Filmmaker Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light" has bagged a nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards.

Just recently, the movie was named the Best International Film by New York Film Critics Circle and won an award in the same category at the Gotham Awards.

Filmmaker Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light" has bagged a nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards.
The nominations for the awards ceremony, to be held on January 12, 2025, were announced on Thursday evening by the Critics Choice Association (CCA).
In the best foreign language film category, "All We Imagine As Light" is pitted against France's "Emilia P&eacute;rez", Latvia's "Flow", Ireland's "Kneecap", Brazil's "I'm Still Here" and Germany's "The Seed of the Sacred Fig", which is directed by dissident Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof.
The nod at the Critics Choice Awards for "All We Imagine As Light" comes days after the film picked up two nominations at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards.
The Malayalam-Hindi film, which marks Kapadia's feature directorial debut, is nominated for Best Motion Picture Non-English Language and the Best Direction - Motion Picture at the upcoming awards.
The film, an official India-French co-production, charted history by becoming the first Indian title from India to win the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
It follows two nurses Prabha (Kani Kusruti) and Anu (Divya Prabha) from Kerala navigating life and love in Mumbai along with their friend and cook Parvaty (Chhaya Kadam).
Just recently, the movie was named the Best International Film by New York Film Critics Circle and won an award in the same category at the Gotham Awards.
"All We Imagine As Light" claimed the top spot at the Sight and Sound magazine's annual list of 50 best movies of the year.
The film is being distributed in the US by Janus Films and Sideshow. Rana Daggubati&rsquo;s Spirit Media released the film across India in November.
The 30th Critics Choice Awards will be hosted by Chelsea Handler. The awards gala will livestream on Lionsgate Play in India.

Malayalam filmmaker-actor Basil Joseph has got the Best Director (Fiction) award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his film &lsquo;Minnal Murali&rsquo;.

Malayalam filmmaker-actor Basil Joseph won the Best Director (Fiction) award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his 2021 hit Netflix superhero film &lsquo;Minnal Murali&rsquo;. The annual ceremony honours content from across 16 APAC countries. It announced the grand winners at the Chijmes Hall in Singapore on Thursday evening. The in-person award distribution of AACA took place after a gap of two years.
In his acceptance speech, Basil said, &lsquo;There have been tons of superhero stories in the past and creating one with a new story and vision was challenging to say the least. The Asian Academy Creative Awards recognising my work and praising it has showcased my success in doing so.&rsquo; &lsquo;It has been a joyride to work with such incredible actors, producers, writers and Netflix, who supported my vision and brought it to life in such a beautiful manner. You are only as good as your team, and I am elated to have worked with such a beautiful one,&rsquo; the filmmaker-actor added.
&lsquo;Minnal Murali&rsquo;, starring Tovino Thomas, tells the tale of two social pariahs, who end up gaining superhuman strengths after being struck by the same lighting. One has a hero&rsquo;s legacy to live up to, while the other one hurts those who hurt him. The film also starred Guru Somasundaram, Aju Varghese, and Shelly Kishore.

Ranveer Singh was awarded the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year 2022 award on Tuesday. He was felicitated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis.
At the ceremony, the actor touched Nana Patekar&rsquo;s feet to take his blessings and also kissed him on the cheek.

In the clip, Ranveer, who was seated among the audience, is seen standing up and saluting the people present there. He can then be seen gesturing to swing a bat in the air. He touches the stairs leading to the stage.
Ranveer touched Nana Patekar&rsquo;s feet on stage to take his blessings. He also hugged the veteran actor and kissed him on his cheek. The duo shook hands before Ranveer received his award.

On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's &lsquo;Cirkus&rsquo;, along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. He will star in Karan Johar&rsquo;s &lsquo;Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani&rsquo; with Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.&nbsp;
Nana Patekar was last seen in the movie &lsquo;It&rsquo;s My Life&rsquo; (2020), directed by Anees Bazmee. The film also starred Harman Baweja and Genelia D&rsquo;Souza.&nbsp;
