Upon arrival in Dallas, Babar was seen engaging in a conversation with the Indian icon. The pair was seen exchanging handshakes before engaging in a brief discussion. Babar Azam was delighted to come across Sunil Gavaskar, who has frequently praised the Pakistan batting sensation.

This defeat coincides with the Pakistan cricket team's decision to settle for a 2-2 draw against the understrength New Zealand. The Men in Green lost the series even with 15 of New Zealand' best players were out of the field, and now they are down to a team that isn't even in the top 10 of the ICC's team rankings.&nbsp;
The home team produced two runouts earlier in the first inning, and Campher and Barry McCarthy took two outstanding long catches.
Pakistan was severely hindered in the middle overs by fast bowler Craig Young, who gave up just 27 runs while getting out Babar Azam and Azam Khan in the same over.
Iftikhar Ahmed provided them a boost at the end with an unbeaten 37, including 17 in the final over, to take Pakistan's score to a respectable total of 182. &nbsp;
Harry Tector laid the groundwork for the 183-run chase with a 77-run partnership with Balbirnie for the third wicket, while cameos from George Dockrell and Curtis Campher took Ireland over the line with 1 delivery remaining.

"As a team, you always plan against different teams and according to their strengths. We do not plan anything against one player. We plan for all 11 players. We do not know much about the conditions in New York and we will plan accordingly. He [Virat Kohli] is one of the best players and we will plan against him as well," he said.
Virat has given Pakistan bowlers nightmares in T20Is and has scored 488 runs at an average of over 81 in 10 matches. He has a strike rate of over 123, with 5 half-centuries. His best score is 82 not out.
India is placed in Group A and begin its campaign against Ireland on June 5. Their marque clash against arch rivals Pakistan is scheduled on June 9.

In a conversation with Zalmi TV, Azam expressed his astonishment at the warm reception and affection he received from Indian fans, something he hadn't anticipated before his arrival.
Azam revealed his initial reservations due to his lack of familiarity with India, saying, &ldquo;Main India se expect nahi kar raha tha (I was not expecting it from India),&rdquo; highlighting his surprise at fans chanting his name. &ldquo;Mai bilkul nahi expect kar raha tha. Main first time ja raha tha India, mujhe wahaan ki koi knowledge nahi thi (I was not expecting it at all. It was my first time in India and I had no knowledge about the country).&rdquo;
The warmth and welcome extended to the Pakistani team went beyond Azam's expectations, particularly noting the reception at Hyderabad airport as "outstanding." The entire stadium in Hyderabad was jam-packed).&rdquo; This support was a testament to the cricket-loving culture in India, where the sport transcends borders.
The atmosphere during the match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium was notably unique for Azam. He described it as a "different vibe," with the stadium awash in a sea of blue, indicative of the passionate fanbase in India. However, he also acknowledged the exceptional support received at other venues throughout the tournament.
Azam also shared insights into his post-match conversation with Virat Kohli, highlighting the mutual respect and willingness to learn from each other. &ldquo;I always try and talk to him whenever we play against each other. Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was on Sunday reappointed as the white-ball captain, two months ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The decision was taken after a unanimous recommendation from the Pakistan Cricket Board&rsquo;s (PCB) selection committee.
"Following unanimous recommendation from the PCB&rsquo;s selection committee, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as white-ball (ODI and T20I) captain of the Pakistan men's cricket team," the PCB said in a media release.
Babar had stepped down as captain from all three formats for Pakistan after a disappointing outing at the ODI World Cup in India in November last year.
Babar had relinquished his role after the then PCB chief Zaka Ashraf told him he would no longer be captain in white-ball formats and would only lead the Test team.
Babar replaces fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20 captain, who led Pakistan in the 1-4 series loss against New Zealand in January.
The T20 World Cup will begin from June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.

