Megastar Chiranjeevi was conferred with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award in January. After receiving the second-highest civilian honour, the actor, on February 4, was felicitated by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.&nbsp;

In his speech, Chiranjeevi expressed his gratitude, saying while receiving the Padma Vibhushan award was a significant honour, he found greater joy after witnessing his fans' love and support after the ceremony. &nbsp;Noting the importance of the prestigious award, the megastar said that he felt immense satisfaction from the outpouring of love and encouragement from the cinema industry, various organisations, associations, and politicians.&nbsp;

Padma Awards 2024 were announced on Thursday, a day before Republic Day. Reacting to the honour, Chiranjeevi said, &ldquo;After hearing this news, I became speechless.&rdquo;&nbsp; Chiranjeevi on his second Padma Award &ldquo;I am really overwhelmed, humbled, and grateful. It is only the unconditional love of the audience, my friends, my blood brothers, and sisters. I owe this life and moment to you. I have always tried to express my gratitude in the ways I can. But, nothing can be ever enough. On-screen, in the last 45 years of my career, I have tried to entertain you with the best of my abilities. I tried to help the needy by taking part in relevant social and humanity causes,&rdquo; he said on the second-highest civilian honour in the country. Chiranjeevi went on to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added, &ldquo;I have done so little. Yet, you have given me such recognition and honour. The government of India announced the Padma Awards on Thursday. People in arts, education, industry, literature, science, acting, medicine, social service, and public affairs received India&rsquo;s second-highest civilian honors after Bharat Ratna. The awards were announced as always on the Republic Day eve. Vyjayantimala, Chiranjeevi, Mithun Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, and composer Pyarelal Sharma are among the 132 recipients of the coveted awards this year. 
Chiranjeevi has acted in over 160 films in his decades-long career. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006, making this his second Padma Award. The actor, who will soon be seen in Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, once almost stepped away from films. In a bid to enter politics, he took a hiatus from acting after his 2007 film Shankar Dada Zindabad and founded the Praja Rajyam Party in 2008. However, he returned to his first love, cinema, in 2017 with Khaidi No 150.
Vyjayantimala, the Padma Shri awardee, is regarded as the first female superstar in Indian cinema. She starred in several notable films, including 'Devdas,' 'Naya Daur,' 'Aasha,' 'Sadhna,' 'Gunga Jumna,' 'Sangam,' and 'Jewel Thief.' Her last film remains 'Ganwaar.' Late Vijayakanth Besides them, late Tamil actor and politician Captain Vijayakanth has been posthumously recognized with Padma Bhushan for his service. He died in December 2023. Vijayakanth was best known for 'Vaidehi Kathirunthal,' 'Amman Kovil Kizhakale,' 'Poonthotta Kaavalkaaran,' 'Chinna Gounder,' and 'Honest Raj.'
Mithun Chakraborty, Usha Uthup, Pyarelal Actor, and politician Mithun Chakraborty, Usha Uthup, and Pyarelal Sharma of music duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal have also been awarded Padma Bhushan.
Mithun (73) is one of the most popular actors in Indian films. He began his career with Mrigayaa, which fetched him the National Film Award for Best Actor. His other hits are 'Disco Dancer,' 'Agneepath,' 'Ghar Ek Mandir,' 'Jallad' and 'Pyaar Jhukta Nahin.'
Pop queen Usha Uthup (76), is known as the pioneer of jazz music in Indian films around the 1970s. Some of her evergreen tracks are Ramba Ho, One Two Cha Cha, Shaan Se, Koi Yahaan Nache Nache and Hari Om Hari, among many others.

