The All India Bank Employee Association (AIBEA) have announced a series of strikes beginning December 4th. These strikes will be staggered until January 20th. This strike will effect both private and public banks across the country. A notification to this effect has been released by the AIBEA

<h3>All India Bank Strike - Reasons for the strike </h3>
The association has announced a strike, demanding the following
<ul>
<li>Adequate recruitment of Award staff in all the banks</li>
<li>No outsourcing of permanent jobs in Banks</li>
<li>Stop violations of provisions of BP settlement relating to outsourcing</li>
</ul>
BP or Bipartite settlement is an agreement signed between IBA and the association on salary, allowances and service conditions revision

SBI in an exchange filing said "We advise that while the Bank has made necessary arrangements to ensure normal functioning in its branches and offices on the days of strike, it is likely that work in our Bank may be impacted by the strike." ‘Bank Bachao, Desh Bachao’ has been the slogan for the unions marking their protest at Jantar Mantar since December 1 against the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which is scheduled yo be introduced in the Winter Session of the Parliament. The bill aims to privatise public sector banks.
