According to the officials, the BSF recovered the drone from a farming field nearby Dal village in district Tarn Taran on Wednesday.&nbsp;
"On Tuesday, during the morning hours, while BSF troups were carrying out area domination patrolling in the area ahead of the border fence in district Tarn Taran, at about 11:20 am, a crushing sound was heard under a reaper machine that was making straw in a wheat field ahead of the border fence," the official statement said.
Upon reaching nearby, the BSF stopped the machine and observed that a drone was crushed under the reaper and found in fully damaged condition in the wheat field, it added. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavice 3 classic. '
"This recovery of an illicit drone underscores the sincere efforts of the BSF, which is committed to decimating the drone menace from across the border," the BSF added.

According to an official BSF release, "Based on information on April 25, 2024, BSF intelligence set up about the presence of a drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district, a joint search operation by BSF troops with Punjab Police was conducted in the suspected area." The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Matrice 300 RTK. "During the search operation, at about 10.15 pm, troops successfully recovered one drone in broken condition from a farming field adjacent to village Khemkaran in Tarn Taran District," said the release. The statement further stated that reliable information and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab police successfully recovered yet another illicit drone from across the border.

Promptly responding to this information, BSF troops conducted a thorough search operation in the suspected area.
During the search operation at about 06:13 am, BSF troops recovered one packet of suspected heroin, weighing 350 grams.
The narcotics were found wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a nylon loop. This recovery took place in a wheat field adjacent to Kalsian village in Tarn Taran District.
The reliable information provided by the BSF intelligence wing and the vigilant action of the troops has significantly contributed to thwarting narcotics smuggling bids from across the border, said the BSF.

The BSF further said, "Two packets wrapped with yellow adhesive tape containing suspected heroin (gross weight - approximately 3.380 Kgs) and one packet wrapped with white polythene sheet containing 01 Pistol with 02 magazines."
"A metal hook and one illumination ball were found attached to the main packet. The recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to the village Kakkar in the district of Amritsar. This significant achievement of weapons and narcotics by BSF is a result of reliable input and highly dedicated efforts by the BSF troops resolute to annihilate the illegal weapon and drug menace from the soil of Punjab," it added.

On February 19, acting on specific intelligence received by BSF regarding the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Amritsar, troops promptly initiated an extensive search operation, BSF's Public Relations Officer said in a statement.
"During the search, at about 12:15 pm, the vigilant troops of BSF successfully retrieved 1 packet of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 700 grams. The packet was found with a steel hook attached to it and wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, which was partially burnt. This recovery occurred in a farming field of village Roranwala Khurd in Amritsar District," the PRO statement added.

The Border Security Force (BSF) either shot down or recovered 107 drones from along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab during 2023, a senior officer said Monday.
The force guards more than 2,289 km of the International Border that runs along Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat along India's western flank. The Punjab region shares 553 km with Pakistan.
Quoting official data, the officer said almost all of the recovered drones were Chinese made and the maximum were recovered from farm lands running along the border on the basis of intelligence inputs.
Around ten drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were recovered from Rajasthan frontier during the same period, the officer said.
The force, during 2023, also seized a total of 442.39 kg of heroin, largely flown in and dropped by these drones, 23 weapons of different caliber and 505 rounds of ammunition from along the Punjab front, he said.

The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled a smuggling attempt in Punjab's Amritsar and arrested three smugglers who were trying to flee with the consignment of heroin, officials said on Monday.
According to BSF officials, the total weight of the heroin recovered from the smugglers was 525 grams. The arrest was made following specific intelligence from BSF Punjab regarding smuggling activities near Dhanoe Kalan village in the district.
"On December 24, 2023, on the basis of Special information of BSF regarding the smuggling activities near Village Dhanoe Kalan, District Amritsar, a special operation was planned. At about 1215 hrs, movement of two suspected smugglers was observed in the farming field, followed by dropping sound of consignment after drone movement," BSF said in a statement.
"Immediately both the smugglers were arrested, who were trying to get away with the consignment of heroin, which was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, and having a ring made of string attached with it (Gross wt - 525 Gms)," it said. "On the revelation of both the smugglers, the third smuggler was also arrested. Yet another attempt of smugglers to smuggle narcotics was foiled by vigilant BSF troops," the BSF added.

