, and her husband expressed their desire to continue the current pregnancy and agreed to the surgery after doctors told them about their baby's heart condition.&nbsp;

Mohit allegedly flew into a rage, poured tarpin oil on her, and set her ablaze.

Yet another case of a woman being killed allegedly by her live-in partner has emerged in Delhi. A woman who was allegedly set on fire by her partner died on 20 February 2023, according to news agency ANI.
On 10 February, the woman and her partner Mohit reportedly had a fight after she found him consuming drugs at a friend's house. Mohit allegedly flew into a rage, poured tarpin oil on her, and set her ablaze.
The two had reportedly been living together for 6 years, and the deceased had an 8-year-old son from a previous marriage, and a 4-year-old daughter from her current relationship.
She died at AIIMS Trauma Centre on 20 February.

The Delhi Police's Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit has written to CBI seeking details from Interpol about the IP addresses of email IDs from China and Hong Kong in connection with its probe into the AIIMS server attack case, officials said on Sunday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is India's nodal agency for Interpol matters.
According to sources, the attack on the servers of AIIMS-Delhi is suspected to have originated from locations in China and Hong Kong. Further details have been sought which can be obtained from companies in China and Hong Kong.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi faced the cyber attack on November 23, paralysing its servers. A case of extortion and cyber terrorism was registered by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police on November 25.
Internet services were blocked as per the recommendations of the investigating agencies. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Delhi cybercrime special cell, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, Intelligence Bureau, CBI and National Investigation Agency, are investigating the incident.

On November 23, AIIMS Delhi allegedly faced a cyber attack which paralysed its servers. Later, Delhi Police's Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit registered a case of extortion and cyber terrorism.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the "deliberate and targeted" ransomware attack on the servers of AIIMS Delhi, Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Thursday.
"I can't comment on that as it is a subject matter of an investigation by the NIA...It is pretty clear that it is a deliberate and targeted effort...a ransomware attack on AIIMS' system... and NIA is investigating it," Chandrasekhar said on the sidelines of the CII Global Economic Policy Summit 2022.
The minister further said the NIA "will be in a position to comment on it when they are ready".
Chandrasekhar, last week, had said the ransomware attack on the servers of AIIMS Delhi was a conspiracy.

"It is clearly a conspiracy and it has been planned by forces that are pretty significant. It is a sophisticated ransomware attack. We will wait for the outcome of CERTin and NIA (investigations) before we come to conclusion on who is behind the ransomware attack," Chandrasekhar had said on December 2.
In a ransomware attack, cybercriminals lock access to data or a device and promise to unlock it after they are paid the desired ransom.

Hackers have allegedly demanded an estimated Rs 200 crore in cryptocurrency from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi as its server remained out of order for the sixth consecutive day, official sources said on Monday.
It is feared that data of around 3-4 crore patients could have been compromised due to the breach detected Wednesday morning.
Patient care services in emergency, outpatient, inpatient and laboratory wings are being managed manually as the server remained down, the sources said.
The India Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), Delhi Police and representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs are investigating the ransomware attack.
A case of extortion and cyber terrorism was registered by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police on November 25.
Official sources said internet services are blocked on computers at the hospital on the recommendations of the investigating agencies.
The AIIMS server has stored data of several VIPs, including former prime ministers, ministers, bureaucrats and judges.
"Hackers have allegedly demanded around Rs 200 crore in cryptocurrency," one of the sources told PTI.
Meanwhile, the NIC e-hospital database and application servers for e-hospital have been restored. The NIC team is scanning and cleaning infection from other e-hospital servers located at AIIMS which are required for delivery of hospital services, an official source said.
Four physical servers arranged for restoring e-hospital services have been scanned and prepared for the databases and applications.

Servers at Delhi's AIIMS remained offline for the sixth straight day on Monday after a cyber attack.
The ransomware attack has frozen e-hospital system including appointments and registration at outpatient departments, billing at inpatient departments, laboratory report generation, and smart lab, among others.
While the Delhi Police has registered an FIR against unidentified persons in the matter, multiple agencies including NIA which have joined the probe have not been able to fully crack the case.
However, the investigation so far hints at the origin of the attack to be outside India.

Following a controversy and protests, the director of AIIMS Delhi has withdrawn a letter regarding treatment protocol for sitting Members of Parliament. Doctors' associations had protested against the special measures, calling them an example of "VIP culture".
Initially, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences administration had defended the letter as standard operating procedure (SOP) for MPs. AIIMS had also said that it operates a 24x7 control room, and staff is deployed to "expedite treatment for poorest of the poor".
On 21 October 2022, AIIMS Director M. Srinivas' letter to joint secretary in Lok Sabha secretariat, YM Kandpal, was withdrawn. It had spoken about streamlining treatment facilities for MPs, including OPD, emergency consultation, and hospitalisation services. It also reportedly said that other patients referred by MPs will be assisted by Media and Protocol Division.
The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) said that the only VIP culture should be that the more critical a patient is, the more important they should be for doctors.

Each AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) will be given a name based on regional heroes, freedom fighters, historical events or monuments of the area or their distinct geographical identity. Currently, AIIMS are differentiated on the basis of their location.
Most of the 23 AIIMS have submitted a list of names to the Union health ministry, according to sources quoted by PTI. Apart from fully-functional institutes, partially-operational and under-construction AIIMS will also be christened.
Out of the 16 AIIMS established between 2015 and 2022, MBBS classes and outpatient department services have been started in 10 institutes, while only MBBS classes have been started in another two. The remaining four institutes are at different stages of development, as per PTI.

A protest was staged at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS, in Delhi on April 26. The AIIMS nurses union began an "indefinite strike" against the suspension of its president Harish Kumar Kajla. The union called the AIIMS administration "undemocratic" and said that Kajla had been suspended without citing proper reasons.
Meanwhile, the AIIMS administration issued a memorandum stating that no employees or faculty members were allowed to stop work for any reason. Nurses were asked to abide by the code of conduct.
Harish Kajla, who was suspended, said that the entire issue was over the safety of women nurses, who were demanding a change in duty hours. He said, "For the last 1, 1.5 years, safety issues were being highlighted over the shifts of women employees. Their duty hours were ending around 9 pm. There's a rise in crime in Delhi late at night. They used to be worried. They suffered eve-teasing etc at bus stops. They raised this issue with the union. The union sent 2-3 written communications to AIIMS admin that duty hours at AIIMS operation theatres and wards end at 8 pm. But in the main OT area, it ends at 9 pm, and women have been facing safety and security issues. Union sought change in duty hours. We had been requesting for 1, 1.5 years, but it wasn't done."

The victims were aged between 2 years and 14, and exhibited symptoms like fever and seizures, before death. Joint director (health) Jogeshwar Prasad was quoted as saying that the cases seem to be of an acute viral disease, but lab tests would give the final answer.
Authorities have reportedly surveyed 300 houses and sent 58 samples to a lab in Jaipur. The affected children reportedly died within a day of exhibiting the symptoms. Officials said that at least 3 of the victims had consumed local flavoured ice, but food poisoning could not have caused such quick deaths.
The cases have been reported from Fulabai Kheda and Fulaber villages. AIIMS Jodhpur is also reportedly sending a team of doctors to the affected areas.