The practice of Pakistan to alternate captains has always proven problematic. When Babar Azam, a mainstay of contemporary cricket, took on the leadership role in recent years, this appeared to be the end of it. But the uncertainty surrounding the captaincy has returned since his resignation following Pakistan's disastrous November 2023 elimination from the ODI World Cup, where they were unable to advance to the semi-finals.
Shaheen Afridi was handed captaincy duties in T20Is but now, as per the Espncricinfo, Babar Azam is set to be reinstated as Pakistan's T20I skipper. The report further reveals that the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi met Babar earlier this week to make the offer.
The report further reveals that Babar Azam has not yet accepted the offer and has asked the PCB to be appointed captain across all three formats if he is to consider a return.&nbsp;
Babar was removed as captain in the white-ball format immediately after the World Cup when Zaka Ashraf was PCB chairman. He then opted to step down as red-ball captain as well.
Babar had held the position of captain in all formats since 2020 but poor performances in the Asia Cup and World Cup led to his axing.
Pakistan's next series, which Babar is expected to lead his side out for once more, comes against New Zealand in April, with the two sides playing five T20Is.

New Zealand overcame the loss of its captain in an innings that faltered late to beat Pakistan by 21 runs in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. With that win, the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series.

New Zealand overcame the loss of its captain in an innings that faltered late to beat Pakistan by 21 runs in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. With that win, the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series.
The Blackcaps failed to build on the foundation of the first half of its innings, making 194/8 batting first after being 111/1 at the end of 10 overs. The batting slump followed captain Kane Williamson retiring hurt after 10 overs with a tight hamstring.
Pakistan also stumbled in the second half of its innings and was bowled out for 173 in the 20th over.
Williamson is making a managed return from a serious knee injury and New Zealand would fear any setback to his rehabilitation. But, while he didn't field, Williamson was still padded up and apparently prepared to bat at the end of the New Zealand innings.
Finn Allen's 74 from 41 balls set a cracking pace early on in the New Zealand innings. Allen put on 59 in 5.1 overs with Devon Conway (20) for the first wicket and 52 in 4.9 overs with Williamson before the Kiwi captain retired hurt on 26.
The innings began to falter at that point and New Zealand lost three for 35 between the 11th and 16th overs. Allen was out at 137 for two, then Daryl Mitchell fell at 147 and Mark Chapman followed at 157 as the innings began to trend sharply downwards.
Mitchell Santner made a bright 25 before being wastefully run out as New Zealand lost its last seven wickets for 55 runs.
&ldquo;It was a good surface which we've come to expect here at Sedden Park and the way Finn Allen and the boys at the top set it up was very pleasing,&rdquo; New Zealand's stand-in captain Tim Southee said. &ldquo;But Pakistan pulled it back well and the two innings were quite similar in a way.&rdquo;
New Zealand was relieved Pakistan also produced an innings of two halves. It looked well on course to level the series when Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman made half-centuries in an 87-run partnership for the third wicket.
Fakhar reached his half-century from 23 balls with three fours and five sixes and seemed likely to follow Allen in providing the impetus for a substantial innings. But, he was out at that score and the onus once again fell on Babar to guide Pakistan home.
He made 57 and was the anchor of Pakistan's innings in the first international at Auckland on Friday when the tourists fell 46 runs short in a demanding run chase.
Babar followed his 31st T20 international half-century with his 32nd Sunday, again as the bulwark of the Pakistan batting.
But, he fell for 66 to the first ball of the 18th over when Pakistan was 153-5, needing 42 from the last 18 balls.
He was out to the bowling of speedster Ben Sears as he was in the first match and his dismissal again heralded the beginning of the end for Pakistan.
Sears, Adam Milne and Southee helped New Zealand put the brakes on Pakistan at the end of its innings. Milne took four for 33, Sears two for 28, Southee two for 31 and Ish Sodhi took two for 33 after conceding 19 runs from his first over.
&ldquo;Milne was outstanding with the ball and Sears is a young guy who shows a lot of character at this level,&rdquo; Southee said. &ldquo;I think Ish Sodhi shouldn't be overlooked in his effort to come back and get two vital wickets for us.&rdquo;