BSF Head Constable Lal Fam Kima, killed in an unprovoked Pakistani sniper fire along the International Border in Jammu on Thursday, was a "fearless" soldier and had once saved the lives of a dozen of his colleagues during a counter-terrorist operation along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Tum sala pin nikalega", Kima had screamed before he emptied his light machine gun (LMG) to kill a terrorist holed up inside a 'dhoke' (mud house) in Gool village during an operation in the winter of 1998.
The village is located in the upper reaches of the Pir Panjal range along the India-Pakistan Line of Control (LoC).
Recalling that operation, Kima's then commanding officer (CO) wrote an emotional and endearing post that was shared with multiple Border Security Force (BSF) officers over social media platforms.
Kima (50), was killed in the line of duty on Thursday after a Pakistani sniper bullet hit him from across the border in Jammu's Ramgarh sector along the India-Pakistan International Border.
A resident of Aizawl, the head constable joined the border force in 1996 and was currently posted with the 148th BSF battalion that is entrusted to guard the IB.
In the "remembrance" post for the gallant soldier, Kima's former CO Sukhminder (only the first name was mentioned in the post) said when he heard about the death in the morning, his "heart argued against his mind", fearing if it was his old colleague who was killed in an unprovoked firing incident at the IB.
In the post, the former CO said he had "spent all these years quoting Kima's conspicuous act of bravery and alertness to young officers and troops" about a 25-year-old LoC operation.
The post, accessed by PTI, stated that the terrorists were holed up inside a 'dhoke' and after an exchange of fire and grenades, the terrorists blew themselves up in order to carry out a 'fidayeen' (suicide) attack so that the surrounding BSF party also gets killed.
Even as smoke kept billowing from the 'dhoke', the BSF team rushed inside the smouldering remnants of the mud hut and found three dead terrorists.
"Suddenly there was a loud shriek. TUM SALA PIN NIKALEGA??!!!! Followed by a burst fire of LMG, sending everyone scampering for cover," the post read. "This was Lal Fam Kima (he was constable then), who had spotted the almost dead terrorist (taken for dead by BSF) removing the pin from the grenade even while he was taking his last breath," he said.
"While the rest of the party was busy rummaging and recovering war-like stores, it was the ever-alert Kima who spotted the surreptitious movement of a dying terrorist trying to blow off the grenade," the former CO wrote.
Had the terrorist been successful, he added, we would have certainly suffered dozens of casualties and the successful and clean operation would have turned sour.
"Today, Lal Fam Kima attained martyrdom. He was fearless back then when he was a young constable of two to three years of service and fearless now as a Head constable. This simple, humble and unassuming warrior lived bravely and laid down his life bravely," he wrote in the post shared amongst several BSF personnel and officers.
A wreath was laid at the mortal remains of Kima in Jammu before his body was sent to his home state Mizoram. He is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters and a son.&nbsp;

A BSF jawan was killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border (IB) in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district early Thursday, officials said.
The firing targeting Border Outposts in the district is the third ceasefire violation in 24 days by Pakistan Rangers along the IB in the Jammu frontier. The BSF jawan suffered injuries and was evacuated to a local hospital. He was later moved to the GMC Hospital in Jammu, the officials said.
The jawan succumbed to injuries, an official told PTI.
"During night intervening 8/9 Nov 2023, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Ramgarh area which was befittingly responded to by BSF troops," the Border Security Force (BSF) said in a statement.
Ramgarh Community Health Centre Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr Lakhwinder Singh said that one BSF jawan was injured in Pakistani firing and reported to the centre for treatment around 1 am.
Mohan Singh Bhatti of Jerda village said that the firing started around 12.20 am and later escalated into shelling. "A fear psychosis is prevailing along the IB due to firing and shelling," he said. &nbsp;On October 28, Pakistan Rangers indulged in heavy firing and shelling for around seven hours, resulting in injuries to two BSF jawans and a woman.
On October 17, two BSF personnel had been injured in unprovoked firing by the rangers in the Arnia sector. &nbsp;It is the sixth overall violation since the two sides signed a ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021.&nbsp;

A 21-year-old man allegedly wore a fake uniform of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and tried to enter the premises of the Central Ordnance and War Skills School (CSWT) in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, police said on Monday.
An offence has been registered against the accused, who is a resident of Rajasthan, an official said.
&ldquo;The accused had failed the medical exam during BSF recruitment. However, to avoid embarrassment, he lied to his family that he has become a constable after clearing the recruitment exam," Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aditya Mishra said.
In order to convince his family members about his selection, the accused wore a uniform similar to that of a BSF constable and tried to enter the CSWT campus on June 17, he said.
"When the BSF personnel saw the accused taking a selfie at the entrance of the CSWT premises, they became suspicious and on questioning, the deception was revealed," the DCP said.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 171 (wearing garb or carrying a token used by a public servant with fraudulent intent) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, he said.
While the man has not been arrested yet, a notice has been served to him under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) that he will cooperate with the police investigation, the official said.
The accused allegedly posed as a BSF havildar (radio mechanic) and tried to enter the CSWT premises claiming that some of his acquaintances were undergoing training in the premises, another official said.
When the BSF personnel noticed that the accused man's uniform did not have the stripes of the government uniform, they understood the matter, he said.&nbsp;

The accused personnel, however, claimed that they feared they would be run over by the truck and acted in self-defence.

