Rail Traffic remained disrupted for about 10 hours after the overhead equipment (OHE) on Delhi-Howrah rail line broke following 15658 Brahmaputra Mail's collision with a bull, a senior Railway official said on Saturday.
The train was on its way to Delhi from Dibrugarh, when it collided with the animal near Bharwari railway station in the district, he said.
After the incident at 8.50 pm Friday night, all trains upline were stopped, and a railway team repaired the line reaching the spot from Prayagraj, restoring the rail traffic after 10 hours this morning, Bharwari station superintendent D N Yadav said.
The incident took place about 2km before the Bharwari railway station, after which the engine driver somehow brought the train to platform number two of the station.
Following the incident, many major trains, including Lichchavi Express, Mahabodhi Express, and Purushottam Express were stopped at previous stations.
The line was repaired by a team of the Electrical Department of Railways which reached there from Prayagraj with a power wagon.
The engine of Brahmaputra Mail had also developed some technical snag, Yadav said, adding that no one was hurt in the incident.

The film will reportedly star the director himself and Vicky Kaushal in the male lead roles. 'Jee Le Zaraa' is expected to hit theatres in the second half of 2023.

Actor Alia Bhatt has turned producer with her upcoming film 'Darlings', produced by her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is touted to be a dark comedy, starring Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah in lead roles. Set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a conservative lower-middle-class neighbourhood, 'Darlings' traces the unique story of a quirky mother-daughter duo navigating through crazy circumstances as they try to find their place in the world. 2 friends cover 400 km of swollen Brahmaputra on self-created raft

The aim of the thrilling experience was to highlight the potential for water sports and rafting in Assam. It took them a week to build the 25-feet-long, 17-feet wide bamboo raft, using 170 bamboo shoots and named it Sibuk.

One person drowned in Nagaon district taking the number of deaths in flood-related incidents in the state this year to 119, officials said.&nbsp;Nagaon is the worst-hit district with close to 2 lakh&nbsp;affected people.&nbsp;As many as 389 villages are submerged and 13,463 hectares of crops have been damaged across Assam, according to the official estimates.

Guwahati, PTI: The flood situation in Assam deteriorated on Monday with nearly 3.18 lakh people suffering due to the deluge in 13 districts, an official bulletin said.
One person drowned in Raha area in Nagaon district, the daily flood report issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said.
The fresh fatality has taken the number of deaths in flood-related incidents in the state this year to 119, it said.
Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Kamrup, Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Majuli, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and West Karbi Anglong districts have been affected by the deluge.
Nagaon is the worst-hit district with 1.99 lakh affected people, followed by Morigaon (36,400) and Kamrup (25,100), the report said.
The number of people affected by the deluge was 2.25 lakh till Sunday, it said.
As many as 389 villages are submerged and 13,463 hectares of crops have been damaged across Assam, the report said.
Authorities are running 13 relief camps and distribution centres in four districts, where 117 people have taken shelter, it said.
The mighty Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger level at Nimatighat in Jorhat district and Tezpur in Sonitpur.

Due to the release of sewage and no fresh water discharge, the quality in these rivers do not qualify criteria for even outdoor bathing. Apart from Ganga the other rivers include Beas, Chambal, Sutlej and Swarnarekha.
However, the report said improvement was seen in the water quality of Brahmani, Brahmaputra, Cauvery, Godavari, Krishna, Tapi and Yamuna due to minimal industrial&nbsp;discharge, no human activities like puja material and garbage disposals.
The pollution watchdog had asked the State Pollution Control Boards to monitor&nbsp;the quality of water during the lockdown period.
