The Bihar govt has said that the collapse of an under-construction bridge over Ganga in Bhagalpur was part of a preventive plan to pull down the structure as it was found to be defective.

Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that after a portion of the bridge collapses in April 2022, experts studied the structure and informed the state govt that it had serious defects.&nbsp;
Officials said that though a final report from an IIT-Rourkee team is awaited they decided to pull down the bridge as preventive action.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The officials added that a team of officers visited the site to take stock of the damage and ensure early restoration of the bridge.

Two truck drivers were injured when a vital bridge over a rivulet collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said on Monday.
The bridge over the Badora rivulet, linking Mahore and Chassana, ostensibly collapsed under the weight of loaded trucks on their way to nearby Rajouri district on Sunday, officials added.
Both the trucks fell into the stream, resulting in injuries to their drivers - Amjid Khan and Shoukat Ali of Rajouri.
They have been admitted to a hospital, the officials said, adding that a case was registered.
The officials added that a team of officers visited the site to take stock of the damage and ensure early restoration of the bridge.