A 32-year-old truck driver transporting cattle was shot dead by BSF personnel in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills, prompting the force to order a court of inquiry, officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place at Mawshun village when BSF personnel guarding a check post opened fire on the truck and killed driver Roning Nongkynrih on the spot on Saturday. Mawshun is around 17 km from the India-Bangladesh border.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has ordered a court of inquiry. The accused personnel, however, claimed that they feared they would be run over by the truck and acted in self-defence.
The deceased's cousin brother Ribalskhem Nongkynrih, who was also in the truck, however, alleged that the BSF personnel opened fire from point-blank range.
East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police S Nongtnger said a team from Pynursla Police Station was sent to the spot and a magistrate completed the legal formalities.
"It is an unfortunate incident. We have taken up the matter with utmost seriousness. A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered with Pynursla Police Station and further investigation is underway," he said, adding no arrest has been made so far.
Meghalaya Frontier BSF Inspector General Pradip Kumar, while condoling the death, said that immediate action has been initiated.
"I have ordered a court of inquiry which will be headed by a DIG rank officer. We will ascertain the facts of the case. The three personnel involved in the incident have been withdrawn from the location and are on their way back to the frontier headquarters in Shillong," he said.
"As per the preliminary investigation, the personnel who shot dead the man claimed that they sensed that the truck will not stop and they will be run over and opened fire in self-defence. However, we will get to the truth while cooperating with the police in their investigation as well," he added.

Subsequently, a fight broke out, and Shailesh's father Dinesh Jadav, uncle Arvind, and other relatives attacked the BSF soldier, police said. He died on the spot, while his injured son was taken to a hospital.
The incident took place in Chaklasi village in Gujarat's Nadiad.

The officials said smugglers had increased their activities along the international border as the area was blanketed by dense fog.
With the fog reducing visibility to almost zero, BSF troops are relying on the buzzing noise to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles entering from Pakistan. In just one month, they have gunned down eight drones, including hexacopters with six rotors, near the border areas, the BSF official said.

A man trying to cross over to India territory from the Pakistan side was shot dead by jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) posted at the international border in Rajasthan adjoining Karanpur of Sri Ganganagar district late on Monday, December 5, 2022 night.
A senior BSF officer confirmed that the incident took place at 14 S village, near the Harmukh check post in Sriganganagar. Pakistan Rangers have refused to accept the body of the unknown intruder who tried to enter Indian territory on the previous day, according to sources.

The intruder crossed over to the Indian side and started moving towards the fence. The body was recovered during the search operation," he said on Monday.
The BSF troops on patrolling duty warned the intruder not to move forward, but he added he did not pay any heed and kept moving towards the fence.
The troops later fired and neutralised the intruder and foiled the infiltration attempt, the official added mentioning that the area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.
"We have informed Pakistan rangers about the incident but they are verifying the identity of the intruder. If they refused to accept the body then it will be cremated as per protocol. We are waiting for official confirmation or denial from the Pakistan side," he said.

The officer's wife Kamla Devi and his daughter said that they were in their Jaipur house for nearly a week, mourning, waiting for his body but nobody came to console them nor were they provided with any proper information.
“We want to know what exactly happened to my father. He served the nation more than his family. We want to know under what circumstances this incident happened. It should be inquired,” she said.
“Everyone just tweeted and nobody visited us,” she said.
“My husband has made the supreme sacrifice and I am proud of it, but I am disappointed with the government.
No one reached out to us. We know how we spent the last six-seven days, how difficult it was, we were crying but unfortunately, there was no one to tell us what actually happened,” Devi told reporters in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC)chief Govind Singh Dotasra. 
Bagadia was laid to rest with military honours in his ancestral village in Sikar. 
Thousands of people turned up to pay floral tributes to the soldier and a Tiranga yatra was taken out in honour of him from Balaran to Singodara, Dholas, Kheerwa and Dudwa to his native village in Laxmangarh.
Officials including BJP MP from Sikar Swami Sumedhanand, Govind Singh Dotasra, BSF officers paid tributes to Bagadia. 
Devi went on to tell Dotasra, “Being the state party president, I had expectations from you because it is your area (constituency).” To which the Congress leader replied that he was infected with COVID-19 and was hospitalised, therefore he could not visit her earlier.
Dotasra assured Devi that the state government stands by the family.
