TS Singh Deo denies the existence of any power sharing pact after being appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The state will have elections towards the end of the year 2023.

A day after the appointment of TS Singh Deo as the deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh, the minister denied the existence of any agreement on a rotational Chief Minister Post.
Singh Deo who had been at loggerheads with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for long, blamed the media for creating a false narrative. Chief Minister Baghel has always been dismissive about any power-sharing pact. He arrived at the Raipur airport from New Delhi where he was greeted by a huge crowd of his supporter.
The appointment comes just a few months ahead of the Chhattisgarh assembly polls.&nbsp;

A 24-year-old man died after allegedly being thrown from the roof of a building by some uninvited guests during his friend's birthday party in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district, police said on Friday.
Eight men were arrested on Thursday on the charge of murder following the incident which took place on the intervening night of August 31 and September 1 at Sri Krishna Tulsi Dharamshala in Champa police station area., PTI said. 
Quoting Kamleshwar Dewangan, a police officer, PTI reported the deceased was attending his friend Binni Dewangwan's birthday celebration. As the party, also attended by some women, was underway, Kiran Sarathi and Manish Sarathi whom nobody at the party knew turned up uninvited and started dancing, he said. When Kamleshwar and some others objected, the duo got into a fight with them and called their six friends to the spot.
The eight accused started thrashing Kamleshwar and his friends and as he tried to escape to the roof, they caught him and threw him down, the official said.
He died during treatment at a hospital in Bilaspur.
Manish, Kiran and six others were arrested for murder and further probe is on, the police official said.

At least four Central Reserve Police Force troops were slain and three others were injured when one of their colleague opened fire at them inside a camp in&nbsp;Chhattisgarh.&nbsp;News agency ANI&nbsp;reported that the fratricide incident took place at the paramilitary camp in the Maoist hot bed of Sukma.&nbsp;The injured troopers have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.&nbsp;

News agency ANI&nbsp;reported that the fratricide incident took place at the paramilitary camp in the Maoist hot bed of Sukma.&nbsp;

Four CRPF personnel were killed and three others injured after their colleague opened fire at them in a camp of the paramilitary force in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday, a police official said.
The incident took place at around 3.15 am in the camp of the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) 50th battalion in Linganpalli village under Maraiguda police station of the area of the district, located nearly 400 km from the state capital Raipur, Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said.
As per preliminary information, constable Reetesh Ranjan fired at his colleagues with his service weapon, an AK-47 rifle, the official said.
The seven injured personnel were immediately shifted to a hospital in nearby Bhadrachalam area of neighbouring Telangana, where doctors declared four of them dead on arrival, the official said.
Those killed were identified as constables Rajmani Kumar Yadav, Rajib Mondal, Dhanji and Dharmendra Kumar, he said, adding that three other injured personnel were being treated at the hospital.
"The motive behind the firing is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is on into the incident," the official said.
Constable Ranjan was immediately held and his interrogation is underway, he said.
In a similar incident of fratricide in January this year, a CRPF jawan was killed and another one injured after their colleague opened fire at them in their camp in the state's Bastar district, police earlier said.
The offender had then tried to commit suicide by shooting himself, they said.&nbsp;

The Chhattisgarh High Court on Thursday acquitted a man from facing trial for allegedly raping his wife ruling that sexual intercourse between legally wedded man and woman is not rape even if it is by force.During the hearing of the case involving the issue of &lsquo;marital rape&rsquo;, Justice NK Chandravanshi said that &lsquo;sexual intercourse or sexual act by a man with his wife, the wife not being under 18 years of age, is not rape...even if it is by force or against her wish'.The accused husband in his case stated that none of the accusations constitute the punishable offence in India since marital rape is not recognised.The wife had alleged that after some days of marriage, her in-laws started harassing her for dowry and beat her up. The complainant had further cliamed that the husband had made unnatural physical relation with her despite her protest. The high court has upheld charges of unnatural sex framed against him under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).Earlier this month, the Kerala High Court held that marital rape is a valid ground for divorce even though it is not penalised in India, calling it &ldquo;cruelty.&rdquo;

Chhattisgarh police have filed a sedition case against an IPS officer, G P Singh.
Officials said during raids at his premises by the state's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW), documents revealing GP Singh was allegedly involved in promoting enmity and hatching a conspiracy against the government and public representatives were found.
During the raid at the official residence of Singh, an Additional Director General (ADG) rank officer, some pieces of torn papers were found from the backyard of the house. When pieces of papers were rearranged, serious and sensitive contents were found to be written and typed on it, the FIR said.
He was suspended earlier this week in a disproportionate assets case. During a three day search, officers said they discovered movable and immovable assets worth around ₹ 10 crore.

6 CMs write to Centre, reject 2 GST compensation options

Arvind&nbsp;Kejriwal&nbsp;wrote that the borrowing option will put an onerous burden on states already reeling under financial stress. Tamil Nadu&nbsp;Chief Minister and BJP&nbsp;ally E Palaniswami&nbsp;too stressed on non-viability of the Centre's options.&nbsp;
