Taking Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath head on, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has cautioned people not to be swayed by the BJP’s attempts to shift their attention to alleged exodus of people in Kairana during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.
Both Shah and Adityanath have raised the issue of the alleged exodus in the state’s Shamli district  during recent election rallies.
At a mahapanchayat in Kairana, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait whose outfit was part of the 13-month-long agrarian protests against the Centre, told a mammoth gathering that the Kairana exodus is a government plan and do not get influenced by it.
In 2016, former BJP MP Hukum Singh had claimed that close to 350 Hindus had left Kairana which was affected in the riots, due to threats from criminals. At the time, the Shamli district administration conducted a survey and claimed that only three families had fled the town after receiving alleged extortion threats.
In his speech on Sunday, Tikait, who received a rousing welcome at the mahapanchayat, cautioned people to remain alert about attempts to wedge a rift among them and asked them to remain focussed on issues such as employment.

Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has alleged some people are trying to frame him in a false case. Tweeting photos of two men in a car on Friday, Malik claimed that they have been doing a 'recce' of his house and grand children's school, asking for details. A camera is seen in the hands of one of the two men. 
'If anyone knows them please let me know. Those who are in this picture, I want to tell them that if you want any information about me, then I will give all the information,' Malik further said in the tweet.

"I will complain to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and Home Minister Amit Shah and demand an investigation. I have solid evidence how some people are trying to implicate me (in a false case)," Malik said on Saturday.

The BJP has set a target of 350 seats this time. The party strategy is to corner 50% of votes in UP.
The state has around 15 crore voters and on an average sees 60% polling, which means around 10 crore votes. The party is eyeing 5 crore of these.
This is where the new membership drive comes in. BJP already claims to have 2.5 cr members in the state.
Amit Shah has set a target of 1.5 crore new members for the state BJP leaders ahead of the elections. With 4 crore registered members, party aims to cross the 5 crore votes mark.
Second, alliances in Purvanchal: While former ally OP Rajbhar has defected to the SP, the BJP has sealed its alliances with the Nishad Party and Apna Dal in Purvanchal. Both the parties have pockets of influence in Eastern UP.
Thirdly, the BJP aims to keep Caste equations intact. The party is trying to woo the non-Jatav Dalits, keep its core base of the forward castes with the party and get more non-Yadav OBCs in its fold.

The state has around 15 crore voters and on an average sees 60% polling, which means around 10 crore votes. The party is eyeing 5 crore of these.

Mizoram chief minister has written to home minister Amit Shah pointing out that state ministers don't understand Hindi and thus Centre's order should be modified in local language.
In his letter CM Pu Zoramthanga has stated that some ministers don't even know English. He has pitched for government orders in local Mizo language.
The CM has also urged Shah to replace the state chief secretary who does not have a working knowledge of the Mizo language.
The CM has also pointed out that previous central governments never appointed a chief secretary who didn't have working understanding of Mizo language.
"A Chief Secretary without the knowledge of a working standard Mizo language will never be an effective and efficient Chief Secretary," the Chief Minister said in his letter.
"Due to this fact, the Government of India never posted a Chief Secretary who does not know the working standard of Mizo language since the creation of the state of Mizoram. Whether it is the UPA Government or the NDA Government at the Centre, this has been a practice since the creation of Mizoram State. It is a well-known fact that in other States of India, a Chief Secretary, who does not know even the basic working language of the the respective state is never posted at all," the Chief Minister added.

A PTI report quoting sources said 50 companies of additional paramilitary forces are being inducted into the valley in the wake of the recent spate of civilian killings.
Bunkers manned by paramilitary CRPF have come up in several areas of Srinagar as well in other parts of the valley.
The mobile internet services on a dozen towers -- mostly in the areas where non-local labourers were killed in the past week -- were snapped three days ago as part of the security measures.
Police have started stringent checking of documents of two-wheelers plying on the roads and many have been seized by police. However, IGP, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar had said these steps were purely related to terror violence.

Home Minister Amit Shah is in Srinagar as part of his 3-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir during which he will review the security situation in the country. 

This is his first visit to the erstwhile state after the scrapping of Article 370 and its bifurcation&nbsp;into two union territories.&nbsp;

After his arrival, the home minister visited&nbsp;residence of slain CID inspector Parvez Ahmed in&nbsp;Srinagar's&nbsp;Nowgam to offer condolences. Parvez was killed by militants in June 2021.
A PTI report quoting sources said 50 companies of additional paramilitary forces are being inducted into the valley in the wake of the recent spate of civilian killings.
Bunkers manned by paramilitary CRPF have come up in several areas of Srinagar as well in other parts of the valley.
The mobile internet services on a dozen towers -- mostly in the areas where non-local labourers were killed in the past week -- were snapped three days ago as part of the security measures.
Police have started stringent checking of documents of two-wheelers plying on the roads and many have been seized by police. However, IGP, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar had said these steps were purely related to terror violence.

Amit&nbsp;Shah has in an interview to Sansad&nbsp;TV called&nbsp;the illiterate population of India 'a burden to the country.'&nbsp;
While referring to the past actions of the then CM of Gujarat Modi&nbsp;to reduce the school drop out rate of the state, Amit&nbsp;Shah went on to say that the 'uneducated can never be a good citizen'.
The home minister also lauded the efforts of the Prime Minister in order to maintain democracy in the rulings of the Union Cabinet, belaying accusations of 'autocratic' rule by the PM.&nbsp;

Home Minister&nbsp;Amit&nbsp;Shah in an interview to Sansad&nbsp;TV said that illiterate people are a burden on the country. Explaining his remark, he said that how can an uneducated person who neither knows the fundamental rights given to them by the Constitution nor the fundamental duties expected of them be a good citizen.&nbsp;
The Home Minister also spoke about how the Modi government has contributed towards increasing enrolment in schools.&nbsp;
He also highlighted how PM Narendra Modi&nbsp;had started an enrolment drive when he was chief minister of Gujarat which led to schoold&nbsp;dropout rate in the state decreasing from 37% to 1%.&nbsp;
