Two devotees of self-styled godman Asaram, who is serving life term in Jodhpur Central Jail in a rape case, allegedly assaulted his lawyers in the new high court premises here after a hearing in a separate case on Thursday, police said.
Lawyers in turn caught the two devotees and thrashed them before handing them over to the police.
The two devotees first abused and then assaulted lawyer Vijay Sahni and his assistant as they were heading to the parking lot after a hearing on his appeal to be treated in a Delhi hospital.
The accused &ndash; Kota-based doctor Kapil Bhola and Delhi resident Vishal Khanna &ndash; have been devotees of Asaram for a long time.
According to the police, the duo complained to the lawyers that despite multiple hearings over several years, they &ldquo;were not able to bring justice&rdquo; to Asaram&rdquo;.
Devendra Deora, SHO, Kudi Bhagtasni police station said that two devotees have been arrested and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the reason behind the assault.
Rajasthan High Court Advocates' Association president Ratnaram Tholiya said that the Advocates' Protection Bill, which is pending with the government, needs to be immediately implemented.
Anand Purohit, president of the Rajasthan High Court Lawyers' Association questioned the entry of the &ldquo;unauthorised persons&rdquo; in the court premises.
Asaram's supporters visiting him during court appearances and hospital visits is not an uncommon occurrence.
The 81-year-old self-styled godman is currently serving a life sentence in a Jodhpur jail after being convicted for raping a girl at his ashram in Rajasthan in 2013.
He has been sentenced to life imprisonment in another rape case, based on a complaint filed by a former woman disciple for raping her on several occasions at his ashram at Motera near Ahmedabad.

The film&rsquo;s trailer was released on Monday that showed Manoj portraying the role of lawyer PC Solanki, who fought for the minor in the Asaram case.
Asaram, incarcerated self-styled godman, has reportedly taken offense to the film and has sent a legal notice to the makers. He has asked the courts to issue &lsquo;prohibitory orders against the promotion and release of the film.&rsquo;
According to ETimes report, Asaram&rsquo;s lawyers have claimed that the film is &lsquo;highly objectionable&rdquo; and &lsquo;defamatory&rsquo; towards their client. They further said that the film has the potential to &lsquo;tarnish his reputation and hit sentiments of his devotees.&rsquo;

A court in Gujarat's Gandhinagar on Monday convicted self-styled godman Asaram in a woman disciple rape case registered against him in 2013.

The court acquitted six other accused, including Asaram's wife, due to the lack of evidence.
As per the FIR lodged at Chandkheda police station in Ahmedabad, Asaram allegedly raped the woman on several occasions from 2001 to 2006 when she was living at his ashram on the outskirts of the city.
"The court has accepted the prosecution case and convicted Asaram under sections 376 2(C) (rape), 377 (unnatural offences) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code for illegal detention, among others," special public prosecutor RC Kodekar said on Monday.
The controversial godman is currently lodged in jail in Jodhpur in another rape case.
A Surat-based woman had filed a case of rape and illegal confinement against Asaram Bapu and seven others, one of whom died during the pendency of the trial, in October 2013. A chargesheet was filed in July 2014.&nbsp;
