In another hit-and-run case similar to the Pune accident, a 63-year-old man was run over by a speeding Audi car in Noida, killing him on the spot.

&ldquo;A man identified as Pradeep, who lives near Gijhor village, today approached the Sector 24 police station and informed officials that his father Janak Dev Sah has met with an accident involving a car and he has passed away,&rdquo; Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manish Mishra said.
&ldquo;An FIR was immediately lodged in the case and legal proceedings were initiated, including the post-mortem. For the identification of the vehicle, CCTV footage is being checked and other police teams are also working on the case,&rdquo; Mishra said.
A CCTV footage showed the victim being struck by a white Audi.
He said the police would soon find the car and ensure further action in the case.
In a similar incident in Noida on May 16, two people, including a nurse, died while three others were hospitalised after their e-rickshaw was hit by a minor driving a BMW.
Two occupants of the BMW car were apprehended by the police while their third partner fled the spot. An FIR was lodged in the case, according to police.
Gautam Buddh Nagar, which comprises Noida and Greater Noida cities, witnessed 1,176 road crashes in 2023 that resulted in the deaths of 470 people and injuries to 858 people.
The district had recorded 437 such deaths and injuries to 856 people in 2022, according to official data.&nbsp;

As per reports, 5 people were severely injured and are currently in the hospital. No deaths have been reported in the incident.&nbsp;
In the accident, both the car and the toilet were damaged. As this incident was reported to the police, teams immediately rushed to the spot.&nbsp;

German luxury car manufacturer Audi on Monday reported a 97 per cent jump in retail sales in India at 3,474 units in the first half of 2023, as compared to the same period last year.
The company had sold 1,765 units in the January to June period in 2022, Audi India said in a statement.
"Our performance in the first half of the year, despite supply challenges and rising input costs has laid the foundation for a successful second half of the year," Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon said.
He further said, "our volume models Audi Q3, Audi Q3 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi A4 and Audi A6 are seeing strong demand. Our top-of-the-line cars Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Audi A8 L, Audi S5 Sportback, Audi RS5 Sportback, Audi RS Q8 and Audi RS e-tron GT are also growing in healthy numbers." The company said its pre-owned car business 'Audi Approved: plus' grew by 53 per cent in the first six months of 2023 and will continue to expand it further in the country.
"Currently operating with 23 Audi Approved: plus facilities across all major hubs in the country, the brand is expanding and will have 27-plus pre-owned car facilities by the end of 2023," it said.
On the company's electrification journey, Dhillon said, "our electric range will soon witness a new model, the Audi Q8 e-tron and we are confident of continued success in this segment." Audi India's other electric models include e-tron 50, e-tron 55, e-tron Sportback 55, e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT.

The blaze was reported around 3 PM on Thursday. A senior fire brigade official said, 'No one was injured and the fire was doused within 15 minutes.'
The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official added.&nbsp;
