This unusual addition quickly drew criticism from various animal welfare organizations, which called for Max's release from the show. After public outcry, the producers ultimately decided to remove the donkey from the Bigg Boss house.
A few days ago, People For Animals (PFA) also raised concerns about Max's presence on the show. PFA expressed their gratitude to Maneka Sanjay Gandhi on social media, stating 'We are pleased to inform you that the Bigg Boss team has updated us with the news that they have released the donkey.
This success is a direct result of the collective efforts of everyone who supported and joined this cause. Thank you for standing with us and showing that compassion and action can make a real difference.&rdquo;
PETA also voiced its objections, criticizing the show's decision to treat Max as a mere entertainment prop. They demanded that he should be relocated to a sanctuary. The organization even wrote to show host Salman Khan, urging him to influence the producers to reconsider their approach.
Max became the first contestant to be evicted from Bigg Boss 18. His removal highlighted collective action of individuals and organizations advocating for animal rights.

However, it was the introduction of a '19th contestant' that sparked curiosity. An actual donkey named 'Gadhraj', was brought into the house. The decision to include an animal in the show has drawn mixed reactions from the audience. While some found it humorous, others expressed concern over the ethical implications of keeping the donkey in a confined house.
Animal welfare organization PETA India has now raised its concerns through a letter addressed to Bigg Boss host Salman Khan. Shaurya Agrawal, an advocacy associate with PETA, wrote to Salman, emphasizing the distress caused to the public over the inclusion of Gadhraj. The letter urges the host to intervene and ensure the donkey is rehomed to a sanctuary. PETA stresses that animals should not be used as entertainment props, and the donkey's presence in the house could be harmful to its well-being.
The donkey was introduced on the premiere day by Salman Khan, who entrusted the contestants with its care. While some viewers have found the inclusion of the animal amusing, others believe that it is unfair to keep a social animal like a donkey in such a setting.&nbsp;

In its order, the Delhi HC said, 'If such mushrooming of websites, which also use the name Bigg Boss, is permitted, it would boost piracy and unauthorised dissemination, causing heavy losses to the plaintiff.'

Delhi High Court has restrained the unauthorised streaming of Salman Khan-hosted reality show &lsquo;Bigg Boss&rsquo;. According to news agency PTI, the court also said that the mushrooming of websites illegally broadcasting its content would boost piracy, &lsquo;causing heavy losses to the plaintiff&rsquo;.
The court said the programme enjoys &lsquo;enormous popularity&rsquo; and illegal dissemination of its content, irrespective of past and future seasons, would be an infringement of the plaintiff&rsquo;s copyright over the broadcast and reproduction rights of the show.
&lsquo;If any further websites with the name Bigg Boss are found by the plaintiff or any other websites which are telecasting illegally the programmes of the plaintiff, an application shall be filed impleading these websites. The present injunction shall accordingly extend to those websites as well,&rsquo; the judge said.
&lsquo;If such mushrooming of websites, which also use the name Bigg Boss, is permitted, it would boost piracy and unauthorised dissemination, causing heavy losses to the plaintiff, which may have obtained the rights in the said event or programme after making considerable investment,&rsquo; said the court.
The court further noted that the plaintiff&rsquo;s OTT platform, JioCinema, is a subscription-based platform and if the illegal websites are allowed to telecast these programmes in an unauthorised manner, the subscription base is likely to be jeopardised.
Commenting on the court&rsquo;s decision, Viacom18&rsquo;s general counsel Anil Lale said, &lsquo;The issuance of this dynamic injunction order underscores the court&rsquo;s profound recognition of the inherent value of content and the pressing need to combat piracy in real time. The proactive stance taken by the honourable court provides invaluable support in our continuing fight against piracy.&rsquo;
Currently, the 17th season of Bigg Boss is being aired on Colors TV.

Salman Khan is all set to return as the host of the popular reality show 'Bigg Boss 17'. Colors TV shared the first teaser of 'Bigg Boss 17' on September 14 in which Salman Khan says viewers will get to see Bigg Boss in three avatars.
The promo starts with Salman telling the audience that until now people have only seen the eye of Bigg Boss, but in the seventeenth season, they will get to see his three avatars.&nbsp;
He first appears in an orange kurta-pyjama as he opens the door to a room with pink lights and heart-shaped leaves. He announces the first avatar, 'Dil (Heart).'
Salman then opens the second door in a black shirt and grey trousers which he accessorised with a cowboy hat and looking glasses.
He said, 'Dimag hi dimag (Brain).'
The last avatar is &lsquo;Dum (strength)&rsquo; as Salman appears wearing a bullet-proof jacket.
The actor leaves the fans in anticipation as he says, 'Abhi ke liye itna hi, promo hua khatam (For now, just this much. The promo has ended).'
The new season will likely premiere in October and it will explore a new theme.