Hombale Films&rsquo; Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Prabhas plays Deva/Salaar, Prithviraj Sukumaran essays the role of Varadharaja Mannar, Jagapathi Babu is seen as Rajamannar, while Shruti Haasan is Aadya in &lsquo;Salaar&rsquo;. &nbsp; &nbsp;

The latest to support Trisha is Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who said that Mansoor&rsquo;s words are &lsquo;reprehensible&rsquo;.
Chiranjeevi wrote in a post on X, &lsquo;My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion. I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments.&rsquo;
Trisha replied to the &lsquo;Bholaa Shankar&rsquo; actor and wrote, &lsquo;Thank you Chiru sir&rsquo;.
Chiranjeevi&rsquo;s tweet comes after Trisha&rsquo;s &lsquo;Leo&rsquo; director Lokesh Kanagaraj also called out Mansoor.
He wrote, &lsquo;Disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments made by Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan, given that we all worked in the same team. Respect for women, fellow artists and professionals should be a non-negotiable in any industry and I absolutely condemn this behaviour.&rsquo;
Trisha has vowed to never work with Mansoor after his lewd comments about her at a press conference.
Mansoor spoke in Tamil during the interaction, and said, &lsquo;When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it&rsquo;s not new to me. But these guys didn&rsquo;t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir.&rsquo;
Trisha slammed Mansoor for his comments and wrote, &lsquo;A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind.&rsquo;
Stern action has also been demanded by the National Commission for Women.
The NCW tweeted, &lsquo;The National Commission for Women is deeply concerned about the derogatory remarks made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan towards actress Trisha Krishnan. We&rsquo;re taking suo motu in this matter directing the DGP to invoke IPC section 509 B and other relevant laws. Such remarks normalize violence against women and must be condemned&rsquo;.

Telugu actors Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha have been sentenced to one-year in jail after a Hyderabad court found them guilty of defamation in a case filed by producer Allu Aravind.&nbsp;
The case against the couple was filed in 2011 after they alleged that there were irregularities in the way a blood bank founded by Telugu megastar and Allu Aravind&rsquo;s brother-in-law Chiranjeevi was run. Rajasekhar and Jeevitha alleged that Chiranjeevi Blood Bank was also involved in selling blood in the black market. &nbsp;
Along with imprisonment, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on them. According to reports, the couple has given bail and can approach higher courts.&nbsp;
The feud between Chiranjeevi and Rajashekar has been long-running. The two also got into an argument in 2020 during an event organised by the Movie Artists Association.&nbsp;

Actor Chiranjeevi has issued a clarification after several reports claimed that he was diagnosed with cancer and got cured after treatment.
On Saturday night, Chiranjeevi wrote a lengthy message on Twitter explaining that the reports surfaced after he spoke about the importance of spreading cancer awareness.
Chiranjeevi clarified in his statement that he had previously undergone a test in which &lsquo;non-cancerous polyps were detected and removed.&rsquo; He further stated that he had predicted that the polyps &lsquo;would have turned out to be cancer&rsquo; if they hadn't been removed.
According to Chiranjeevi, the fact that he was misquoted in several reports caused &lsquo;unnecessary confusion.&rsquo;
He further added, &lsquo;However, some media outlets did not fully comprehend this and began publishing web articles saying, 'I got cancer' and 'I survived due to treatment. This has brought about needless confusion. My health is the subject of many well-wishers' messages. This explanation applies to each of them. A warning to such journalists is also in order: don't write nonsense without researching the topic. Many people are scared and hurt because of this.&rsquo;&nbsp;
 Numerous admirers cheered the actor on and expressed gratitude for his health.

K Vasu, a well-known Telugu director who worked with actors such as Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, died at the age of 60 at his home in Hyderabad. He had been suffering from kidney problems for several years and had been receiving dialysis treatment at a private hospital for the past two months.

On the show &lsquo;Good Morning America&rsquo;, he referred to S.S. Rajamouli as India&rsquo;s Steven Spielberg. &lsquo;He is known as the Steven Spielberg of India,&rsquo; the actor said.
When asked about the story of &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;, he said, &lsquo;It is about friendship, great brotherhood, camaraderie, the relationship between these two characters.&rsquo;
Ram also added that, &lsquo;It is not just 'RRR', it is Indian cinema and Indian technicians who are being honoured. And just when we thought we had achieved everything possible in India and moved on to the next project, the West just showed us that it was just the beginning.&rsquo;

Telugu veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana died at the age of 87 at his Hyderabad residence on Friday morning. He was suffering from old-age related illness.

He was the recipient of several awards including the 2017 Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution Telugu cinema and Andhra Pradesh government's Nandi film Award.
Sathyanarayan is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons.
